It's a miss. Pre-booked this hotel months ago. Arrived exhausted and ill to find loud renovations (no notification, apologies or reduced rate), very noisy from other guests after construction stopped, non-smoking rooms still stink of cigarettes, TVs don't work (due to construction?), spotty internet dropping service (due to construction?), hotel doesn't turn heat on in building so guests can't control room temp., excruciatingly slow elevator forcing you to take luggage up stairs (no luggage porter), carpet slips around on stairs. The next day, I cracked my head on a wall corner that juts out into the narrow stairwell climbing up to get breakfast and trying to pass by other hotel guests coming down.
Pros: They did allow us to drop off bags before check-in, have nice staff, are very close to train station, tried to (but did not) fix TV and cold room and have decent breakfast.
Pros didn't outweigh cons. Keep looking or if you are visiting Cinque Terra, just make it a day trip from Firenze/Florence (about two hours train ride with a transfer in Piza or just an hour from Piza, if you stay or stop there too) trains start around 6am and you can take a late train back to Firenze/Florence. I wish we had. read more
