MOTB has been our second home for the last four years (2021-2025). After touring 16 daycares, I…read moreknew moments after walking into MOTB that it was the one, and I am pleased to say my instincts were right! Our first son was four months old when he started and Ms. Farideh helped me and my baby through the transition with care and compassion. When my second was born, it was incredibly comforting to know I already had a nurturing and safe environment for him once I returned to work. The teachers in the baby room (esp Ms. Carol!) adored my babies and will forever be second moms to my kiddos. In room 2, Ms. Esme and Ms. Farideh not only loved my kids but also partnered with us through big milestones like potty training, dropping the pacifier, and weaning. Both of my kids flourished in their educational environment from early math concepts to phonics to foreign language to art, it never ceases to amaze me how much my kids learn each day! This was also the class where my kids started to develop friendships and social skills. The other families at MOTB have been amazing and although we've moved out of the area we intend to keep these fantastic people in our lives! Room 3 with Ms. Thianga is where my eldest truly thrived. She supported his interests and built his confidence in the classroom. He was starting to read and doing arithmetic by his 4th birthday. She is so good at noticing a child's aptitude and cultivating it without creating any pressure. I can only hope my kids continue to have such great educators in their new schools. Any time I had questions or concerns, I was met with grace and support. The daily structure is well-balanced and they are true to the Montessori methods while still providing the warmth of smaller daycares. Some may find the limited use of the parent portal app to be lacking, but personally I felt it was spot on. I prefer my children's caregivers be primarily focused on the kids, not on curating photos and messages and tracking activities for parent updates. I always got the updates I needed at pickup/dropoff and was kept apprised of notable events. So for us, it was a perfect fit! My children have been safe, loved, and accepted for who they are at this school and as a parent I have felt a true partnership with the staff. I will be forever grateful for the foundation MOTB gave my children, it is truly priceless.

They have loved my children and helped them learn to do things for themselves, to be a good friend and classmate, and solid building blocks of their education. They've had excellent teachers and have been lucky to be in Mrs. Itzhels class for two years. It feels like family here and I'm really going to miss it as my boys go to kindergarten. One of the most important things about Gina is she really cares about the kids. She listened to him and what he wanted then worked to make our goals mesh. Even though college applications are over, Gina still reaches out to see how my son is doing and what he's decided to do about college. She is the best!!

I felt we needed to see someone who really understood my son and would give us the best direction, advice and guidance while beginning this stressful college application journey. After my consultation with Milly Roseman, my family felt motivated and optimistic for the first time. Milly was able to understand my son in one session and gave him the confidence he desperately needed. During his junior and senior years, we were exposed to the amazing resources at Growing Minds. Milly paired my son with a tutor to help prep him for AP's and his SAT. Emily would reach out regularly to ensure we met deadlines and Betsey would call me when we needed to see Milly or just to see how we were doing. Growing Minds was there in every aspect of this crazy college journey and there is no way my family could have survived it with out them. My son was accepted to over 11 schools, including his dream school and I have no doubt in the role Milly and Growing Minds had in this HUGE accomplishment. I have already hired them for my incoming 9th grader to ensure she has the best support, is one step ahead of her peers, and she has the best guidance moving through high school. ********* HIDDEN GEM OF PRESCHOOLS ********…read more This school is cutting-edge in emotional development and self-awareness skills. It hasn't been around that long, so you're not going to get much from research online. The only way to really know is to see for yourself. But to do that, you have to apply. Not because of a waitlist, but because they want to make sure it's a good fit. The kids here are hand-picked based on a number of criteria of both the parents and the children. Families drive from all over LA to have their child attend this school. One family, once their daughters moved on to kindergarten, loved the school so much that the parent's teamed up with Heart House to start an after school program for kindergarteners. It is my belief that having my daughter at the Heart House is absolutely the best gift I've ever given her, besides bringing her into this world (although I'm not sure what kind of world I brought her into, it's questionable these days). -------------------------- The Top 5 Benefits -------------------------- #1 A deeply connected, authentic soul-to-soul relationship with my daughter. A kind of relationship where there is mutual respect, honor, trust and admiration. #2 Becoming the mom I always wanted to be, getting out of my own way. I was spending a lot of time "trying" to be a good mommy, instead of letting go of the harsh, critical judgement that shrouded the days in tension and frustration and just acknowledging myself for the amazing mom that I was. #3 Having 100% support in navigating the growth & development opportunities as they come up. LOL! Seriously. - PARENT'S TALK: Every month we have a Parent's Talk, when all the parents and kids get together and we work through issues LIVE! - MOM'S MEDITATION: Every month we have a Mom's Meditation, where the mom's get together to meditate and take much needed "girl time" to connect and contribute to each other's sanity. - POWWOW: Every day after school there is a PowWow when the kids share about their day, Stacy gives a recap and the parents can ask questions and be a part of their day. THIS IS UNPRECEDENTED FOR PRESCHOOLS. #4 Peaceful easy mornings and evenings. No more crying at drop off and dousing my day with a bottle of wine at night. A sense of order and workability in the household. #5 The deep-rooted knowing, my "spidey-sense" that the effort and money spent now is going to pay off one-hundred fold as the years progress. Disrespect, talking back and emotional outbursts that can be cute at 2, 3 or 5, isn't as cute at 8, or 12, or 16. ----------------------------------- Once you apply, and get accepted. You will more than likely get my number as a reference and we can discuss further and more specifically. This is not a paid endorsement. I took the half an hour to write this because I was looking up something else on yelp and saw the lack of reviews and felt inextricably compelled to share and hopefully inspire more parents to check it out.
