The customer service I received from the travel agent was subpar at best, horrible at worse. There…read morewere several instances where this agent failed to meet my needs, which I've summarized below. Throughout the planning stage of my trip, I was under the impression that I purchased an Oceanview room (a higher grade room). When I arrived at my destination, I was told I was in fact booked for a Gardenview room (a lower grade room). While checking in, I contacted the travel agent and she stated my invoice included an "error," and the price I actually paid was for the lower grade room. This alleged "error" was highly disappointing considering every invoice I received from the agent stated I was confirmed for the higher grade room (Oceanview). When I requested pricing of the various room levels,  to ensure the invoice was in fact an error, I was not supplied with this information. Given this, it's extremely difficult for me to believe the invoice was simply an error. Prior to my trip, the travel agent failed to provide critical detailed information such as COVID-19 protocols. The information she did provide was obsolete as the country changed its COVID protocols. Most notable, she failed to inform me, or any of my other travel companions, the cost of the COVID-19 test, and she did not advise us to schedule our appointments when we arrived as appointments were limited. We were left scrambling to find a testing appointment prior to our departure. Given the fact that we are in a global pandemic, I would have thought her COVID-19 information would have been more comprehensive. Also, when traveling to Costa Rica, we missed our connecting flight due to mechanical errors. As my agent, I thought she would have assisted me by trying to find an alternate flight (even if the flight was through a separate airline). She did not assist with finding an alternate flight, and as a result, I missed a full vacation day. Because I missed a vacation day, she said that she would see if the hotel could extend my stay; however, she would not be able to provide a definite answer until Monday. In the interim, she advised me and my travel companions that she held the flights on standby and we should "not worry about the extension as the hotel almost always grants an extension." When Monday came, the hotel did in fact extend our stay; however, there were no flights available. At this point, I was highly disappointed because she assured me that my flight was on standby. In the end, I lost a full vacation day. In addition, our transportation to and from the hotel was not booked properly, thereby causing me and my travel companions to frantically search for alternate transportation with little time. Lastly, after my trip, she provide me with the incorrect insurance claim number. Furthermore, she did not provide me with the correct claim amount until 2 full weeks after my vacation. Her customer service throughout this ordeal was lacking and borderline nonexistent. If I could give this agent 0 stars, I would.  I do not recommend her.

It was damn near impossible to talk to a human being at Silvergate to get this sorted. I would strongly recommend that someone looking for university evaluation for immigration purposes should never, ever use this company.
