I originally wrote a one-star review for the call center two days ago because I was very frustrated…read moreand reluctant to keep my MRI appointment. I even called facilities within 100 miles to see if I could have the MRI done somewhere else so I could cancel this appointment. Unfortunately, I had no luck, so I decided to keep my appointment--and I am very glad I did. I want to give credit to the entire Stone Oak office staff for turning what I expected to be a stressful experience into a very positive one. The waiting room was very comfortable, and I received a friendly greeting when I checked in. Shortly afterward, the nurse introduced herself and explained that she would be placing an IV. I told her that I am claustrophobic, had a Valium available if needed, and also have an Inspire implant. She could tell that I was very nervous and immediately reached out to Ed, the MRI technologist. Ed took the time to speak with me and explain exactly what would happen during the scan. While we were discussing the procedure, I showed him the area of concern, which was primarily my pelvis. He noticed that the MRI order was for the abdomen, which would not have properly covered the area that needed to be scanned. He recognized that the order needed to be changed from an abdominal MRI to a pelvic MRI to ensure the correct area was evaluated. Ed personally walked me to the front desk, where the receptionist contacted the ordering physician's office. I also called Dr. Rivera myself, and he was able to provide a verbal order so we could proceed with the correct MRI. The MRI itself went much better than I expected. Ed played music during the scan, and a calming voice explained when I needed to hold my breath and what to expect throughout the procedure. That made a huge difference in helping me feel comfortable. Kudos to the entire Stone Oak staff! The nurse was incredibly sweet and attentive to how apprehensive I was, and Ed was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in making sure I received the correct scan. I truly appreciate everyone who took the extra time to make sure everything was done correctly. Thank you to the Stone Oak team for turning what started as a frustrating experience into one that I can honestly give five stars.

I went in to have an annual screening, then needed to return for a more extensive procedure and the professionalism and care were just absolutely wonderful. Erin and Ana! YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! Your kindness, attention to detail and excellent bedside manner need to be recorded in the BOOKS! What was so scary to me became easier because of you both. What astounding healthcare professionals you are. This is an amazing office with wonderful staff. I highly recommend them to anyone needing to use this service. You will not be disappointed.

So, just for precaution I had been referred here by my M.D. Just to make sure nothing was wrong internally, I had to get a few tests. The office was not that busy during the time I had went and I was called quickly. The staff was extremely nice, as well as the M.A.s. They made me feel like I was not just here for their paycheck. They treated me with sincerity even though I could barely consume the required Barium so they would be able to take pictures of my stomach. I was there for almost an hour before I could finish any. I eventually threw it up but they took care of me. In conclusion! I would most definitely refer others here!

I had several illnesses and procedures, 2 C-Sections, and always had professional care. Once, Dr. Akright stayed at the lab until 8:30pm to get my lab report, as he knew I was worried. He called me right away that night, instead of waiting until the next day to tell me the information. I think all offices have had issues with employees, especially since CoVid. Times are tough and we all need to have patience and kindness. Thanks NEOBGYN for everything you've done for me. Vicky Lambert Schafer

Dr. Womack is clearly uncomfortable with being asked to explain her rationale when making medical…read moredecisions different from those of other professionals in the office, becoming patronizingly gentle in tone rather than actually answering questions about past history and how it might interplay with current findings. At one point she made a recommendation to take a new hormone and when asked what the hormone was for refused to answer and then changed her recommendation to no hormones when I requested for her to explain a) what led her to disagree with her colleague's prior finding, b) what the recommended hormone was intended to achieve, and c) what would help address the actual concerns I was there for. When asked about the change in recommendation, she them repeatedly referenced my having complex medical history as a reason to not actually discuss concerns. It is a basic responsibility of medical professionals to be able to have an actual clinical rationale for their decisions about diagnosis and treatment AND to provide risks and benefits of completing any recommended treatments directly to patients. She refused to do either, perhaps because she could not which raises concerns of basic medical competence. I do not recommend this doctor, especially if you have any medical complexity or like to actually discuss your concerns or her clinical decision making.
