We had a meeting to cater in our North Haven, CT office on 7/25/18, expecting about 30 attendees. We needed additional tables and chairs which Bob was able to provide through a partner vendor he works with. Bob handled all logistics and pricing so we only had to deal with him for final payment. On the day of the event Mark came to set up, serve, and clean up and did a fabulous job on everything. There really is no need to go anywhere else if you need catering for your event - I know we won't!

The shop looks great after the recent updates under new ownership -- cleaner, brighter, more inviting space. That said, I was really let down on my first visit since the change. The grinder I got for lunch had noticeably less meat than before. What used to be a hearty, well-stacked sandwich with generous layers of cold cuts now felt skimpy on the protein -- probably about half (or less) the amount I was used to. The other components (cheese, veggies, hot sauce) were fine, but the lack of meat made it feel more like a veggie-heavy sub than the satisfying Italian combo I always counted on. Everything else was good -- friendly service, quick prep, fresh ingredients -- so I'm hoping this was just an off day or an adjustment period with the new team. I'd love to see the portions return to their old generous standard, because the foundation here is still strong. 2.5/5 stars from me right now. When it came to finding a caterer for my wedding, there was no one else that came close to the quality / value / attention to detail that Emily's Catering provides. Food is a big deal for my large Italian / Irish family, so we wanted to go "all out" and Emily's made it possible. My husband and I were able to pick up to 8 different Hors d'oeuvres to be passed out during the cocktail hour (most places only allow you to pick 2-3). The appetizers were not only delicious, but also extremely unique and fun! Some of the apps even came with a mini cocktail pairing! For example, the quesadilla app came with a mini don julio margarita! How fun is that?! My guests are still raving about the cocktail hour. We did a plated dinner with four different options, Chicken, Steak, Red Snapper or Portobello Mushroom (Vegetarian). Again, most places seem to limit you to only three options. We just kept getting more bang for our buck!! The portions were extremely generous and the flavors were to die for. We also had a late night pizza station, as well as ice cream bar / coffee station. I swear, my guests were just STUNNED by the fantastic variety. Emily's Catering surpassed our expectations. Essentially, my family and I were able to have a "baller" wedding for a reasonable price. The investment was well worth every penny and my husband and I could not be happier. Rick and Cheryl are highly professional individuals and a joy to work with.
