Tamika made a 60 minute massage feel like 90 minutes. And I still didn't want it to end. Friends got me a gift certificate here and I booked a massage before the holiday. While the shared entrance with The Meeting Point is a little confusing at first, it helps create a positive vibe from entrance to exit. I'll be making appts more frequently in 2025! read more

I had a massage yesterday with rabbit !!! She is so nice warm and welcoming. She created a safe and comfortable environment for me especially because I was nervous. I didn't realize how much stress and knots I had in my back shoulders basically everywhere and rabbit did amazing ! I felt great after the massage. I'm definitely going back next month. read more

My back has been super tense ever since I went on an overseas trip. No amount of yoga and stretching had really made a dent yet. I went to see a couple of different massage therapists in different locations that did not really make a dent either. Coming to Imani Massage was the first time that I woke up and my back felt super relaxed. I feel like I have a baseline to continue my yoga and stretching from now. I would highly recommend Imani Massage. It is very comfortable and professional and the staff is very friendly. Will definitely be coming back! read more

One of the best deep tissue massages I've gotten. Rabbit is awesome and made me feel safe and comfortable. Equipped me with useful recommendations. Environment is socially conscious and inclusive. Was nice to see poc folx in the waiting room. Owner is super friendly, too. read more

I recently had a massage at Imani, it was amazing. There were options for the amount of clothes you would like to keep on based on your personal comfort level. The pressure level was perfect and I full enjoyed the massage for the 90 minutes. For those who have never been here once you enter the house it's the door on the left. Rabbit was phenomenal! You also wear a mask in the building and during your massage! read more

Christine (owner) is a very skilled bodyworker and knows exactly what your body needs, even if you don't- I left my massage with my body feeling 10 lbs lighter, without knots and tightness I didn't even know I had. She is caring and respectful of your stated preferences and boundaries, but is intuitive enough to know what areas might need a bit more pressure or a different technique, so you can really trust her to do exactly what needs to be done. She seems passionate about what she does and her business as a whole, as well as our local community at large, so this is the kind of business you feel good going to (and not just because of the awesome results you get, although that's key too). Note that this isn't a spa, so there's no uniformed staff members, bridal parties, or white marble in sight... what you will find instead is a homey, cozy, comfortable and welcoming place (/house) with passionate and caring people ready to help your body be the best it can be (for a very reasonable price!). This would be the perfect place to come if you have specific problems/areas you're looking to be worked on, but I came in just for some general self-care and stress-relief, and my goal was met and then some. Think it's time I become a regular here. They do online booking which makes things easy, and their communication about appointments and preferences prior to your appointment is excellent as well. Don't hesitate to book an appointment- your body will thank you. read more

Christine's massages are truly wonderful. As I write this review, I am more than 41 weeks pregnant with my second child. Which means that I am roughly one thousand pounds pregnant and I do a lot of back-stressing toddler carrying. I can't remember the last time I was actually comfortable in my body during this pregnancy other than the times that I have seen, or the hours immediately following, Christine's visits to my home. For other moms out there, one of the best things about Christine's business is that she is willing to come to you. For me, as pregnant as I am and being the mother of a bad sleeper, this is the difference between getting a massage at all and spending another uncomfortable afternoon/evening on the couch. Christine will focus on problem areas, and they will actually feel better after she leaves. As a consequence of her massages, I not only feel more "pampered" and relaxed, but I have a greater sense of physical and emotional well-being. I'm again talking to the other moms out there - nothing like a great massage for those insane hormonal swings at the end of pregnancy. This is better than crying it out, talking to my best friend, or binge-watching Netflix. Unbelievably, it feels good to be me at a time in my life that is very uncomfortable. Try Imani Massage. It's awesome sauce. read more

I finally got a chance to go get a massage with Christine and I have got to say I will DEFINATELY be going back. I went to see her at her wonderful new yoga and massage studio in Dorchester (super easy to get to by car and she wasn't working in JP the day I booked). The studio is beautiful and worth checking out! I'm a massage therapist with 20 years of experience, and I had met Christine at a function a few months ago. I love stepping out of my normal and trying a new therapist a couple times a year, because sometimes I find someone amazing. Christine has a very tuned in and thorough massage approach. I felt like she really heard where my problem areas were and gave me the focus and detail I needed to have less pain. She got a lot of the ongoing hip and leg pain to release nicely and still found time to get some solid tension relief in my upper back and shoulders. I definately recommend going for 90 minutes! read more

I am so lucky that Christine happened to be available when I called. I had shoulder surgery a week before and the opposite arm was very sore from doing everything. She was able to do a home visit and gave me a wonderful massage to my opposite shoulder neck and low back all while I was in the sitting position. She gave just the right pressure and if it felt like too much I was very comfortable asking her to back off a little bit and she obliged. She is a very delightful person and I am glad that I was able to find her through Yelp. When I'm all healed in hopefully 6 months, I plan to get a regular full body massage from her. read more

