Service was efficient -- which was hard as the entire restaurant only had two staff -- they did a great job even as it got busy, making eye contact and acknowledging they would make it your way. The service, the waiter, the food, the wine, the decor, the ambiance... I can't say enough about how exceptional it was. WINE LIST Hands down the most unique wine list I've ever seen. It's a huge book with local wineries with the front labels of wine bottles glued to each page. Fabulous way to display wines! SALAD Salad special of the day was mixed herbs and greens from their garden and at first look it was just a bunch of greens, no other vegetables or even colors, and it was literally one of the best salads I've ever had in my life. SHRIMP CARBONARA Wide and thick cut pasta with pancetta and tender shrimp, I've never had a carbonara with shrimp so it was a nice addition that I'll be asking for when I'm at Italian restaurants back home SPAGHETTI The spaghetti was much too al dente and when we sent it back we got hell for it. It was the only dish I've sent back abroad because it was inedible vs not good. The pasta was crunchy and we didn't want to eat raw pasta. The chef that prepared it was very irate that the pasta was not undercooked and they were unwilling to make us new pasta. So we told them it was fine and that's when we ordered the second shrimp carbonara. They didn't end up charging us for the angry spaghetti. SERVICE Consistent throughout dinner. We didn't get the scenic views since we went to eat a late dinner and it was pretty chilly outside.

We came to Montalcino on our honeymoon. The incredible weather and the fresh Tuscan air is magnificent. As we made our rounds about the town, we came across Alle Logge after numerous positive reviews and even local recommendations. The location of the restaurant was perfect, but it was not enough to counteract the dismal service, low-quality of food, awful wine, and terrible bookkeeping. The server was only semi attentive to our needs. The wine was brought with bugs in it and when we asked for it to be exchanged, we were given a different, bad tasting wine and told it was the same one we received earlier (it was most definitely not). The pasta was flavorless and mediocre at best. And finally, the restaurant manager incorrectly tallied our bill and tried to overcharge. This is a restaurant that knows it will continue to get crowds of tourists and doesn't bother to take any pride in its craft. Overall a horrible experience, please spend your money elsewhere.

I am so glad we did! Outside you had about 15 tables and the wait was about 10-15 min for two. Unlike most slow paced spots in Italy here two waiters were running around non-stop making sure everyone is attended to - smiling along and making helpful suggestions. Menu was a delight - but that's nothing new for Tuscany. However, food was superb! I know it is hard to compare cold cuts, cheeses, pastas and secondis in this part of the world where everything is fresh and delicious. But cacio e pepe I had here was the best one I tried during our two week stay. The cold cuts board was also wonderful and quite generous. Selection of wines was plentiful and when I asked for a recommendation I really appreciated that the waiter did not simply go for the most expensive top of the list. Overall, wonderful spot with the most attentive staff.
