The studio is located on the fifth floor, but you have to pass through the fourth floor to access it. L'Éloi is huge, the terrace is beautiful and the view is amazing, you can have a glimpse at the Olympic Stadium from there ... The toilets are very clean and unisex (I love this). The Chromatic exhibition is amazingly showcased, they did a pretty good job! You really should go check it out, the art in the lobby is really worth a visit!

The owners are chill, funny and open minded and seem eager to work with diverse creative groups. The area is odd - it's always been surprising to me how sketchy this strip is given how many people pour past it every night something big goes down at the Bell Center. But the sketchiness has meant decades of cheap practice spaces, recording studios, lofts for underground events, and cool unexpected bright little zones of creativity like Shift Space, so: all hail sketchy.

Located right near Peel Metro you scoot up to the 7th floor, grab a number and in my case get called almost immediately. You can come without an appointment between 9am and 3pm and there was almost no one else there. I had a super kind and helpful agent who helped me figure out what I was missing, and then showed me how to use the computer and printer they have set up in the office for folks to use when they are missing documents. (You need to provide a copy of a return flight and at least one night booked at a hotel or hostel.) There is even a photobooth in the office so you can take you shots right there, and it's the coin operated kind like you find in the metro, ie; super simple and inexpensive. Here's hoping my application gets approved and on time for my next work trip since they hold on to your passport while they process your application, but she seemed unshakably confident that it would be there at 9am on the day she named. I have that feeling of triumph one gets after a successful encounter with bureaucracy and it's mostly due to the awesome service agent so yay, my first Yelp review of a foreign country's visa application center! So many stars!
