This is a charming walk up room for rent with a private, separate bathroom. I wouldn't call this a B&B, as there was no breakfast served for the days that we stayed here.
There are 4 rooms for rent. Each room has an Italian Actress as the motif. We stayed in the Sofia room, and it was charming. Our room looked out onto the busy street with no balcony. It can be quite noisy if you leave the window open, which you will want to do, since there isn't air conditioning other than a ceiling fan.
After we checked in with Stefano at his restaurant across the street, (Mamma Mia's), his assistant walked us across the street, and showed us to our room, and explained that our room is the only one that has a private bathroom, and to make sure that we lock it so no one will come in and use it while we were staying there. The other three rooms had to share a bathroom.
There was a plate of sweet bread/quiche, and a basket of biscotti's by the door for everyone to have along with tea bags. In our room there were two packets of instant coffee, which if you've never used a keurig, took a minute to figure out.
The room was never "refreshed" for the time we stayed there, so we had to reuse the same towels, and linens. There is also no TV in the rooms.
Great location for the rooms as the rooms are closer to the train station than other B&B options, which is a big plus not having to climb that big hill, although there is a baggage service in town.
When we checked in we were given a 10% discount at one of the restaurants up the hill, we decided to try it out since we had never been here before. We appreciated the discount, buy found the food sub-par for our tastes. All in all I would stay here again in this "no frills" charming room. read more
