Um overall the 3 principles are horrible at this school I would just like to say some of my most favorite teachers were ''Ms.McDaniel ,Ms.Tracey ,and Ms.mays two of those 3 left the school honestly it's so heartbreaking but I will have to get over it.k once had A fly in my muffin and they refused to let me Take A picture of it and instead they threw it away and gave me A new one. Some staff will push you to your breaking point will you will shut down because of it and it gets so overwhelming. If you want your kids to suffer and get overwhelmed then send them here it is also A open concept school.and also when smb told them About A boy assaulting my friend they did nothing about it but when your fighting they wanna care all about it you cannot trust some of the staff here as well have A nice day. This school is horrible I used to go here in September, and let me tell you it's horrible. Cons: The school is open concept (open concept means there are no walls or doors that separate the class) because of this kids are allowed to just walk into the class and talk to their friends, its also really hard to concentrate because it's loud and there is no walls, so you hear into other class rooms. The schedule is all over the place. When it's lunch time the students have to wait for the other grade to finish eating. lunch starts at 12:50 you eat at 1:15 The kids are all over the place. The kids are bad kids, they talk and cuss the teachers out, and they wander out of class. Because of this the school is really strict, they are obviously scarred/hurt. At the middle school orientation we spent hours going over the rules, and even when school started on the first 2 days they went over the rules in every class. The food is HORRIBLE! You might think im exaggerating but like the food here is wtf! Its gross, disgusting, despicable, trifling, ridiculously dumb, just horrendous. its like they got the lunch from behind a dump........... The bathrooms are clean but, the feminine products dispenser is always empty Pros: The school has a lot of activities/opportunities for the kids. Like at the middle school orientation they said that they will have field trips, chemistry, dissecting sharks and stuff like that.The electives are cool too, i signed up for art first semester and makery second semester, its amazing! My kid goes to iLEAD and he tells me about his day every time. From what I've heard and seen in his classroom, it is complete chaos! The school is lacking walls which prompts kids to gravitate to their friends during class time; because of this my kid is extremely distracted. It's not only my kid that has issues with distractions, according to him his classmates and friends are struggling too. Apparently, the school doesn't include a proper ceiling either!! This lack of coverage caused a huge leak to happen last year, where a student threw some sort of a heavy object upwards and it happened to hit a pipe. My kid has also stated there's an incredible lack of care put into the punishment system. Apparently, my kid has been called homophobic and hateful slurs and the councilers would do NOTHING in response. The bullying here is getting out of hand and I'm starting to worry for not only my son but my son's friends. I'm shocked by the amount of fights and the fact that the abusers that started those fights were let off with a slap on the wrist. I was also told by my kid that an 8th grader had fought with a 5th grader; apparently the confrontation got physical, too. The teacher to student ratio is insane. About 700 students and 30 staff members. Because of this ratio, when fights occur, often staff are outnumbered. Not to mention the pictures of food my son shows me are disturbing. He brings the school lunches home on Fridays and it's honestly no better than food served in prisons. My son has come home I'll from the rotten food served here. One day my son brought home a small carton of milk and it had mold on it, yuck! This school has an endless amount of issues that could be discussed for hours. I'm excited for my kid to finally leave this school. If you care about your kid at all, don't take them to iLEAD! read more

Monday May 5,2023 Got a call from ilead Lancaster saying my son was punched by another kid in school (none provoked) if any of you know him he's a kind loving kid that does NOT and will NOT fight back..this kid has been bullying my son since last year, we've asked his teacher to keep them apart in class (which was done) unfortunately they have other classes together and that information was not transferred to other teacher on campus..my son has had issues with bullies in this school since last year, his dad and I have been in to talk to the school director ONCE because every time we try to contact her we're told she's not in, they give us a email address to email her and set up a appointment and still will not get a reply..every time we've mentioned my son having issues with bullies they say their method of dealing with things is to have the kids sit together and talk it out..if us as grown adults have difficulties doing that how do they expect our kids to do so..since the incident occurred all they have been telling us is that the kid was having a really rough day (keep in my mind my son has had multiple rough days due to being bullied) it has gotten so bad in the past that he would fake being sick and throw tantrums to avoid going to school..for the school to say that the other kid was just having a bad day and have no real consequences is not ok..please if anybody is thinking of enrolling their kids to this school hoping they'd be safe from other kids bullying don't do it..they don't do anything to the bullies, they'd rather keep the misbehaved kids and loose the kids that behave. Sadly we can't transfer him schools due to it being end of the year but this is the last year he will be attending Ilead Lancaster and because of their "rules" my son has to give up his friendships he's made over the years and the connection he's made with the teachers there. read more

