I was a bit apprehensive when I decided to go to a kickboxing gym. The gym experiences I had is the past were nothing but bad. Filled with egotistical roided out jocks. There is no problem like that whatsoever at Reno City Kickboxing. I am pleased with the amount I am learning during each session that I attend. I can actually feel myself getting better at this and more comfortable with Muay Thai. The staff is knowledgeable and eager to teach. Every experience I have had here so far has been productive and positive. The place is clean and well organized. They have the music on lockdown, always playing something that gets you moving. I am going to stick with this place. I really enjoy the time that I spend here.

Every single coach they have is great. They take the time to work with everyone and are always available for questions.

The vibe in this studio is so much more different in comparison to the old studio but I still like it. The workout although it doesn't involve a lot of cardio (jogging or running around the studio, jumping jacks, etc), feels intense because it concentrates a lot more with strength training. This week was my first day back since they transitioned mid last year and man, I feel SORE!!! My work had a lot of restrictions on what we can do as outside activities due to pandemic so I skipped moooonths of gym/studios. It was definitely great to be back and finally try out this new studio. There is PLENTY of space for social distancing, and each classes are limited to 20 people. The owner/instructor is a 5th Degree Black Belt that studied Taekwon-Do, BJJ / Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Kickboxing so rest assured you're going to get an excellent HYBRID workout! The schedule consist mainly of kickboxing which it transitioned from the old studio, and taekwon-do classes couple of nights a week! The classes are also ALL ages (from 8-12 and above) so you can even take your kids or young teens to work out with you! Their rate is reasonable and I believe it is great value for what you'll be receiving even if you're only able to attend twice week--but why only twice a week!?? I'm currently on nights so my schedule is limited to once or twice a week but when I return to days I can't wait to attend at least three times a week!!! The customer service is AWESOME!!! I got taken care of--with lots of love--with anything I needed from transitioning from my old studio membership to getting proper guidance during workout.

We pulled up to the facility and my husband had told me it was previously a boxing gym he used to work out at so he was familiar with the place. As we walked in, we were greeted and was advised to fill out a liability form. There are no shoes allowed on the mats, so there was definitely a smell of shoes, socks, feet (similar to walking into Chuck E. Cheese in the 90's) area but as you walk in further in the smell dissipates. We were advised not to play on the boxing ring, which was ok but everything else was open! The best things that I loved was that they offered activities for the kids to do: tug a war, obstacle course, and nerf gun playtime! I noticed the instructors of the gym were interacting with the kids whether it was being chased with nerf guns or playing tug a war. They were teaching some kids how to properly kick! They also allow outside food advising food may be eaten on the green turf/carpet area. 90 minutes of play time and 30 minutes of food time is perfect! This is definitely a great option for birthdays to get kids energy out in a safe environment!

She trained until she moved out of state at 16, and my daughter continues to hold her in the highest regard. She continued to teach my middle daughter until she left for ballet. In 2007 my three-year-old joined and continues to train. I have the utmost respect for her teaching style and the respect she shows to all the parents and students. In 2014, I was fortunate enough, ( pushed by my children) to begin exercise classes with Master Scott. After some setbacks, I left for several months and upon my return, I was welcomed like family. I could not ask for a closer system, one that builds on the foundation of respect, courage, kindness, and truth. Thank you Miss Denice and Master Scott ( and the rest of the team) for all you have encouraged our family to be. If you want loyalty, truth, and Martial arts at its finest, you must try this place.

The warm welcomes and fun lessons she gets from KJN Denise and the other instructors kept her interested, and now she is loving it. In addition to teaching her foundational skills in different styles of martial arts, they also focus on a lot of social emotional skills, which are invaluable. These classes have helped my daughter learn that she can do things that are difficult for her, and have helped build her confidence. It is my hope that she will continue with this program for many years to come!
