I was referred to this group after breaking my hand. It was an emergency and I was supposed to see…read moreWSO the next day with an emergency request after I saw the referral doctor. After calling both doctors offices every other day for 6 WEEKS, I finally got an appointment. Obviously too much time had passed for them to do anything for me. On top of that, both offices charged me a premium price - for nothing.

My experience at Western Slope Orthopedics was a total frustration…read more I had a non-displaced pelvic fracture - assigned (apparently) to a hand surgeon who didn't seem to know the difference between hip and pelvis - follow up x-ray was ordered for a hip x-ray. The only competent person in that office seems to be the x-ray tech. who asked which hip - not hip - pelvis - she took an "extra picture" so the pelvis would be visualized. My medical record was totally bogus - very little on it was true - when I talked about this to someone in Medical Records I was told - "oh this happens all the time. I reminded her that a medical record was a legal document - (didn't seem to matter). Medical assistants take 3-5 days to respond to questions or not at all - when I wrote to ask if a hip x-ray would show the pelvis - no answer and so the order was not changed. The check in staff - at the office - not sure what they do - I checked in for my repeat x-ray and sat for 30-45 minutes (everyone else who came in was 'called' within a few moments.) When I asked if the x-ray tech was available - I was told yes - "well, why was I still waiting?" "Oh, you have to be entered into the system" , I said I had been in the system for 2 weeks. "No, into the daily system". and why wasn't I entered into the "daily system" when I checked in? I would advise anyone needing orthopedic care not to go to Western Slope Orthopedics - seek competent care. My rating on all but the x-ray tech would be "0" on all counts.

This office's business practices embody much of the worst of practices in our broken health care…read moresystem, including the lack of systems and checklists that research (and business experience) proves to be critical in customer service and efficiency. I called Dr. Singh's office to ask about an appointment in which I could have some odd sensations and pains around my shoulders and arms and lower neck examined. The receptionist told me that Dr. Singh did not deal with patients who had "neck problems". I asked her how I could tell if I had "neck problems" as he defined it. However, she had not been trained in answering this question. As a result, she suggested that I either risk wasting my time by waiting two weeks to see Dr. Singh, who might simply refer me to another doctor with an even longer wait time, or that I see the other doctor in one month. The other doctor required a full MRI, I was told. I asked if Dr. Singh could speak with me on the phone for five minutes so as to listen to my description (e.g., I did rupture a disk near my neck years ago) and advise me on how to waste less time and money. E.g., "Yes, that sounds like a neck problem as I define it," etc. The receptionist said "He won't do that." I explained to the receptionist the unnecessary bind this put me in and asked her to pass the information on to the doctor. She said she would do so. I have no knowledge of whether she actually did so; I never got a call back from anyone at the office.

Dr Singh did a total knee replacement and I never got functional. I am active and in my 50's. After…read more13 months of getting no where, I went to Chicago. They did a CT scan (why didn't Singh?) and found that the implant was not put in properly. I had to have the entire surgery redone in Chicago. It was difficult and expensive. I have not walked without a cane or crutch this entire time. I ended up with bleeding and pain. I am getting better with the new surgery, what a difference! And how would one know if it was your first? I DO NOT recoemmend Dr Singh.
