Christmas Tree Shop

Christmas Tree Shop

I have long been a fan of the Christmas Tree Shop, it's so much more than the name implies, so…read moredon't let the name fool you. They carry a little bit of everything, including Christmas when in season, and are a great resource to decorate your home on the cheap. Recently they introduced their equivalent of Joanne Gaines farmhouse line; similar to Target's but with much more variety and better pricing. Actually they offer décor options for every style, it's worth checking out. Aside from home décor items they carry; rugs, curtains, bedding, lamps, artwork, they have a small accent furniture department. They also have every you need to dress up your table in style; linens, dishware, chargers, decorative accents. Additionally they carry all kinds of kitchen gadgets + the staples like silverware and pots and pans. They have a small specialty food section with great prices on spices + (non refrigerated) food from around the world. Best place to find hard to find extracts/spices on the cheap - and they're usually in the $1 range . They also have candles and accessories, gift wrap and novelty gifts, a small toy and cosmetic section. In all they carry a little bit of everything. Sometimes they offer $10 coupons for logging on their website. Worth checking back from time to time. Prices are more than the Dollar Stores but comparable to Walmart only with better quality and customer service. Best selection of cheap seasonal décor items and supplies too! If you love to decorate for every holiday; St Patty's and Valentine's Day included you've come to the right place. Worth a visit if local or if vacationing in the area as it's located in the center of the most touristy highway; Lincoln Highway and surrounded by other shops, restaurants and hotels. Best to leave hubby in the car though, you might be here awhile!

I miss the Christmas Tree Store. They had so many great things. You can get of course Christmas…read moreitems, but also a variety of seasonal gifts for everyone. From soup to nuts. Literally. Really miss shopping at the Christmas Tree Store.

Jemson Renovations and Design - New Jemson Cabinetry Kitchen

Jemson Renovations and Design

I was excited to work with Jemson for all the cabinetry for our new house, even convincing our…read morebuilder to let us use someone new to him. Designing was great with Abby. Everything went downhill after that! Our last backordered piece arrived yesterday, 8 months from when the builder paid 50% down. The customer service and management was so lacking and we had to initiate 75% of the communication, including a demand or we take action to get the $2,000 deposit returned that they accidently forgot to credit us. We ended up providing our own installers due to the timing of everything in attempt to stay on schedule. Jemson told the builder he had to pay the 2nd half closer to when we wanted delivery. Once they had 100% payment, we started to learn of all the delays. We did not feel the urgency to get things sooner-especially with the backordered things. Our last piece had the delivery date changed 3 times, each time saying it would be a month longer. We feel someone dropped the ball in ordering. Jemson did not reach out to us to see if we got these last two pieces and if everything was complete and satisfactory, closing our order. Fabuwood's semi-custom kitchen is beautiful but it should not have taken 8 months to complete! "Thank you for your patience." was the only platitude we heard from Jemson in response to our frustration and the wait. I would NOT recommend working with Jemson if you are hoping to have an experience without frustration, stress and being treated fairly and with dignity as a paying customer.

I can't thank Jemson's enough for all their dedicated work, from the beginning of the project to…read morethe finishing touches of their Tile guy Oleg it was a pleasant experience! Thank you so much!

Colonial Marble has a gigantic warehouse with the most extensive and beautiful selection of marble slabs of at least 4 places we visited. The difficulty was deciding on which one to choose. After selecting a beautiful slab they helped us pick out the nicest part for the vanity top and the shower bench. They also made suggestions about how to use the rest of the slab, for example for window sills and thresholds, that we hadn't thought of. Our project ended up being behind schedule by 6 months but they never charged any "storage fees" or other annoying charges. When we were ready for the marble, a very professional guy came out and measured with a laser device. The measurements were accurate and the bull nose edge as well as the rest of the work was precise and looks amazing. We couldn't be happier with the outcome.

They will say if you didn't see the damage being done they cannot believe you. If they had to fix all the damages their installers do they will be out of business. The installer did a terrible job caulking. They had to send someone out to fix the caulking. My kitchen floor was scratched and my cabniet finish was taken off in one corner. The quartz countertop is nice. The second caulking job is better but I still have damage to my floor and cabniet.

I noticed a drawer that was peeling so I went into the shop and they were very helpful saying they could get me a new drawer. This is by far the worst experience I have had with a contractor. June 11, 2013 our long awaited…read moreand highly anticipated kitchen renovation started. The end of September it was finished. From the very beginning scheduling was a major problem. Three days were allowed for the subcontractor that took no more then 1 day each. I found it very frustrating to have 2 out of 3 days with no work being done. When I asked Dave White about this I received a not so nice e-mail back telling me I knew nothing about scheduling. I wish I could say that was the worst of our nightmare. I can't begin to list all the problems so I will just mention a few. Professionalism was very poor from the beginning. I loved it when I found hidden cigarette butts in our cabinets. Hated them taking 20 minute brakes in my bathroom. Our entire kitchen was demolished with only the wall oven, counter top, dishwasher and refrigerator saved for re-install. Apparently during the removal of the wall oven it was damaged. We were never told this. When they went to re-install they tried to "fix" it. The oven did not work. After a week of trying to get it to work we called an appliance store. They are the ones who told us someone had tried to fix it. Dave White never disclosed this information to us. The design of two separate items were flawed. The apron above the sink was about 3" to short. When I asked about getting that fixed I was told by Dave White that is the standard size. I have a custom kitchen! The second big flaw was the microwave/oven that Dave White strongly recommended. Granted it was really nice but where it was placed in our kitchen was way to high making it dangerous and impossible to use without a step stool. Not user friendly. I would think an experienced designer would know about these things. When we went to pick out a new microwave we were told the type we originally had was made to be put in lower. One other thing I do want to mention is overcharge. We did change our sink style/color. The sink we picked out was much less then the sink Dave White picked out. When we needed to adjust the cost they actually charged us $800.00 more! When asked about it they said it was an error. That was not the last time they tried to overcharge us. Beware! After all of the above Dave White did fix everything but at times I felt like it was pulling teeth. THE KITCHEN I SHOULD LOVE I HATE!
