My friends and I were looking forward to enjoying the dining experience AND the food as the restaurant has a bit of a glamorous history from my research. The outdoor patio was very nice, especially at sunset, but it can get hot with the sun shining on your table before it goes down completely. At this price point/the location/reputation, I guess it's not so much about the value you get with the food. The seafood was fresh & all the dishes were tasty. So, from that perspective, the restaurant delivered on the food. We were let down by the service. The good - our hotel mixed up the dates & the hostess was very professional and gracious in finding us a table. Not so good - it all went a bit downhill from there. The captain that did the seating grumbled while setting up our table & gave us a look like we were clueless tourists. After getting seated, one of the hosts (not a manager, mind you) made it a point to come by & subtly let us know he made us a favor even though he wasn't the one we worked with directly. When we were given the menu, the main wait person was a bit snooty and acted like we may not be able to afford some items on the menu. My friend, who was paying for the dinner, had a Crazy Rich Asian moment and ordered everything off the menu. Guess they got the hint. The manager came by to welcome us & they changed staff who were much more pleasant & easier to engage with. After the meal, the earlier experiences still left a bit of undesirable aftertaste & we decided to skip dessert. We went for gelatos in the mall instead :-) What a shame. We had such an amazing experience at Le Grand restaurant the previous night that we were hoping for a two out of two. read more
