I arrived here at 1pm on a Monday afternoon for a scheduled appointment to get my windshield…read morereplaced. I made my appointment online via claims portal with my insurance company (Gieco). After I was checked in, I was told to hold onto my keys and that a technician would come and get my keys from me. I went and sat in the waiting room. There were 2 other people also waiting. There is about 10-13 chairs, a TV, and a snack area in the waiting room. For the snack area, they have a coffee machine, sodas, and a basket of variety snacks. At 1:02pm, I heard the front desk make an announcement to someone that the 1pm is here. My technician came at 1:04pm. He told me it would be about a 3 hour wait but would try to see if it would be closer to 2 hours. I ended up going for a walk on the greenway that's close by. At 2:30pm, I received a call that my car was ready. After getting the call, I headed back. I checked out with the receptionist to pay my deductible since my insurance covered the rest. I was told not to wash my car for 2 days. The technicians and receptionists were friendly. Service was prompt. I have no complaints!

At 4:24 pm I was told that they couldn't get the calibration working and were on hold with support. I was disappointed because they waited until the 3 hr mark to communicate anything. I was there for almost 4 hrs. I was not happy and then when I got in my car the plastic that goes around the sensing system wasn't installed properly! The reason I gave 3 starts is because my windshield does look good and the individual that helped me did apologize when i was leaving. Safelite do better, this isn't acceptable!

Regional Auto Center came out to replace a window in my car after it was damaged. The technician…read moredid a decent job of cleaning and installing the glass. The problem is they used low quality glass. I called and asked the scheduler over the phone if they used OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) or if they used OEE (Original Equipment Equivalent). And Liz told me that they used OEM Equivalent. No, they use OEE. This is what OEE was explained to me from another glass installer. OEE is where they take an original glass, and reverse engineer it to be close to the original, but it is not manufactured to original specs. That way if there are any patents, or whatever, the copy cats don't have to pay that fee. The glass might be thinner, a different color, the holes in the wrong spot., etc. So when the installer, Shane, came I asked him what it was, and he said OEE. And basically gave a slightly different description than what Liz said. Liz said it was the same as the dealer OEM glass, except the dealer charges hundred more for a $2 sticker label. That is not true. So when it came to the install, guess what, the glass didn't fit correctly. The installer had to modify my car hardware to make the glass fit. By modify I mean break pieces off. My thoughts are, if you have to modify, I mean break, to original mounting brackets because, as Shane said, "the holes on the glass are the wrong size" meaning, not made to OEM specs, then you should get better glass. And Liz from the warehouse stated that the glass they were installing was the better aftermarket glass. If that is some of the best, I hate to see the other junk they install. Shane did do a decent job installing the glass, and cleaning up. The installer was good, the warehouse personnel shouldn't try to pull the wool over the consumers eyes. After all, we will ask several other people, including your own crew. Then you just look stupid. #344
