I dont remember clearly my appointment was at 11:25 or 11:45 but i still came in early at 11:15. The 2 ladies at the front desk told me to sit down and wait, so i did. Waited until 12, still no one takes me in or even check on me if i needed help. Asked the front desk, she said she never checks me in (?) basically saying its my fault while i was the only ASIAN GIRL sitting there in the room (?) mind you it wasn't even that busy so it is impossible to say that they dont see me sitting for an hour like a idiot. Now the stylist says she has someone comes in in 15mins so she can take me in. Speechless. I dont want to say this place is RACE DISCRIMINATING but i dont have any better words for it. read more

I was so nervous to get my hair done, I've had some horror stories in the past. I was so completely and unbelievably blown away by Deseree. It's probably one of my favorite haircuts I've ever gotten. I left feeling younger and prettier than ever before. Aside from her outstanding talent, she was so so so kind and professional. She knew exactly what to do with my hair and how to make it look best with my face. She has gained a client for life. I really liked this salon, but did not like the stylist. She was late by 15 minutes, never apologized and I had to bring it to the receptionist attention. She then proceeded to dry cut my hair, after I requested it wash before cut, then washed it ( after I asked her again to wash it) and cut it again while wet! So she ended up taking twice as much off my hair after we discussed 2 -3 inches. Plus there are absolutely no layers or texture, it's blunt and awkward. I will go back to the salon but will use a different stylist as I saw so many great cut and colors! I hate to leave a mediocre review, but try the salon for sure and avoid the blonde - Kristin or Chrissy - she never introduced herself properly. read more

I've been there twice for a Xmas party style. The first time, my hair looked like a 10 year old did it. It was messy and not in a cute way. It looked sloppy. I should have said something but didn't. I gave them a second chance thinking it was just the stylist and maybe another would be better. A second stylist clearly didn't understand what I was asking for even after showing pictures. It was worse and looked like bad 80's hair. I pointed out the things I didn't like to her and she just stated, "Yeah but it looks like the pic." It didn't, at all. She refused to do anymore. I tipped (probably shouldn't have) and left. Brushed it out and had my daughter help me re-do it. My daughter had Prom makeup done there that looked terrible as well. Not blended well, foundation too dark, no eyeliner, no brows, no eyelashes. I can't image what a cut there would be like. Maybe more experienced stylists would do better. Today was my first visit to Image Makers salon. My appointment was with Doris to get a shellac manicure. Doris was extremely pleasant and gave me a quick and skillful French manicure using the shellac product, which is extremely durable. I asked her to make the French tips look realistic and she did, unlike others who have given me French manicures in the past. The end result was beautiful and I was so pleased to be able to show off my own nails (the shellac wasn't too thick either!), rather than be pressured into getting gel tips (like other salons have done). I'd HIGHLY recommend Doris! While I was there, I got a spray tan, using their Versa (Verso?) machine. I selected the deepest color tan. At first, the instructions seemed complicated and slightly intimidating, but after I got in the booth, it was easy to follow along with the voice prompts. The booth was clean and the booth locked for privacy. Once done, I did wish there was a little more drying time. Also, I am very fair skinned and my skin had a fine speckled appearance immediately after. The speckles were from the bronzer and help to "show" where you were tanned, so it was actually helpful. However, I was assured the speckles would go away after my first shower (6-8 hours after). I am not freckled, so I was glad to hear they'd wash off. I am a few hours from when initially spray tanned and I am pleased to say a deep, natural color is starting to develop! A couple of things to keep in mind: 1. If you need to go somewhere and be presentable immediately after (or within a 6 hour window), you'll have to be okay with slightly tacky skin and the little speckle dots on your body. Because you can't get wet during the developing time, forget about applying any kind of liquid makeup, too...or washing your hands for that matter. 2. The dry down time is fairly long to get out of the tacky stage. In fact, I went home immediately and used a hair dryer to try to speed the process. Still tacky. 3. Wear very loose fitting, dark colored clothing afterwards. I did get a little bronzer transfer on my clothes, but nothing too extreme. Just don't expect to be able to wear light colors and get no staining. It's just the name of the game. 4. Because the dry down time is long, stand in the booth's room and let your body dry a little longer before putting on your clothes. Even a short amount of time will make a huge difference against potential smearing or transfer onto your clothes! read more

