Great home inspo! Hands down a fun day out if you're into home decorating/renovation/home anything! You can literally spend hours here and the staff are a great help. The food in the sit down restaurant isn't the best though they have plenty of vegetarian options aligned to each meat option it's limited. Cheap hot drinks and free if you're an ikea family member Monday to Friday only. Never tried so cant comment on the coffee. The only bug bearer is the layout as you kinda have to walk around the whole store to get to the exit...no short cuts but obvious why that's the case. I would say it's pretty much like any other IKEA however top things to watch out for are: -Bargain Corner is incredible, with some amazing deals (compared to IKEA Glasgow for instance) -Late opening hours are great (unless you work there...) -The store itself is pretty small but attracts a hell of a lot of people, which means it can feel cramped if you visit on a busy day - top tip, avoid bank holidays and Sundays! read more

Ikea is an enormous furniture store on the outskirts of Nottingham. I always find it a pleasure to visit because of the layout inside as you walk round the different sections there are rooms set up with a combination of the furniture to give you different design ideas. There is also a brilliant lighting section, as well as a fab kitchen department with loads of useful little gadgets and utensils, and very cheap kitchen ware. Part of the reason for Ikea's very low prices is that it is self-service you pick up a pencil and note paper as you enter the store, and make a note of the warehouse location of any furniture items you're interested in. Then when you reach the warehouse at the end you can easily find your items and take them to the checkout. I love Ikea furniture because it is smart and stylish, and very easy to put together once you get it home. This store also has a lovely little restaurant where you can get a coffee and cake or a full hot meal, and you can refill your hot drinks for free! If you sign up to their loyalty card you can even get free drinks, and they will also send you vouchers and offers through the post. Because of its popularity the store can get incredibly busy I have only been at the weekend once and it was absolutely packed, not a pleasant experience. But the store is open until 10pm most nights, so I'd advise going in the evening rather than at the weekend as it's usually much quieter. read more

Don't get me wrong... I LOVE IKEA... just not this location. Yes, you are likely to have the same furniture as much of the western world, but it is convenient, some of it is stylish, and, most importantly, it is cheap-ish. I say cheap-ish because not everything is cheap... not to mention when you decide to go with a closet that needs all the additional bits which all cost extra. It is almost like Ryan Air... For the most part, this IKEA seems to have everything other IKEAs have, but the place feels smaller... OR it is always so crowded, thus making the place feel smaller. We have been a few times now and even on a weeknight it is still quite busy. The car park was under a bit of construction, which doesn't help because the car park is already so busy and crammed full. If you are trying to get in and out in a hurry... don't bother. The saving grace for me is that it is in a retail park with other stores like Decathalon, Next, and some home stores. Not to mention some restaurants (if you decide not to dine at the IKEA cafe) like Pizza Express, Nando's, and Subway. And of course there is a Costa and Starbucks. I guess when it is in a retail park like this, it is bound to be busy, but compared to the other IKEA locations we have been to, we don't exactly enjoy going to this one. read more

If you need to furnish a house quickly and for a relatively low price, go for it. However, don't be shocked if you go round to your neighbours' houses and find that their home is an exact mirror image of yours... even down to the art on the walls. We live close to the Coventry Ikea and the Birmingham Ikea is almist the same distance as Nottingham. However, Ikea Nottingham is our favourite one to go to.. The journey there is alot easier than trawling through Coventry or the horrid M6. It is not too far off Juction 26 of the M1 and when you get there they have a good sized car park. The store itself is on one level. The kids creche is great and we always try to get the kids in so that we can all enjoy what can be a stressful shopping experience. I find it alot better to get around as it is on one level. The layout is pretty much the same as all their stores so there is not much to comment about this. The cafe is a good size and the food is good with free refills on the tea/coffee. Another great thing about the location of Ikea Nottingham is that it is right next door to Decathalon and Next so once you have finished in Ikea you can drag the family there (much to their annoyance). read more

The place to buy cheap flat pack furniture. It is a way away from the city and can be hard to find. You walk around the store and can see the furniture set up in rooms. Then you walk through all the accessories including candle holders, pans, sponges, brushes, bedding and lighting. They have a cafe selling very cheap food. Store opening hours: Mon - Fri: 9am - 10pm Saturday: 9am - 8pm. They have a free supervised children's play area. read more

