Definitely one of the lesser experiences I've had in Italy. While the pasta was decent, the pizza was pretty abysmal. Just a mess of slop sat over moist bread. Furthermore, the service was terrible and would definitely destroy a date night. Our server left us for 30 minutes with empty glasses of wine and no check while she regularly moved around the area staring at her tablet and chatting with co-workers.

A large delicious salad with chicken and vegies.

Lovely surprise! Don't let the location on a busy street fool you, they've managed to create a oasis in a commercial business area. Our party of 10 was seated on the patio as we requested. The three kids we had with us enjoyed the playground while the adults enjoyed refreshing beverages while awaiting our meals. The kids weren't super excited about their pizza with hotdog slices on top but all of the adults enjoyed their selections. The place is charming both inside and out, the servers are efficient if not super friendly, the menu extensive and the prices as you would expect. Be sure to make a reservation as this is a popular place.

Nasty pizza! No taste! Wrong crusty! Over priced!

This place was horrible. Worse pizza I have had in my life. First the menu is a headache but I asked questions and gave it a try. Told the waiter 7 times to please make sure thin crust as the menu stated! He bring me a fat crust pizza and on top of it no sauce. The toppings tasted horrible. It was a waste of money. Pizza in the states taste better. Don't waste your time. Waiter never came to ask if we needed anything, didn't even ask why I only had one slice. Now I see why it was empty when I showed up.

While on our honeymoon and staying in Vicenza, my wife and I had a hard time finding anything open…read moreon a Monday, with most stores and all big tourist sites closed. Restaurants were a bit better, and with some online research we found a couple spots that were (hopefully) open, and if not they were in an area where we'd be able to find *something* open within a short walk. Al Ritrovo was our first choice, and was very close to a stop for the #1 bus, right next to the Duomo, with a nice patio and modern looking interior (it opened in 2013), although we chose the patio on a beautiful evening. They must have been rocking 90s on 9 on Sirius, because Gangster's Paradise was playing when we arrived, followed by the Spice Girls' "Stop", and then "Da Funk" by Daft Punk, which I was very much down with. The kitchen wasn't going to be open for another 20m, so we took a look at their drink list and I picked a bottle of their valpolicella riposa. Wine came out with a glass of salted peanuts to hold us over. The valpolicella was very enjoyable, with slight tannin hit on the front, but with a smooth finish, and warm down the throat thanks to the 15.5% punch of this Venetian wine. I went with the fresh pasta and duck to start, and a signature Vicentini/Venetian dish - salted cod and polenta, or baccala. The pasta and duck were fantastic; the pasta was fresh, just slightly eggy and perfectly cooked. The duck was chopped and also cooked to just the right doneness, being moist enough to not need the sauce to save it. Speaking of which, the cream sauce was used with a light hand, with just enough to evenly coat everything but not eclipsing the pasta or duck. The cod and polenta was a bit disappointing presentation-wise, and was fine on execution, but didn't have the wow factor of the duck. The salt cod was in a creamy sauce but still maintained some of its distinct dried fish texture. The polenta had a slightly different flavour compared to most I've had, but I couldn't quite place it, and it wasn't bad. Could have just been the kind of polenta or a better quality than is available back home, and I just wasn't used to it. Service was attentive and professional. Wherever you're staying in Vicenza, you definitely want to swing by Al Ritrovo for some very well done traditional dishes at this modern restaurant.

They offered a glass of wine with my meal, and it was excellent. It is the first time, I have enjoyed wine with a meal. There were many courses on the menu, but being the typical American, I was just interested in one plate, which was Spaghetti with seafood. It was delicious! I really wanted to dine outside, but all the tables were reserved. I would definitely return and try the other dishes.

Nothing makes for a better morning than a sweet pastry and a creamy cappuccino. Lucky for us,…read morePasticceria Tombolan is around the corner from our house with just that! Peruse their case and pick out the tastiest looking brioche. I recommend the frutti di bosco (berry) but you really can't go wrong with anything and then head to the coffee counter to order your drink. I say go cappuccino all the way, but you could do a macchiato, espresso, cafe americano (a cup of espresso and a cup of hot water, cracks me up every time)... Pick your poison! Then, head to a table and someone will bring your drinks to you when they're ready. Tombolan has a few tables inside and out. They also have lots of other, non-breakfast goodies like cakes, macaroons, etc. that are fun to take away. I like to buy a dozen when guests are in town, for special occasions, to take to work... Let's be honest, really I just like to buy a dozen, no excuse needed!

The Italian grandmother they have making their cappuccinos may be the finest part about this place. She makes them better than anywhere else I have had to this point, and that is 6 months of Italian cappuccinos for comparison. Their pastry offerings are also very good and normally have a wide variety to offer as well. All in all, this neighborhood pasticceria is a notch above most you will come across in this region. They will bring a smile to your face, oh yeah and the cappuccinos are only 1 euro 20 cents!
