The workout is great and the so are the instructors. The only downfall is the music; it doesn't vary. The instructors are great, they know a lot about what they are teaching and they have a passion for it. The instructors also participate in the work out, which I admire. Once you've taken one spin or boxing class from Escape, your regular gym spin classes will be boring enough to put you to sleep. Escape uses blacklights because they believe fitness is about how you feel, not how you look. With loud music, high energy, great instructors, you'll finish your workout feeling stronger and more pumped up than ever. Memberships are a little out of my price range but drop in classes every few weeks are totally reasonable. I'll always be a fan of Escape and its unique workout experience.

I am still going strong at Kaia, and I wanted to write an update. I am on my 2nd Brik, and it's…read moreamazing the results from Brik that I am already feeling after week 3. Admittedly, I fell off track after I completed the first round. I kept working out, but eating out and social drinking got the best of me. I am back on Brik, and I have cut out almost all processed foods, limited my alcohol intake drastically, and cut back on coffee. But notice, I didn't say 100%. And that's the great thing. Some of the other gyms might recommend a chicken and broccoli only diet-Kaia doesn't do that. It's plant based, really delicious food, and it's not militant. I love that. As cliche as it sounds, they really are a lifestyle-nutrition, exercise, community . . .and I am drinking the (all natural) Kool aid. LOL I know that I will have my ups and downs, but I know that Kaia is consistently there for me to go get a great workout, be around genuinely nice people, laugh every morning at 5 a.m., and grow and learn more about ME-mind, body, soul. I feel like if I stick with it, I will continue to see great results. I would suggest Kaia to anyone looking for a home gym, where they can feel supported.

Stopped by Sunday Pilates for a much needed Pilates sesh, and unfortunately, this studio fell a bit…read moreshort of my expectations, and what I consider the the core philosophy of Pilates - to rehabilitate and strengthen the muscles. I'll preface this by saying I consider myself an intermediate level when it comes to my Pilates/lagree practice, with close to 100 classes under my belt and one year of experience in different studios in LA. I was excited seeing all the wonderful reviews, beautiful photos of the studio, and the Allegro 2 reformer (which I use every week), but instead of classical Pilates, this felt more like a Tracy Anderson-type exercise class where you're just kind of blindly following along what the teacher demonstrates. The class I took was very fast paced and an excellent cardio workout, but I could barely tell what the teacher was demonstrating (since we were all lying down on the reformer), and I could tell that quite a few of the other students in the class seemed to be struggling too, since everyone was doing a different version of the exercise being called. Most of the class was leg focused, with 30+ minutes of just jumping off the board and doing different leg exercises in the air before landing. While I understand that a light spring load was necessary for such a long leg-focused workout, I also found it dangerous since there's much less resistance, and a lot of us were slamming the reformer on accident or landing incorrectly/harshly, which can cause serious injury. Abs and arms were fine for me, but I definitely saw some other students who were struggling or completely could not do the exercises at all. The teacher didn't walk around or correct at all the entire class, and I felt like a lot of us could've benefited from extra attention given the high injury potential of the exercises we were doing. Front desk was nice but....really not attentive, and completely forgot to do intake + liability waivers for new clients. I had to remind her that I was still waiting to fill out the forms after class, and instead of finding online/physical paper forms (which most studios in my experience always carry), she asked us to go through our email/the website to find the forms ourselves and fill them out on our own time. Definitely a bit disappointed considering how much I wanted to love this studio and regularly incorporate my Pilates practice on my monthly visits to Reno, but unfortunately, this won't be the studio for me.

As a busy working mom , it was hard to find time in my schedule to dedicate an hour or more to go to the gym like I used to do. About a year ago, I discovered a new business in South Reno for target exercising with 2 sections , 20 min each weekly. I like this concept of " work hard " and being in and out in 20 min. There is science behind these machines and exercises. You may monitor your progress in muscle growth and strength at the computer monitors attached to each machine. They keep your weekly records to compare. The stuff is absolutely outstanding. I enjoy having a coach by my side while I am exercising to keep me motivated. I couldn't be happier with my results. I have noticed a difference in my muscles within the first couple of weeks. I highly recommend this business to anyone, especially busy moms

Not only does this Lagree studio provide a challenging workout, but there is such a sense of community. The owners Amie and Carli have taken the approach of cultivating a space open to anyone. But the most amazing part of Peach, is the teachers. I have gone to many Pilates/Lagree studios in Reno and this is the one where I have found such a depth in the quality of teachers. It seems like training is an integral part of Peach, and that shows in the instructors. I do have my personal favorites (looking at you Kaylee, Audrey, Perla, Amie) but every time I decide to take a different teacher due to some scheduling conflicts, I'm still loving the workout. I've also taken some classes with brand new teachers that I'm excited to take again. Finally, the space is absolutely beautiful.
