Spicier than I am used to, it was delicious. The beef kabobs were nicely flavoured!. The coleslaw was a nice crisp touch. Hibiscus drink...well you just need to try it!!! For me, Sunfest is THE festival that starts off summer and festival season in London. With great…read moremusic, awesome food, and unique vendors, this festival is full of fun for everyone. There were lots of different local food options at this festival. From your typical festival food (fries, funnel cakes, etc), to Indian, Thai, and even Ethiopian. There was plenty of healthier options if that is more your taste. Keep in mind, the food section was rammed during dinnertime. Lots of lines and people trying to get through. It isn't easy and can be frustrating. There are multiple stages scattered throughout the park which offer a wide variety of music styles all weekend. I got to see a bit of Five Alarm Funk and the Samba Squad, both really great acts. People were dancing and having a great time. I really love the vendors at Sunfest. There are a lot from the Toronto area which adds a bit of variety in comparison to other festivals in Victoria Park. There are still tons of local vendors too which is nice because there are a ton of locally made products available. I don't get out to the markets as much as I should so its nice to see their wares displayed in the park. While this festival is super busy, it brings a welcome, positive buzz to the downtown core. Good vibes all around, I highly recommend!

Sunfest - This booth is not a restaurant but they do cater. Keep them in mind for something different than standard fare.

THEIR PLAYS MUST BE HORRIBLE BECAUSE THEY MUST NEED TO GET EVERY PENNY THEY CAN. Actually other…read morereviews on Trip Advisor say they are bad. Someone fraudulent used my Credit Card to purchase from them. I contacted them right away to let them know with my information to say whatever was bought with this credit card number is fraudulent because it wasn't me so they could figure out what was bought and maybe they could do something about it. Spoke to someone who said management will call you-NEVER DID, I called again a few days later and spoke to Anna, again gave all the details AND again was told management will call me, again NEVER DID. They must need money badly to have not do anything about fraud. Guess they figure that my credit card company would eat the charges, and they get their sale and I would not be responsible. DISGRACE OF AN ORGANIZATION TO NOT EVEN HAVE THE DECENCY TO CALL ME. So most likely someone bought a couple of tickets went for free and this piece of crap organization didn't want to do a thing about getting the individual. At least that's how it seems to me because they never called me as I was promised twice!

Happy 50th Birthday Elmira Maple Syrup Festival!…read more It was a cold cold overcast day. Maybe that was why the festival was not as crowded as I expected. Parking was easy, you have a choice to park at the various designated parking lot for $5 per vehicle and includes a wagon ride or you can go around and look for a parking spot in the surrounding residential area. Pancake lines was acceptable $5 for a 2 pancakes and drink. There was a tent area set up so you can enjoy some of those fluffy pancakes away from the cold gusty wind. I just wish there was more maple syrup! If you want to keepsake bottle of Maple Syrup commemorate the 50th anniversary of the event, you would need to pick up from one of the vendors here at the festival. There were quite a few food vendors, but most of them were serving up the usual carnival style food. Elmira Maple Syrup Festival is worth coming if you are in the area. It is the World largest Single Day Maple Syrup event and it is really community orientated. I would not mind coming back again on a nice warm spring day in the future!

3.5/5 Went to the…read moreElmira Maple Syrup Festival today. I took GRT there, which was extremely convenient as it only took about 30 minutes between Conestoga Mall and the festival site (bypassing all the car traffic on 85 and on Arthur). Arriving at around 12:30, the place was extremely busy. It was about as crowded as the nightclub just before last call, except people are all happy and it is kid-friendly. Some stuff I saw/went to include the sawmilling area, pancake flipping, and concerts at Gore Park. There was also an endless sea of food vendors...which is where 1.5 stars are eliminated. Seeing how this is a MAPLE SYRUP festival, I expected the food vendors to have some sort of maple syrup theme. At the very least, since we're in Waterloo Region, I expected the food vendors to have a German theme. However, there was a large vendor selling fajitas, falafel, shawarmas...etc. There was another vendor selling corn on the cob, and some more other vendors selling food that is not related to the festival at all. Maybe I'm being a little anal, but when the festival is advertised to have a maple syrup theme, I expect elements of it (including food) to revolve around the theme of maple syrup. That being said, I enjoyed my time up in Elmira today. Be warned though: I highly recommend you take GRT to get there (they operate extra buses that day anyway), as the process of being stuck in traffic and looking for parking can be quite agitating.
