This was such an amazing experience! My mom, brother, & I did the two hour climbing session & all of us have never climbed before. Our tour guide Carl was absolutely incredible. He helped us all to feel comfortable and maneuver through the course & even when my mom felt like she was going to pass out, he was prepared and ready to assist. Honestly, I'm terrified of heights but this was amazing. The entire experience was expensive but incredibly organized and well-done. I would 100% do this again and I without a doubt recommend this anyone who is looking into it!

Our via feratta was AMAZING!!! Highly recommend Liam and his team. We were signed up for the 3 hour and ended up doing the 4 - was SO FUN!

Via Ferrata Tahoe - 2 hour route

This is a must do!!! You definitely have to be in shape enough to handle climbing for extended periods of time. There are plenty of places along the way to take water breaks and to catch your breath. All of the crew was incredible, you feel very safe and the views are stunning! We did the two hour tour and my family all agreed that this was their favorite part of our Tahoe trip. Thank you to Andrew for capturing great photos along the way and being a wonderful guide.

Our group had a great experience during the 2 hour Via Ferrata adventure at Squaw Valley. Tim and Mike were our tour guides and they did a phenomenal job explaining how the climbing system works, guiding the group, keeping us safe & hydrated and taking incredible pictures of everyone while they were climbing. These two rocked and beat all my expectations. On the day we did our climb the weather said it was 85 degrees but it definitely felt hotter. The 1 water bottle requirement is definitely necessary if it's hot out and I would highly recommend bringing a camel pack if you have one. I can't wait to go back and do the 4 hour climb.

My 24 year older son and I did the three day frog lake hut trip. From Sarah in the front office to our fantastic guides, Tim and Ally, everything went smoothly and professionally. The trip was an amazing experience as we learned so much and everyone was so friendly. They even brought our garbage and extra gear out for us!! I highly recommend Alpenglow Expeditions for professionalism, safety and accommodations.

I took the 2 hour excursion on the Via Ferrata, and had a great time! The guides made us all feel confident and comfortable, and they led us with skill and humor!

The Tahoe Via Ferrata was a highlight of our trip. The team at Alpineglow Glow expeditions is top notch, and a special shout-out to our guide Isaac! He was very attentive to our parties needs, our group of six had people from age 8 to 66 years old and Issac made sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time. My only regret is only booking the 2hr tour, next time we are definitely doing the 4hr trip. The route itself is well maintained and fun for people that have never climbed, to the experienced climber. I highly recommended Tahoe Via Ferrata at Palisades Tahoe for a fun family outing!

We had the best time with our guide Andrew on the three hour tour! I've never rock climbed before and the Tahoe Via Ferrata was so much fun. It's a tiny workout but you can go at whatever pace you need/want depending on your preference. Nearly anyone can do this - you just need to be up for an adventure and beautiful views.

We did the 2.5 hour climb with Dustin, who was energetic, helpful and made the whole experience fun and relaxing. We had 2 tweens with us who loved the challenge and had no problem with the climb or the gear. It's not a walk in the park, and requires some mettle and recognition of heights. But even with a fear of heights, I felt safe and challenged. Quite a thrill! Can't wait to try the larger climb to the summit next time! All Covid precautions were taken and we were masked and gloved any time we were near each other. We were not masked while climbing so you may want to make reservations within your own circle.

We did a 2-hour Via Ferrata tour in Tahoe with our 2 kiddos (ages 7+9) and it was fantastic! Our guide Mic did an amazing job helping & accommodating our kids. It was a highlight of our Tahoe vacation & the perfect amount of "epic". Highly recommend a trip with Alpenglow!

The first part of the hike is a steady climb but with well worn and designated paths. We took a couple quick water and photo breaks but it was early enough in the morning that it was a bit cooler. Coming here around 8 AM also meant that there was only a few others on the trail and barely anyone coming down. The paths are narrow in some places so you have to wait for incoming traffic to pass. Our dog loved this climb and got pretty tired from the upward trek. You make your way up through a forested/shaded area until you reach some rock formations and a small canyon. By the time you finish this bit, you're at the flat forested level to the lakes! The first lake is easy to find but the rest are a bit difficult to navigate. There are no clear marked signs so we relied on maps and made sure directionally we headed towards the lakes. Our pooch took a quick dip in the first lake but there wasn't really a good clearing to enter and stay for humans. We then went to the second and then made a stop at the third lake which is definitely the biggest and best! It had a good spot for dogs to enter the water and play fetch. The scenery was beautiful and the water was so clear, clean and refreshing. I think a few of the lakes were connected so we technically saw them but it was hard to distinguish between the different ones. We started the trail back down and saw lots of people start to come up. It took us about 2 hours because we walked fairly fast. There were lots of dogs on the trail and a great hike overall with lots to see!

Thought it was going to be way easier than it actually was, so definitely not for a novice hiker…read more It's all incline up until you're halfway done with the trail. Once you get past the first part, you are rewarded with beautiful views - especially now with the fall colors! We even saw some cool fuzzy caterpillars this time! They need to refresh the blue paint markers that show the way on the path - they are fading so much in some places you can miss them. I relied heavily on my AllTrails navigation map. There are some more tricky, steep areas as you get near the top. One reason I enjoy this hike is because of the sense of accomplishment you feel when you finally find your way to the top. There is an 1833 ft elevation gain - even more if you climb the stairs to get to the aerial tram at High Camp. We like to do this because if you climb up, you can take the tram back down to the Village in Palisades for free (hint: the tram is now closed through the end of November 2023 for repairs). While up there, we also like to look around at the artifacts in the 1960 Winter Olympics Museum. Taking the tram down is always nice. Lots of spectacular views.

We brought a small cooler for drinks and lunch. The river was calm, no real need to paddle the whole time, the river just takes you, and very easy to steer away from the side and rocks. Plenty of side stops to pull over to eat lunch and chill. Lots of people were out in the not even knee deep water playing ball, enjoying a drink, listening to music and chilling. There were plenty of other floaters, families and rafts that day and it was pretty cool to bump into them from time to time, and everyone was friendly on the river, just big smiles. There were light rapids towards the end that lasted about 5 minutes that was actually fun and exciting. This was such a great experience and totally worth it and the 3 hour drive to come here. The group can only access this beach with the shuttle & tour group so make sure to read everything in the email. The clear kayaking is done at Sand Harbor which was absolutely gorgeous. All of the guides we met and interacted with were super cool, nice, and helpful. Using a clear kayak is particularly cool when you go over rocks and boulders in the lake. The kayaking was not too strenuous and I would definitely recommend for beginners like myself. It is a bit more pricey to do the clear kayak tours as opposed to renting a regular kayak so it's something to consider, but by doing the tour I got to see a part of the lake I had never been to (and is a bit harder to get to) and also got instructions and tips for kayaking. We thought the tour would go a little farther/longer too but it was still cool. Kayaks are available as singles or doubles with weight limits so be sure to take that into account when booking. It was late July when we went so the weather was nice and warm. We wore swim shorts and dry fit shirts with UV protection. Our legs got a little wet from water splashing off the paddle but it felt great. They do lend you dry bags to use if you have any items you want to keep on you while kayaking. I did use the dry bag for my sunscreen, water bottle, wallet/fanny pack. They also said we could leave belongings in their life jacket van at the beach, which some people chose to do. I would recommend packing light though. I am glad we booked this adventure. I think after going with a tour group now I feel more confident to rent a kayak and head out without a tour next time I visit Tahoe.
