Excellent and Unforgettable!…read more This romantic villa set on a peaceful hillside is beautiful and has a charming ambience. The bedrooms feature private balconies with wonderful views of the breathtaking blue ocean. We enjoyed fabulous sunrises and sunsets on our balcony, sharing a glass of the local excellent wines. We spent a year planning our 30th wedding anniversary trip to Italy and our vacation at Villa Monica was easily our most memorable. Pascal and Monica, our hosts were AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. Villa Monica is literally a few minutes from Sorrento and Pascal's unbelievable shuttle service is like nothing I've ever seen. He graciously and willingly drives you in to Sorrento and in return picks you up, throughout the entire day and evening! First thing Pascal said to us is park your car here and leave it until your stay is done, WOW that was fantastic! Monica sets up a delightful breakfast located in the cozy and peaceful lounge, we love that there is also a terrace which you can choose to have your breakfast out on or simply relax. One of the most valuable assets was Pascal's uncompromising decisive information, whether it was providing information on a restaurant for lunch, must see places or a romantic dinner location (where they actually send a driver to pick you up and bring you back at no charge). Pascal's guidance was priceless and dearly missed when we travelled in other parts of Italy, so much so that we would text him jokingly from Tuscany asking for a restaurant recommendation and surprisingly he would once again offer us valuable information... OUTSTANDING! Parking is available on the gated property. We enjoyed every FABULOUS day at Villa Monica, Pascal and Monica felt like family very quickly. As a world traveller and expert reviewer I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Villa Monica. We can't wait to go back!

Because I am an avid fan, I wanted to show Villa Monica some love here. Finding it may be a bit tricky but with the use of google maps it was pretty easy to find. On top of that Pascal reached out to us a few days before and gave us directions on how to get there. Word of caution- the road is narrow and people drive crazy so be careful! I would also advise you to take the free shuttle they provide which has designated times and will take you from the villa to the city center. From there you can choose to take the ferry to Capri, and buses to the rest of the Amalfi Coast. Id driving, Ravello is about 1.5 hrs away and Positano 1hr. The view from our room was amazing (you get a view of the ocean) and the daily breakfast included (juices, coffee drinks, cold cuts, baked goods from his wife's bakery) were great. Only request I do have is maybe change the mattress as the one we stayed in felt tired and thin. We would definitely go back and stay there. Thank

WARNING: do NOT allow housekeeping in because they will take your stuff, if you do decide to stay…read morehere. We were on a romantic get away and spent a good amount of time at this hotel. We decided to allow house keeping to tidy our room a bit during one of the days. Unfortunately, we had euros, USD, and a US SIM card stolen from our room and we didn't notice until we were already at the airport. I don't take accusations lightly, but no way during our time in Italy have we even touched the bag that contained those "backup" items for emergencies, let alone our US SIM card (we've been using an EU SIM card). The hotel it self is very nice and beautiful, definitely a 4 star hotel. May this review be a warning to whomever is entrapped by the looks of this hotel.

Francesco was attentive and delightful at breakfast. Antonio was helpful and kind at any time. Maria runs a beautiful hotel complete with 16th century frescos on the ceilings of the dining area. Breakfast is a feast of local special meats and cheeses as well as Home Baked goodies and coffees. We have never left a place feeling the desire to return as soon as possible. This is the best location in Sorrento.

Maison Tofani - Freshly baked by Maria's recipes and even possibly by her. Language barrier but I think it's the latter.

Stayed here for two nights with my husband and I in one room and another couple in a separate room…read more Yes, there are a lot of stairs up to the floor that holds the B&B. 83, to be exact. When you arrive, make sure you buzz the buzzer and get Alfonso or his wife to put your luggage on the winch they have set up so you don't have to haul it up all those stairs. On a positive note, if you go up a few more stairs, they have a great terrace with a fantastic view over the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Our room was quite spacious, with a slanted ceiling and a sky light. Water pressure and temperature were good. Maybe it's just me, but I unfortunately found the mattress quite uncomfortable. I could feel many springs in my ribs and neck. It didn't bother my husband, but I have trouble sleeping as it is so it did bother me. I wouldn't go so far as to call this place a bed and breakfast. It's much more like a self catering apartment. The breakfast was very sparse and was pretty much just pre-packaged snack cakes and a couple of yogurts in the fridge. Both mornings we were there we went out to get breakfast on our own. Not something I look forward to when spending 90EUR/night on a B&B. There is a full kitchen so you can prepare any meals you like for yourself. Our total traveling party was eight people, with four of them staying at a different B&B. However, each night we all went up to our awesome terrace and drank wine and relaxed. Alfonso came up one night with some local wine and chatted with us for a while. The B&B was a good price for Sorrento, but things such as the breakfast were lacking compared to B&Bs I've stayed at elsewhere in Italy.