I didn't know this school and what was taught my kids started their during the pandemic. I do not agree with the kids not having homework how do we as parents know what our kids are being taught. If they need help in a specific area. The school seams to be more concerned with kids coming so they can get the money not trying to make great college bound students no homework is not realistic. read more

Even though is a small school, it allows for a lower student to teacher ratio, giving children more confidence when asking questions, engage in group activities, and opportunities for one-on-one time with the teachers. I've had contact with the staff for various things and contact with many of the parents concerning the school. My personal feeling is that the school fails on the academics which the kids need to learn to survive and be productive adults. I was torn whether or not to write this review but I feel it is my duty to share our experience. The positives: They have a great vision, they really do. I love their open-classroom set-up and really like the teacher's creative/positive attitude. The extremely downside of it all is: The majority of the kids are not learning at their level. My kindergarten for example...would come home with many creative drawings, coloring pages, cut & paste papers...but hardly any academic stuff. They gave the parents the sole responsibility to teach the kids all the academics while they focus on the "fun" stuff in class. I must say, the kids love not doing much writing, reading or math in school...just play, draw, and run around for hours, so I guess, this is why it works so well for them. I finally decided to pull my daughter out of school, just like many other parents have decided to do as well.... The school doesn't have the same accountability as the regular public school do, they don't test the same, they create their own and interpret their scores in the school's favor. My child is creative at heart, so I know she will forever have the creative spirit in her, but as a parent, my job is to ensure she is academically prepared for the future and this school just doesn't do that for them. It is very deceiving because they do make it seem as if they offer a lot of services and opportunities for your child, but it's just smoke and mirrors. They say hey offer a variety of languages, but quality is what really matters here...and i don't think that having a bilingual volunteer reading a 3 minute Spanish or Chinese book to your child should count as a foreign language lesson!!! Or having a group of 30 kids in a room, moving chess pieces around for 10 minutes---count as a chess lesson!! It is pretty pathethic.... My child was able to catch up to her kinder class in 3 weeks, now she is at their same level and ready to enter 1st grade in a few months..... read more

Let me start off with the staff is wonderful ... very warming and treats you like family but we had a lot of hiccups along our two year stay at iLEAD. I'm sorry to say but we are moving our son to a new school his 2nd grade yr. We loved the project base learning and the team work within the class ... you will not find that in any other school that I know of but our hiccups overwhelming brought us to this point in our son's life. The hiccups we had while our son was at iLEAD: 1st:Bullying and I understand that it can happen anywhere but we never got a email,call,text or letter sent home to us. We happened to find out it was happening by our son. An when I brought it up the school new about it. 2nd:Extended after school care they have is a free for all. The extended teacher's allow the children to run freely and they do not have any structure as far as board games, out side balls, acts an crafts, etc. 3rd:They are very disorganized when it comes to the school calendar, minimum days, after school events, field trips, etc. 4th:An the most important thing is the learning outside the project base learning skills. The basics of reading and writing skills weren't very strong! At first I thought just maybe our child was in some special needs of help the kindergarten teacher my son had did not listen to me when I first brought it up not until it was on her time then I had gotten a call for an SST meeting. At the end of his kindergarten year at our last SST meeting I had found out that in my son's class they had not only 5yr olds but 4yr olds and the 4yr olds would be going back into kindergarten again. In his 1st grade year things I thought were looking up an they did but very slowly. We had kept up with the SST meetings but something told me that my child was not in special needs of the school. So I found him a tutor. In the last SST meeting we had talked about an IEP test but I felt it was not needed because of just the little improvement my son had with just 2x's a wk at 2hrs a day. Our son now has been doing tutoring during the summer he can now read an write and we see the excitement in his eyes of learning. To note summer tutoring was 3x's a wk at 2hrs a day we did miss a few days during our summer vacation but he retained his learning. 5th:They are for volunteers witch is a wonderful thing but they allow the volunteers to bring the younger children to the school. Due to my work hrs I was unable to volunteer so I do thank anyone that volunteers because that means alot but they should not be able to bring younger children to the class rooms while they are volunteering. We have no hard feelings towards the school, staff, parents or children but we did have to do what was best for our son! read more

