Excellent selection of entrees and sides for takeaway. It's a regular stop for us. We've not eaten upstairs yet, but suspect it will be good based on the deli experience. They also have a small counter in the back that we see people eating at, looks like they get takeaway and then eat in. Take a number if it's busy, and if you don't speak Italian there is nearly always someone who speaks English.

    Delicious!

Absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. From the delicious food to the charming staff. I'm from the United States and was in Vicenza on vacation. Everyone made me feel so welcome. I had the cheese and fruit plate and it had some of the best cheeses I've ever tasted in my life! My waitress was Eve and she went above and beyond - she spoke English very well, which I greatly appreciated. I'm so happy I stopped in this little gem for lunch. Bonus tip: The wine room downstairs is something to be seen!

Variety of prepared deli items to go

Ok, so I hate to ruin their pristine reputation, but I came here based on it being a top restaurant on TripAdvisor. I came for lunch. Got seated outside. After making a reservation for 20m after arrival. I would suggest reservations, even for lunch. The location is great for people watching. Service is excellent. Dining menu does *not* a list of the same as the items in the deli, but is good enough. Menu is offered in both English and Italian includes 3 different tasting flights. I got the cheese and cured meat menu, my friend got the vicenza fish special. Both were good, but not "top 3 restaurant in Vicenza" good. I think the very high rating is based off their deli. The deli selection looks superb. So. Much. Variety. So fresh looking. I didnt have a chance to try, but I will and probabaly add a star. As a restaurant, its 3.5* on Italy standards (which are far above American Standards, so still, good :) The deli offers prepared items to go, some deli type meats, wine, olive oils, vinegars, cheeses and a small selection of other dairy products (like milk, eggs, butter).

Wow!!! So impressed by this place!! It's like a high end buffet.... from amazing cheese choice to charcuterie to fresh pasta and finally so many Pre-made dishes ready to eat!! Octopus, paella, croquettas, everything that you could imagine!! They have a very sweet terrasse in the middle of the main road. Love love love this place!

It makes for a beautiful setting with Basilica Palladio as your backdrop. The host is very warm and welcoming. The menu has English descriptions We ordered: Ravioli con fiori di zucchini, stracciatella e pomodorini: It was delicious and they divided into 2 plates as our appetizer. All ingredients fresh and soft bread to clean it all up in the end. Costolette di Agnello con verdure di stagione: These lamb pops were thick and juicy with a very tasty crumb and herb crust. Amazing flavor combinations, bravo. Guancette di Maiale Brasate e pure di patate: Braised pork cheeks with mashed potatoes This was a very flavorful dish as well! The meat just falls apart and when combined with some of the potatoes makes for a delicious mouthful! Finished off with a Tiramisu Everything we tried was perfect. We gave 4 stars due to our server being worth about 2 stars. He was obviously treating us poorly and ignoring us due to the fact that we are Americans. Acting very distant and not helpful. He was very polite and helpful to the Italian families around us. He took their orders before ours, when they sat much later than us and he was very short when dealing with our table. He never checked on our table and we had to order dessert from the busboy. The rest of the serving staff was delightful.

Easy to make same day reservations especially during the weekdays, service was excellent, I prefer to dine inside but as the weather gets warmer they tend to sit you outside and that can be uncomfortable depending the temperature.

Restaurants were a bit better, and with some online research we found a couple spots that were (hopefully) open, and if not they were in an area where we'd be able to find *something* open within a short walk. Al Ritrovo was our first choice, and was very close to a stop for the #1 bus, right next to the Duomo, with a nice patio and modern looking interior (it opened in 2013), although we chose the patio on a beautiful evening. They must have been rocking 90s on 9 on Sirius, because Gangster's Paradise was playing when we arrived, followed by the Spice Girls' "Stop", and then "Da Funk" by Daft Punk, which I was very much down with. The kitchen wasn't going to be open for another 20m, so we took a look at their drink list and I picked a bottle of their valpolicella riposa. Wine came out with a glass of salted peanuts to hold us over. The valpolicella was very enjoyable, with slight tannin hit on the front, but with a smooth finish, and warm down the throat thanks to the 15.5% punch of this Venetian wine. I went with the fresh pasta and duck to start, and a signature Vicentini/Venetian dish - salted cod and polenta, or baccala. The pasta and duck were fantastic; the pasta was fresh, just slightly eggy and perfectly cooked. The duck was chopped and also cooked to just the right doneness, being moist enough to not need the sauce to save it. Speaking of which, the cream sauce was used with a light hand, with just enough to evenly coat everything but not eclipsing the pasta or duck. The cod and polenta was a bit disappointing presentation-wise, and was fine on execution, but didn't have the wow factor of the duck. The salt cod was in a creamy sauce but still maintained some of its distinct dried fish texture. The polenta had a slightly different flavour compared to most I've had, but I couldn't quite place it, and it wasn't bad. Could have just been the kind of polenta or a better quality than is available back home, and I just wasn't used to it. Service was attentive and professional. Wherever you're staying in Vicenza, you definitely want to swing by Al Ritrovo for some very well done traditional dishes at this modern restaurant.

They offered a glass of wine with my meal, and it was excellent. It is the first time, I have enjoyed wine with a meal. There were many courses on the menu, but being the typical American, I was just interested in one plate, which was Spaghetti with seafood. It was delicious! I really wanted to dine outside, but all the tables were reserved. I would definitely return and try the other dishes.
