They NEVER answer their phone, OR return phone calls. It is impossible to contact a room number there. VERY DISGUSTED.

My husband became in need of round-the-clock care last year. We had visited Prestige a few months…read morebefore to tour an assisted living apartment and put down a $500 deposit. At that time, they did an assessment to see if he would be a good fit with their facility and he did qualify for the assisted living side. When he became more disabled and he needed to have more care than I could provide, they reassessed him and accepted him into the Memory Care section of their facility. We were able to move him there the day after the new assessment. The studio had not been cleaned, but most of the previous occupant's items were gone, except some sundries in the bathroom. But there was no repainted walls or scrubbed floor like a new rental. He had some medical issues while there and the staff called me at night asking what I thought about his situation and whether they should call an ambulance. I did not know what to do since I couldn't see him. I asked, "Is there a nurse on staff or someone you can consult with to determine whether he should go to the hospital or not?" The assistants said there was no one available. This happened a couple of times. The third time he was hospitalized, he stayed in the hospital for 3 days. Prestige told me they wouldn't take him back at that point putting me in a very stressful situation. When I asked why they wouldn't take him back, they said he was "Too much trouble and hiding his pills." I called several nursing homes that day and one had space, but not until the next day. I pleaded with them to take him back for one night, but they would not. I felt the only reasonable solution was to keep him in the hospital another day. The hospital told me it would be approximately $1200 for the extra day. Needless to say, due to all the medical expenses already expended, it was a very stressful situation. We were able to get a bed at another facility the next day. Since he had been at Prestige for only 15 days, I asked for the $2000.00 deposit back. The administrative staff said the company was "stingy" with deposit refunds. They refunded the unused portion of the rent, but I never received the $2000.00 back. I wish I had known more about the assisted care/nursing homes before I had to make my choices. I hope this will at least help other people make their best decision. I would also say there were some truly caring staff that were employed there. The company, in my opinion, is only interested in the bottom line.

I think this facility may have been pretty good a couple of years ago, but since the pandemic and…read moreespecially 2021, the place has gone down hill. This is what you will pay for if you have a family member there now: Pricey Assisted living prices, but it's more like a poorly managed nursing home with all of their residents constantly on lockdown in their rooms 24/7. The residents get very little interaction and rarely can see family or leave the facility, unless they want to be constantly quarantined. Employees are poorly trained, oversight and quality control is not a priority, so you might get different information from day-to-day. You must request itemized statements and you will be overcharged for ridiculous things. It is clear that management lacks empathy for families going through this and you will not get any comfort or support when things go wrong. My heart goes out to the people there that have no family or friends advocating for their health and well-being in this place. Their corporate entity/owners need to do a complete overhaul on their management and policies and procedures. At this place and time, my rating is -1 star and I wouldn't put my elderly dog in there. Every elderly adult deserves 5 Star care!

Unfortunately my family and I had to use their hospice services this past month for my elderly…read morefather who was dying of heart failure and COPD. While the intake and folks we met (Diane our social worker, sharolyn our nurse and Mike the Chaplin) were nice and seemed knowledgeable, the promises of care we would receive have been bitter. I'm giving 2 stars because the folks all seemed very sweet and caring, at first.. While my father was alive (he was in hospice 1 week and passed a week ago) the nurses were great, and present whenever we needing anything. They were great at calling back and very attentive, at the time. However, my father passed 8 days ago and not one call from anyone. The social worker said that counseling would be temporarily provided, yet we have yet to receive any calls from the nurses or social worker to check on things. Not one condolence. I wasn't quiet expecting this, as they seemed to care in the beginning. We are saddened by the lack of true empathy and care they seem to have for those left behind. As they are well aware to care for a dying loved one isn't a task for the weak of heart. It would have been helpful to have someone compassionate and caring to speak with this week as we try and live on without my father. Very disappointed

I had the same type of experience with Home Options Hospice where ironically my husband volunteered…read morefor years. The home care nurses were very nice and professional, but when Bob went from the emergency room to a Hospice room, everything changed. The doctor was cold and never introduced herself or told me what she was doing with Bob. The nurses would bring in meds and say the doctor ordered them without even asking us if they were okay. At one point, my husband said, "this is hopeless". One CNA there, Shawna, was the only one who ever asked if I was hungry or thirsty. She brought me water, coffee and food. I was in shock. The chaplain came in and insisted on reading the Bible in a loud voice even thought I said twice that our priest had just been there. No one asked me about a chaplain. When Bob dies, a voice over the microphone asked me what funeral home I wanted to use. I had no idea. Finally I called our priest and he helped me. Then, I had to walk out of the hospital alone and when I got to my car, I just collapsed. I finally called a friend to come and get me because I could not drive home. Shawna gave me a hug when I left---everyone else just watched me leave. And no one has ever called me. I laughed when i saw their brochure and saw that they "offer bereavement groups for the family." And, please, don't bother calling me know.

One of our most important priorities is my wife's mother who has had Alzheimer's for nearly 10 years, of which, she has been in the great care of The Springs at Whitefish for over 7 years. It has become more than a care facility but rather her home filled with people who love her, nurture her through the stages of her disease and have become her extended family. It's far more than just attending to her personal and physical needs, it's also about the hugs, holding hands, brushing her hair or doing her nails all while treating her with respect and compassion. The care that takes place at the Springs is emotional, physical, and requires patience. We feel one of our blessings over this last year is the loving care Mom receives. Thank you to everyone at the Springs our extended family. Rich and Teresa