Wow, it's a big place. You need to go once to get your bearings - preferably on a weekday, during the day, otherwise it's manically busy. It is a shopping experience like no other. Get yourself a big yellow bag and a tiny pencil, and start walking. Two hours later you'll be loading up your car with more things than you knew you wanted - they'll all have funny names, and be in trademark Ikea colours. You'll have parted with more cash than you wanted to spend, but it's all okay because you can have a 50p hotdog to celebrate! Seriously - if you buy sensibly, there are hundreds of great deals to be had in the store. The restaurant is great. The kids play area is quite nice. Parking can be an issue, but now that the retail centre has opened across the way, I think alternative parking will get easier. read more

This Ikea can be easily reached by the rainbow 1 bus in town, so takes 30 mins to reach (apparently it's more confusing by car). The bus drops you off round the corner, so make sure you keep a look out during your journey. The store is pretty typical of any ikea store you'll visit, but it was relatively easy to find the bits I wanted to, and skip the beginning bit with all the furniture. Make you you bring extra plastic bags since you will end up overspending, as you can get nice bits for the kitchen for under a quid and lamps for £3. Can also be tricky to get all this back to the bus stop as well! Food is also cheap, so I'd recommend getting a souvenir hot dog! read more

Ikea is a great place, lots of cheap furniture ideal for students or first time buyers without a lot to spend, you can furnish a flat for a few hundred pounds. They basically have everything you'd want, pretty much all in flat pack so you can get most of it home in the car. They have a whole range of bedding, beds, cupboards and drawers, lamps and lights. The food here is worth a mention, it's very cheap and very good. They have a selection of meatballs and hot dogs, it's about £2 for a meal and they really are good. Also the drinks are cheap. You do have to carry the furniture about yourself, but at the prices you can't expect much more, the staff are friendly and helpful and it's a great place for a bargain! read more

Its quite far from the city, you can take a bus from Victoria Bus station with Trent Barton although you have to walk alittle from the bus stop (pain if you actually buy much). Huge place, I can spend hours here and run up mega bills with all those little things you buy. Shame they dont do home delivery well you can offline but they charge you loads of money for it. read more

Idea is a very affordable place to furnish your new home or just add some finishing touches. The store is huge which makes it a great place to browse around. You could spend hours here and still not be finished. It's a shame however that it is not in a more central location. Set in Giltbook next to the large Decathlon building, the store is rather out of the way. Although buses do go in that direction, for those without cars it can prove to be a bit of a struggle if you wish to buy anything of a bulky nature. read more

We usually visit this store when using IKEA in the Uk. The store was tidy and clean. HOWEVER! the restaurant food was abysmal....we both had fish and chips. Big mistake. The outer layer of the fish crumb was rock hard, tasted unpleasant and the fish itself was quite small and grey inside the hard coat. We regularly eat in the IKEA Nicosia ( Cyprus) branch where the food is fresh, well cooked and one of the best places to lunch! We often have fish and chips at Morrisons supermarkets......beautiful batter, thick white fish and really tasty. I can't see us eating at IKEA again any time soon! read more

Ikea is a bit like Heinz baked beans. Cheap and cheerful, ideal for some circumstances (like camping, or as part of a full English). I've always been very wary of going, but needs must and (as other reviewers have said) there is a lot of good design to choose from. There are some irritations that are part of the package. Lugging around heavy flat packs. Items not being in stock, and even the suppliers going bust. High delivery charges, long queues at peak times, and no certainty that you'll get everything you need on any particular visit. On one of mine, the item was in stock on the internet, but when I got to the store the machine to move the pallets had broken down and none of the 57 varieties (or whatever it was) could actually be reached. But when you do get the package home, and follow the tortuous assembly instructions, you will find yourself with some great designs for very little money. My advice would be to splash out as much as you can afford for better quality stuff, having seen how quickly chipboard can deteriorate. read more

There are many different styles to choose from and incorparates bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms etc right through to the ultensils that go in them. I was overwhelmed by the vastness of this store. They have everything from loo brushes to beds, and all at very affordable prices. However, I would say that the quality is reflected in those prices, and that the furniture is only meant to be short lived. Ikea seems to be to furniture as Primark is to fashion. The staff in here are helpful to some extent, but ask them anything that doesn't appear on their computer and they seem lost. Be warned that you have carry everything to the car, and assemble it at home. Although, for £35 they do offer delivery to mainland UK. The cafe serves seemingly quality food, organic meatballs and sauce with pasta yum, and has great facilities for those with babies. A feeding space and bottlewarming facilities. read more

