Had a sweet cheese glob in the center in the middle of all the cinnamon rings. Some nice fruit in the mix. Much more exciting than a normal morning bun. Brownie: Very dense and very rich. Had a gooey center. Pretty intense for breakfast, but you can save some for later in the afternoon for a pick me up.

It's run by a couple of ladies, both of whom had a very cheery disposition, and gave me a warm welcome. I bought myself a bottle of water and sat down to enjoy the relaxed ambience. The cafe had a very fresh feeling, with a few tables and chairs, some window seats, and a smattering of sofas. There was a wide range of hot and cold food, cakes, desserts and even Mackies ice cream on offer. Whilst I didn't sit outside in said outdoor seating (it was raining), I can see that it would be a pleasant place to have a seat outside. This place is a real find. Make sure to pay them a visit if you're in the area - you won't be disappointed!

I popped in today and there were 8 different beans on offer, how does one even choose?? I chose the much tweeted about Tiger Stripe & the amusingly named Moustache Twirler - which I'm told makes one want to grow a moustache if one doesn't have one already!! (Not sure my mo' growing abilities are up to scratch for this task!) Note that this is NOT a cafe.. there are no tables, no seats and they don't sell cups of coffee... they do however stock coffee cups, v60, aeropress, filters, ceramic hand grinders and hopefully soon, some tampers... In the place of seats and tables, you will find hessian bags of raw coffee, waiting to be roasted on site in the fabulous looking red Diedrich roaster. With an ethos of having a few staple beans & then a selection of 'when it's gone it's gone' beans, it will no doubt warrant many return visits to see what's on offer!

I had worried that I'd built it up in my head and my visit was actually going to be a disappointment. I was wrong! The tea room itself is very small, only 5 or so tables are in it, but it doesnt have a cramped feeling about it at all. Elaine knows the owner from being a regular visitor, but I was instantly welcomed and made to feel at home (she even remebered me from the last visit we had). We ordered then used the time to feed Evie (Elaine's 9 month old daughter) and catch up. All sandwiches are made fresh and there wasn't really a big wait for our afternoon tea to arrive. The cake stand was filled - it was a wonderful sight! Sandwiches, scones, macarons, miniature cupcakes, a chocolate teapot, handmade edible cups and swans. We'd ordered tea, and every teapot comes with its own hand knitted tea cosy on it - ours this time was bee themed. Lynn (the owner) had went out of her way to make our stand 'special' for us as she knew we'd had one previously. We got a top up of tea half way though which was no bother at all. Cake is also included with the tea. There's a selection on home made cakes displayed near the till. We were so full from all the goodies that we got them to take away. I choose the red velvet cheesecake and took it back to Glasgow to share with the hubby - his response was that it was 'decent'. High praise from him :) All in, we spent 90ish mins at Bon and felt right at home, there was no rushing us out the door. Lynn popped passed every so often to chat and see if we needed anything else. I would give this place 6 stars if I could - I love it to bits. I always say to people we need to go to Edinburgh just for this place, I really need to start doing it. It's fabulous.