The concept is wonderful but there is no structure and no academics going on here. I only had her in one year wanted to take her out half way thru the school year but she was very attached to her friends. I thought she was going to get held back at her new schools her grades were all 40's and 50's in the beginning of the school year. It took her 5 weeks to get caught up with the rest of her class. I don't think hs kids who do drugs should be in the same building with little kids. Their supervision is minimal anything can happen there. I wish this school would get shut down so many little kids are getting lost in that system. I had my 10th grader in there too she was failing now getting a's and b's in a school that actually teaches. I hate it there. It's so sad read more

My son loves this school. He has a hard time learning and all the teacher have been wonderful and so patient with him...

My son started in their home-study program, and has transitioned to on-site learning. We have loved both options immensely! My son feels valued by his teacher and other iLead staff. The facilitators in his grade collaborate and integrate the kids for many projects and activities. I don't feel like his learning time is ever wasted, and they undertand kids' need to wiggle and change position! I am proud to have my son attend iLead! read more

I was in shock when my grandkids staring attending another school and find out how behind they were compared to the other kids in class . They attended ILEAD school last year, we thought it was a very good school, but after my granddaughter came one day very upset because the teacher ask her to go to the front and participate in the class she didn't know how to start , because they never thought her that class before , the others kids made fun of her . The teacher told my granddaughter that she needs help so she can catch up with the other kids . Now she's going to have tutoring. read more

My son was in iLead's onsite program for 2 years. He flourished and grew academically and socially. I love that they believe in using hands in stuff to teach the kids at all levels. They take the kids on lots of field trips. iLead also asks for parents to volunteer a certain amount of hours. They treat parents as part of the educational team. The students learn to be proactive and advocate for themselves. They have a new sports program they started, chess at every grade level and lots of after school programs as well like ballroom dancing. The school has changed and grown over the last 2 years and I'm looking forward to what they come up with next. Is it perfect? no there are things they are always changing up and making better. The women in the front office are EXTREMELY rude, the behaviors of the students are atrocious, many of the teachers do not have credentials, there's litter all around the "playground," its extremely loud because there are no walls and large amounts of kids are crammed into tiny spaces....... Everything that the other parent commented on in her review is absolutely right! I am so sorry I wasted so much of my daughter's time at this place! My wife and I couldn't be happier with Ilead! My daughters is excelling with incredible speed. Ilead is teaching our kids how to take responsibility for their school work and NOT I repeat NOT rely on the parents to come home from work and spend more time figuring it out.Studies show that charter schools are less stressful and more beneficial for a child's overall education. We know as adults how we get working 10-15 hour days, but we expect our children to be happy and productive with a 11 hour (including homework) school day. This review is about the Ilead school opened on Mccoy street in Simi valley,CA. My son joined Ilead with high hopes . the school is now called learning center and instead of grade class rooms, they have 5 labs- science,English, Math , Art and history. They are putting the kids of all ages together in one room with same kind of academic intelligence. I took a peak in science lab and was shocked to see that all the kids with different age groups were on Ipad (not sure what they were doing), the 60" TV on the wall was on full blast with some show about roller coaster and none of the kids were watching it. The room was so dark, it took me a minute to find a facilitator(Teacher ) sitting in the corner and on her phone. I am definitely taking my kid out of that unproductive environment. Traditional school maybe not making our kids astronauts but at least they are giving them basic skills so they can build something special for themselves. I am very disappointed by the school. I do love their philosophy but it will only work if they will group same age kids together first and then put them in separate groups based on their level in the same class room. mix and match of so many kids is just not productive. read more
