I feel sort of disappointed after looking at the other reviews. I must have ordered the wrong thing because my experience wasn't as magical. It wasn't bad, but I've had plenty of better dishes in Rome.
A friend and I stopped in late on a Monday evening after looking EVERYWHERE for a place to eat in Frascati. Our hotel failed to tell us that restaurants in the area close early during the week so we walked around aimlessly until we found this place. It was super crowded, which I believe is because they have a hotel attached. The staff was happy to seat us in the back room though. The whole restaurant has a Pinocchio theme. I know... shocking!!! You'll see Pinocchio painted on the walls and small puppets adorning all of the rooms. Very interesting decor. I wish I knew more on the background of this restaurant and why they chose this theme. I wonder if there is some significance(?)
We ordered the pane pizza to start (because... when in Rome...) as well as the stuffed/fried olives which I heard are a must-try. These were both simple but very, very good. I can't have cheese so I went with a pasta dish for my main course. I ordered the pasta cooked with pancetta and I was kind of upset that I did. I know they freshly make their egg pasta but it was basically drowning in fat from the pancetta which took away from the experience. I was only able to eat a few bites and the oil was everywhere. It completely overpowered the pasta.
I will say though that the staff was super nice. They helped us to order a cab to our hotel since UBER doesn't work in Frascati as it does in Rome. I think it was really nice of them to do that for us. Our hotel didn't even help us as much as the staff here did!
If you come here, get the pizza. Or get anything else on the menu that isn't the oily pancetta pasta. And be sure to take tons of pictures with the decor. read more
