I think I may have found my new favorite garage. I'd say the only downside is these folks are busy. They had a ton of cars out front. But as I thought about it, that's actually a good thing. It shows how well respected they are. The rep told me that oil changes are usually booked out 1-2 weeks but other services can usually be scheduled within a day. That's all very reasonable. Personally, I might do OilStop for my oil changes since I can usually just drive in when I'm free and their coupons make it a good deal. But I will probably bring my cars here for other services. Admittedly, I should have written this review years ago, but time passed, and I couldn't find the shop again until today, when I scoured Google Earth images of auto shops in and around Petaluma to find it. It was 2020. I was young, my dad had just passed away, and I was in shambles. I had decided to take a trip four hours from my home to his favorite beach, bringing with me only the dog that he and I loved and shared. I stopped for gas at the Valero next door, and when I went to start my car again, it wouldn't start. I was terrified. I had maybe $80 in my account, was three hours away from home, and had no experience with auto repair. I was fighting back tears, clueless, lost, with a dog to take care of and a car stuck at a gas station in an unfamiliar town. One of the gas station employees saw that I was distressed and pointed out an auto shop right next door. Hallelujah. Nervously, I walked over with my dog and explained my situation in the most responsible adult voice I could muster at the time--all while fighting back tears and choking on my words. They immediately jumped into action and were able to get my car over to the shop without having to tow it. They worked on my car as I sat nervously nearby with my impatient dog. I still worried about my situation. I was a mess--a young girl with basically no money, stranded, desperate, with no experience dealing with car mechanics. I was in a position where someone could have easily taken advantage of me and ripped me off. They came up to me about 45 minutes to an hour later (I honestly can't remember how long) and told me everything that had been wrong with my car, everything that had needed tweaking or adjusting, and a couple of parts they had to replace. I swallowed hard, bracing myself for the bill, ready to ask them if I could somehow finance it. I will never forget the look in the eyes of these nice men when they told me that it was on them and not to worry about it. I burst into tears as I told them what this meant to me and how much I needed the help. I still get chills to this day telling the story. This place was a miracle in my life. These men were guardian angels to me. This business saved me, made me believe in the goodness of humanity once more, and I will never forget what they did for me as long as I live. There is not a more deserving business out there, truly. Any business or support you can offer them is more than well-deserved. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, gentlemen. Our son's Ram 2500 diesel was having transmission problems and we took it to Empire Automotive on a Thursday for diagnostics. Chris called me the next morning to let me know the transmission was in fact toast and would need replacement. However, he had good news for us. He saw a warranty sticker on the transmission and called the company and found out the transmission was still under warranty. The transmission company sent out a replacement transmission free of charge and helped cover the cost of the installation. Chris installed the new transmission and made sure it was all dialed in by the following Wednesday. I was only charged for the diagnostic and installation of the transmission, which was very reasonably priced and I will get reimbursed for a big chunk of it from the transmission company to boot. I appreciate their honesty and integrity with their customers, and I never felt like they were trying to pad their profits. Just good folks looking out for their customers. They could have just as easily ignored the sticker, like I'm sure occurs more than we know at other garages, and charged us for a transmission as well, since we had no idea the transmission had a warranty when we bought it. They have certainly won my trust and I will not hesitate to take my vehicles there going forward. Recently Chad had come into my work and I had made a comment that I needed to contact their business to get a price quote for 4 new tires for my SUV and specifically for Michelin tires. He asked the make and model of my vehicle and within minutes of him returning back to Big O Tires I received a phone call from him with the cost for 4 new tires which included mounting, disposal of the old tires and alignment if needed. Of course, living in Petaluma an alignment was a given. He also mentioned that the tires weren't in their store but was only a day or 2 away. Two weeks later I called up to have Chad order the tires and schedule an appointment for Saturday 09/04/21 and mentioned I would drop off the vehicle the day before. A few days later I received a call that the tires were in so I decided to drop my car off on Friday the 3rd during my lunch time. Chad was out for lunch and Randy checked in the car and said he didn't see why they couldn't get the car done by the time they closed at 5:00pm but would have Chad call when he returns. He did call and confirmed that it would be done before 5:00pm. They are special order lugs so I had more at home and didnt want to argue so I let it go. After about two weeks a slight grinding noise started. Got louder and brought the car to Mercedes.
