I was super devastated and frantically searched for someone nearby in Alameda to repair my car. I found Steamworks and reached out. Immediately, David said... I can come by to take a look at your car and give you a quote. 30 minutes later (if that) David was in my parking lot, assessing the damage and wiping off random bird poop stains off my car while telling me the detail and repair plan. I was in. He even offered to come pick up my car and drop it off for the service. I don't know how grateful I was for the straight forward feedback on repair and the before and after says it all. The quality of detail I received for the price was the best I've had in forever. I've paid $300 for detailing service and received crap back. How do I give more stars…read more I came to David at Steamworks after getting quotes from other shops that wanted to charge an arm and a leg for scratch repair and or new parts or just flat out rejected doing the work at all. What a difference. Before I even booked, David gave me a thorough, honest upfront assessment -- no overpromising, just a clear-eyed look at what was possible and what the process would involve and how much it would genuinely be and what else my car might need. I dropped my car off within a single day, he removed rust, corrected deep scratches across the rear quarter panels, polished and restored the paint, and even cleared up the headlights. The car looks almost brand new. The before and after difference is incredible. The price was insanely fair compared to what dealerships and other shops quoted me. If you're dealing with scratches, scuffs, or paint damage and don't want to get gouged, come here first. I scheduled service for Saturday morning and prior to my service time, Mike called to let me know he was running a bit late. He arrived when he said and prior to beginning any work, walked around the car with me wanting to know about areas with which I had concerns. We did the same for the interior of the car. Mike then explained the exterior and interior service he would be doing, along with the types of products he would be using. He then went about this business. Now my car was already in good condition, but after Mike was finished, he had bumped it up several layers. The outside of the car was shown at another level and the interior was clean. They are located in the parking lot of ArtHaus Studios and you can use the ArtHaus lounge while waiting for the detailing work to be done. Very comfortable and fast/ free wifi. Had to drop a review for Armando at ProTek Shine Studio, the guy seriously knows his stuff…read more A buddy of mine (who has the same car as me) recommended Armando, and after seeing his results and checking out ProTek's work on other high-end vehicles, I decided to go for it. I brought my car in for PPF, ceramic coating, and ceramic window tint. What stood out right away was how thorough Armando was during the initial consultation. Before he even gave me a quote, he carefully inspected the car for any paint flaws and actually pointed out some imperfections I didn't even realize were there. Instead of just wrapping over them, he took the time to correct as much as he could before starting the PPF install. The quality of the work is top-tier. The PPF looks clean and precise, the ceramic coating has made cleaning the car ridiculously easy (water just slides right off), and the ceramic tint was done perfectly. Armando is real, transparent, and super easy to talk to. No pressure, no sales gimmicks, just honest advice and quality work. If you're thinking about getting PPF or tint, do yourself a favor and talk to Armando first. Can't recommend him and ProTek enough.