My girlfriend and I were in bad shape on a Sunday afternoon. We wanted a massage and knew we'd have no luck trying to get one on such short notice. So, we looked on Yelp and found Imani Massage to give it a try. They had very good reviews so we thought we'd call and try to book. Luck would have it, Christine was available! She was very reasonable for 2-45 minute massages for my girlfriend and I. Christine is extremely knowledgeable, very skillful and just a very nice person. My girlfriend has owned a Reiki business for many years and remarked that Christine was very good. We will definitely be back on a regular basis. Thank you so very much Christine!! read more

Christine is an amazing healing massage therapist. She has deep knowledge of anatomy which is apparent by the way she is able to target specific muscles and use specific techniques. She's a consummate professional who cares deeply about her clients' well-being. I get massages about 3 times a year. When I went to Christine, I immediately discovered the difference of an excellent massage! I can only end with, Wow! read more

I had an excellent experience at Imani. I highly recommend. These are the reasons why: Location: Beautiful building, large room. Very clean, organised, calming. Hospitality: excellent, Christine got a drink for me, without me even asking. Gave me lots of privacy and time. Was very welcoming, obliging, warm and hospitable. Massage: EXCELLENT. Hit the spot exactly. Christine has a perfect touch and uses a combination of Swiss and Deep Tissue Techniques. This is great because you really got a lot of satisfaction out of the Deep Tissue Massage, and then you get the rewarding feeling from the Swiss techniques. Christine found some tension in my upper back, and some tightness in my hamstrings and worked on both of these. Was exactly what I needed. Christine: Christine is ultra professional, a brilliant masseuse, and top notch for attention to detail. She took the time to educate me a little on what to expect from the massage, asked me what I wanted to get out of it, and then empowered me by telling me it was my massage and that I could ask her to apply as much or as little pressure as I wanted. This was such a great thing to hear. I give Christine 10/10. I was very very impressed and will definitely return. Cost: Extremely affordable. Christine could probably charge way more than she does, she would definitely be worth it. All in all, a brilliant experience. I have absolutely nothing negative to report. I would not hesitate in recommending anyone to book an appointment. read more

The massage was exactly what I needed. Got the 90 min massage as a Christmas gift and it was perfect! Christine checked in with me before starting about areas of focus and pressure preference, then went to it. She did a great job, very professional, and the space was very clean. I highly recommend using her! read more

This was the best massage I've ever received - no exaggeration. Christine, the owner, was personable, kind, knowledgeable, and super respectful of my body and what would make me feel most comfortable. I feel great and will definitely return. I just received the most amazing chair massage. I have been a client of Christines since she started. Just when i think I have had the best massage, Christine suprises me with an even better one the next time. I feel amazing! Already looking forward to my next massage. read more

I've have been getting massages for years at various spas and massage parlors but I've never had a professional massage at home. I thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. Christine was very professional and she was well prepared for my massage. Christine used the appropriate pressure and she worked on the areas I needed more attention. I would highly recommend a private massage in the comfort of your own home. I was just as relaxed and comfortable at my house as I have been in the spas. Being at home allowed me to be less worried about running late, parking, and gathering my things when my massage was over. read more

Deep massages are very helpful to me because of various back and hip issues. I completed 1 1/2 years of monthly massage at another shop. Then I won a free message from Imani Massage at a church event and I have not looked back. Christine is very kind and accommodating. She explains everything and shares different things I can do to minimize my discomfort. I get really terrible muscle pains and spasms in my legs and back, hip, sciatica, you name it. My body seems to know when it's 4 weeks from my last massage because it speaks to me in a foreign language, like right now. Christine is very kind and straight forward. She knows her stuff and she works hard to make sure I leave feeling better. She really gets in the chronic areas and though I would experience some pain, it feels so much better after. If no pain, then it is not a proper massage for me. I cannot thank Christine enough for her great work and her genuine kindness. Can't wait for tomorrow's massage. Christine gives the best massages that I have had in my life. I've had many sports related injuries and pain and she's remedied a neck problem I've had for almost a year. She has a wonderful down to earth style and makes me feel comfortable. It is easy to book online. Because her prices are very affordable which makes it easy to schedule regular massages. read more

I relaxed the moment Christine placed her hands on my shoulders. She is talented, intuitive, and healing. After a long search for the right person (to replace someone who left Boston) I have found her. The space was fine; parking was easy. An A+ massage. read more

I know that when you see someone with all 5 star ratings, you might think that it's not real reviews, I know that's true for me. However, the reason Christine has all 5 star reviews is because she earns them. She was so friendly, so professional, and the massage was so good. I will go back to see her again, even though Jamaica Plain is no where near where I live. read more

My first massage from Christine was in 2015 when my friends and I found her from a web search. Since then, I have gone to Christine many times and she is ALWAYS amazing. She is friendly, accommodates schedules and multiple clients when she can. Each time I go, Christine provides a different experience, focusing on an area of my body that she feels needs the most work. One time she even helped me with leg stretches after a long race I had done. Christine is personable and professional, and always remembers things about me. I have always gone to Christine at her JP location at the Meeting Point, which is an amazing joint wellness community. The location is peaceful and easy to get to, and Christine's space is clean and tranquil. She creates a calming environment, and always makes sure you are comfortable. I just had another wonderful massage yesterday. Christine is amazing- I highly recommend! read more
