We also got quotes from other companies who had done the fences of our neighbors and all of the quotes for very close in price. Big Jerry's had someone out quickly to do the measurements (we preferred this to the online measure) and they were very communicative. They were also very helpful with sketches and measurements for the HoA. In order to get on the schedule, one must pay a 60% deposit. The schedule was about two months out for us. Big Jerry's also takes care of calling 811 prior to the installation date. The 811 person came about three days before the fence install. In the end, we had about 510 feet of fencing . Nelson was the main crew leader and he was excellent and friendly. The install took three days to complete (with 2-3 people working each day); we also had some rocky terrain. I also appreciated that Nelson reviewed the property lines again before installation and we came across a two foot encroachment along ~100 feet that hadn't been picked up by anyone. Thankfully the house next door was still under construction and we were able to rectify the issue quickly. Our yard slopes and Nelson and his team did a great job with installing the fence with the grade. We had a handyman here doing other work who also commented on the solid install job. We went with the Bellhaven model (pictured). My only complaint is that after sending the balance the day the job was done, I got a past due email the very next day! I had expected to have a few days to confirm there were no issues with the job prior to paying the balance. Fortunately, there was no additional "late" charge. I highly recommend Nelson of the Big Jerry's crew to do your fence.

I stated that I was in Greensboro, and was unaware of the fact that I needed to be home when the installers arrived she absolutely flew off the handle and threatened to "charge me" for wasting her installers time. I apologized, and stated that I was more than willing to reschedule if needed, but apparently, " rescheduling, wasn't an option." the installers ended up being able to wait until I was able to arrive back home. Weeks later, there has been complete radio silence. No call, no email, no follow up. I even called myself to check on the status and was told someone would get back to me that same day. Nobody ever did. It's honestly surprising how little effort was made to follow through with a potential customer who was ready to move forward ASAP. If you're too busy to take on new work, just say that upfront instead of wasting people's time. Very disappointing experience and I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Then, the driver proceeded to swerve in and out of their lane (we snapped a photo of them casually driving between two lanes) and cutting across the highway with no blinker. The one positive from the situation is that it was a stark lesson for my preteen daughter on how unsafe and hostile other drivers can be. Most companies I called did one or the other and not both. Edgar came right out, walked around the house with me, pointed out some additional damaged siding I'd overlooked and gave me a quote. He was up front with his pricing and even cautioned that finding an exact match to the siding (since mine was faded) could be difficult and it might look a little different. I gave Edgar a small piece of the siding that had fallen off the house to use for the match and he said he'd call in the next week to get the work done. Edgar did all the leg work to find matching siding, despite his caution the color he found looks to be exact (I can't tell it's different!) In just a matter of days from the estimate he called to say the crew was on their way and there was no need to rearrange my schedule to be there since all the work was on the outside. A day later Mary called to arrange for payment. Nice people, great service, fair pricing. Can't ask for better than that.

But my recent experience for the repair of a Stihl Kombi hedge trimmer was vert disappointing. On my call ahead and at drop off, there was no mention of needing the head unit to service. I run several other attachments, so I needed it to be in service while I waited for repair (quoted as 2 weeks). The next day I received a text that a Stihl dealer had no way of attaching it to a unit. So, I made my second trip there in 3 days to deliver the unit. I received a text to pick up the equipment and my request for blade sharpening was not "noted on the ticket" or performed. And to top it off, upon attaching the unit at home, the head is on almost backwards. I reached out to the general manager via text, Mr. Mack McCorkle, and there was no accountability taken, instead telling me that I did not review my service ticket & the head was brought in that way. At the end of the day, the head adjustment is simple, but what's really disappointing is the lack of accountability or customer focused service and offers to rectify the situation. I will certainly look elsewhere for my next service and purchase.
