We've had an excellent stay at Il Ruscello. We stayed only for one night but wished that we stayed longer. Il Ruscello get its name from the little stream that runs along the property, on the side where the guest rooms are located. When the door of the room is opened, you get the lovely sound of the stream. Matteo, our host, told us that it's very nice to leave the door opened during hot summer nights. We were there in May so it was still a little too cold at night to do this.
Our check-in was quick and painless. Matteo was waiting for us and showed us our room and the breakfast area. Breakfast is served between 8 am and 10 am and is composed of baked goods, jams (and Nutella of course), cereals, coffee, yogurt and fresh fruit. I probably forgot a couple of items, but the gist of it is that we left breakfast fully satiated. Matteo's wife (didn't catch her name :/) came 2 or 3 times to check on us and offered us more coffee or baked goods.
The area is really nice and natural-looking, the only downside is that it's a little bit out of town (which may or may not be a bad thing) and a little tricky to find. If you're coming from the highway, wait until you arrive at the first roundabout, and then take the very first exit, making your turn nearly a hairpin turn. You'll go back up the hill, except on the other side of the little valley. Drive another 2 km or so and you'll see a sign on your right for Il Ruscello.
Not sure whether we'll be back in the area anytime soon, but when we are, we're likely to come back to Il Ruscello. read more