I went to this salon alot and finally got tired of being the last choice for a particular stylist. I know, what does that mean. Well, if she was doing something that would get her more money she'd continue to talk and chat with that customer even if it meant be 15 minutes or later for my appointment. Also, if Iwas getting my haircut and a customer came in that would bring her more money they I got the chop chop hurry up job. After enough times with this I said I'm done. I really like the salon and how close it was but i felt this was unfair to me as a customer. I have gray curly hair. Enough said i don't need a dye job, perm, so my only requirement is a cut. **please see update at bottom of review** First, let me say that my stylist, Danielle, was very polite and professional. Wonderful conversations and genuinely showed interest in said conversations. The establishment was clean, organized, and not once during my visit on 10/09/2015 did I have a negative feeling. My low rating comes from the following days, which I can outing in a conversation that I had with a receptionist for Image Makers Salon today, 10/15/2015. I called Image Makers Salon to cancel an appointment for 12/02/2015 which was to be my next coloring appointment. I politely informed the receptionist why I was cancelling; "I had my hair colored this past Friday, washed it 3 times, and it's already very faded. I don't think that I will be returning given the amount of money that I paid and the fact this is already happening." I anticipated, at a minimum, a half-hearted apology for the experience and possibly an offer to have Danielle reach out to me. No. She responded with "your appointment has been canceled". So, still shocked, I politely said "thank you" to which she responded with an "uh huh" followed by the tone of my phone when a call has ended. Honestly, I have only used products on my hair in the past 6 days that Danielle said would be ok to use that I already have at home, so I am completely unsure why I'm already seeing blonde from where my hair was bleached. This was not the experience I expected from Image Makers Salon. Unfortunately I do not believe that I will be coming back. (cross posted) **Update: Upon further conversations with my stylist, Danielle, we were unable to come up with a time in her schedule for me to come back in and have my hair re-colored. My current work schedule seems to align perfectly with not allowing me the time to come in. So, I essentially paid $160 (before tip) for color that didn't even last a week. I believe it has spoken for itself though, as all of the girls at work have noticed how quickly this happened and have asked where exactly I went to for this. Not really the best advertising for IMS. Between the poor customer service when I initially called, and the lack of ability to schedule a time to correct this, I will for sure not be returning. I had to think long and hard about whether or not to write this review. I like this salon, and I usually like the people. The owners are usually there. The man is creepy, and walks around staring at everyone, and is not nice or polite. I've seen him treat customers really bad. the wife to. I could live with that but one night the lady owner who's name I can't remember, was drunk and yelling in the salon. She was grabbing at someone and yelling obviously drunk. Worst service ever. I only put one star because negative stars were not available. Made appointments for three people. Confirmed TWICE that stylist could cut and color biracial hair for nieces appointment. One appointment was cancelled, and then when we showed up for the appointment was told that the stylist who was scheduled to cut/color biracial hair actually was not able to do it. Appointment cancelled with no attempt to work towards a reschedule. My daughter had her her done with Rosie, and went in for a lot of blond highlights, and a cut. While doing my daughters hair, she mentioned that the salon "is in a primarily white area and that they don't really see biracial hair much" and don't have a lot of experience with it. Aside from that semi racial comment, my daughter came out with minimal highlights, and a messed up cut. While doing my daughters hair, she pulled her piercing causing it bleed, but was pretty rough. She also did not dry her hair because "she didn't want to blow germs around" even though many others were getting their hair dried and styled. I called and talked to Rosie who said I obviously didn't know the business and that she would have to deal with the tone for a while, could come back in for more color at a later date and that she could attempt to fix the cut. She did say that she was use to cutting dry hair and that due to scheduling time restraints, she had to cut her hair wet. Some excuse. Why not just cut her hair dry if that's what you are use to? She then said that they have been busy, phones ringing off the hook, and have been off for 6 weeks. I'm guessing that she lost her skill set in those six weeks by looking at my daughters hair. Had she taken the time to dry and style her hair she would have seen the color was not right, the line in her hair, and the messed up cut. read more

I've been here twice. The first lady I got did a good job, nothing extraordinary. The second lady cut a lot more than i wanted but by the feel of it, it still felt like she didn't cut it. She also didn't cut my bangs right. And then when i asked how much the total cost was i got "hmmm....um $30!" It sounds like she charged whatever came to her head and $30 is a lot because I just came in for a trim, and i got it cut dry with no shampoo or style. read more
