We started with vino of course from a long selection of local Tuscany wines. We then split a vegetable salad that was topped with fresh balsamic and olive oil, bread, phenomenal Cacaio e Pepe and a pizza. They cook the pizza on a wood fire grill so we had to try it! One of the servers kept telling other tables about "cake" so of course we inquired and settled on chocolate. It was delicious! Service was great and accommodating to English which was helpful. Would recommend! Dining room also promotes conversation with close tables. We met a sweet pair of ladies on a girls trip and chatted it up with them over some dessert and vino. Lovely experience!

This is not a flashy and expensive meal that you will find inside of Lucca, this is simple and authentic. The tortelli is so good you will find yourself dreaming of the ragu and moist tortelli that are made daily in her kitchen. The traditional Tuscan bean soup that has been passed down in the Pucci family for over 200 years is one of the most flavorful and hearty soups you will ever be blessed to indulge in while her thinly sliced roast beef with garlic, olive oil and basil literally melts upon touching your tongue. If you are fortunate to be there after one of the locals has been out boar hunting, be sure to taste her wild boar over polenta! As for the wine, stay simple and order the wonderful house red that the Pucci's bottle and serve in classic liter crafts. There is plenty of free parking and of course there is wonderful coffee and desserts to finish the meal ... but do not leave without taking a peak inside of Maria Pia's kitchen. You will be moved when you see how clean and organized everything is kept, not to mention that the whole kitchen is run by a 70+ year old woman.

They walked us through a tasting of about 5 whites and 4 reds. Everyone in out group found a couple wines they really liked. They made shipping wine back to the US very simple and even called a local restaurant and asked them to stay open and await our arrival (which they gladly did). If you're in the area I recommend you eat there (Osteria Del Vecchio Oliva)..it's about a mile away.
