As it turned out the connected expansion tank was filling with water and was improperly installed. The tech rectified all that within a tight time frame -- and of course throughly inspected the main tank, electronics, and electrodes. He also drained any sediment. While these are typical aspects with respect to the requested services, the manner performed was exhaustive, professional and everything was kept clean, dry and tidy. I had complete confidence as I looked on and observed complete respect for my property. In the course of the service call (which I was initially hesitant to initiate, just because, well, who bothers with maintenance?), it was also determined that my water pressure regulator valve was malfunctioning after a water pressure test was conducted early on. While replacement was relatively costly, it was perhaps critically necessary so that was why I'm thrilled. This was a throughly executed, friendly, and even thoughtful service(s) call. Part of this charge was for a a helper who was getting on-the-job training. After questioning this invoice, we were told the charges were valid, but they removed the charge for the trainee. They said the remaining $218 would stand. We paid, but noted that we still disagreed and would leave a review as such. At this point the owner started emailing us about how "they are not God" and that any experienced plumber could make the same mistake. Sure, we all make mistakes, but it's not normal to make your customer pay for them. They offered us a refund of $42 if we agreed to remove the reviews. We didn't accept that offer as we'd rather let other potential customers know about our experience.

After cutting a large hole in the ceiling and having us turn various taps on and off for two and a half hours, she left without finding the problem. Following a period of time to allow the insulation to dry out, Lois returned as she and her partner were sure they figured out the cause of the flood. It was simply a re-run of the first visit and pure speculation that the overflow in one of the bathtubs could be the culprit. ( We noted that the bathtub was not used the day/night prior to the flood. ) In the end, it cost me almost $500.00 to have her troubleshoot and leave a ceiling requiring drywall repair. That, I'm sure will probably cost as much as it did to create the damage. I am a senior and I hate to admit that I still trust people to be honest and upfront, especially if they don't know what they are doing.