Ikea has everything you would want or wish for house wise. Selling everything from cheap furniture, lighting, kitchens, pots and pans and even plants! The shop is well designed and thought out with a designated route or path through the store. You're taken through bedroom sets, kitchens and office set ups so you can view things made up and touch and feel. So you can see what you'd like to buy. Then you go into the warehouse to find it by the code number, but they make that easy too! Only one drawback is the long queues sometimes at the checkouts, but the thought of cheap hotdogs on the way out keeps you going! read more

I love Ikea, they have a huge selection of furniture and most of it is pretty cheap. You can furnish a room for very little money and the furniture is well made and lasts well over time. The best thing is that most of it is quite simple so you can mix and match different ranges with each other. You need to set aside a reasonable amount of time if you're visiting, just to walk around the store takes a while and it's easy to be distracted. The restaurant is great for a break and you can get a meal for a few pounds. read more

Ikea is a huge success story and deserves to be. The store at Giltbrook is easy to access but can be a challenge to park at busier times. The one thing needed on visiting Ikea is time a visit cannot be rushed. There is so much to see and the design of the store leads you in a set order to introduce you to many other potential items as you follow a path winding through the store. There is a good café serving breakfast or lunch plus sancks with a play area for young children. If you ring the store after reading the Ikea brochure you can check stock and find the location of your item to speed up your visit. read more

Very large IKEA. Easy to get too from the M1. Parking can be problematic at busy times, although the overflow including decathlon and next for a bit of a walk is ok. Kids area is great and I love the fact they can be left there safely whilst I grab a coofffee and some peace, and then an ice cream and drink for them is so cheap afterwards One of the largest IKEAs I have visited, its the usual follow the route round and grab you flat packs by the tills lay out. Ikea has a vast selection of modern furniture,lighting,kitchens,pot's and pan's and most thing's that you could want for your home.They all come at reasonable price's,furniture is the flat pack variety.Great restaurant and good value too,and child friendly.There is a creche and outdoor playground for the children. read more

Ikea has thought of everything for the average family out shopping, the whole store is family friendly, from the child accessible toilets with steps and potties available, to the facilities to warm baby food in the restaurant, and a quiet area to breastfeed if needed. They also have a free creche area, where you leave the kiddies for 45 mins, they are fully ofsted registered and give you a pager so you know if there's a problem. The furniture is fantastic quality from budget to expensive. They have obviously thought of everything and their flat packed furniture is almost a pleasure to build! The only downsides are the queues at peak times, and queues to load your car, and its hard to get out of the store with a pram if you don't need to load the car. There are plenty of mother and baby parking spaces, and canopies leading to the door, great in rain! When the country ground to a halt due to the snow, Ikea seemed as though it was untouched, the staff did a fantastic job of clearing and making safe the foot paths. I think that IKEA is great if you need any furniture for your house when you want something thats realy cheep or something thats abit more pricey. The store is massive and has a range of diiferent sections with different things like kitchens, bedroom and office things in them. I like how most things are there in a realy setting as it helps to imagin how they would look in your house. You can also get bits an bobs like plates and rugs which is good. Most of th furniture is in flat pack so i would recomend if you are going to buy something from there to be handy with abit of DIY. The staff there are always realy friendly and happy to help if you them to help you find something or if you want to order something. There is a small play area to leave the kids in while you look round for a small charge which is good. There is also a cafe to go and get somehting to eat and you can get some great meal deels in there and the hotdogs are great !! This is a great shop to browse , shop , eat or while away an hour. Its become a game to see who can find the funniest description of an item. ( my son holds the record) I havent bought any furniture from ikea but have many lamps , rugs , candles , pictures and vases . All which have been at a fantastic price. Its often a race around the store to get to the hot dogs at the end. The swedish food section is fun especially at christmas with the gingerbread. Ikea is a home store that has taken off over here in the last decade. Originally I don`t think many people would of considered buying from there as it was expensive but now the prices seem very good and the choice is huge. My first time in Ikea was a good experience and this store is big enough to spend at least a couple of hours wandering around for ideas for your home. Great selection of products and although some items maybe you could get cheaper at maybe supermarkets, most of the main products like sofas, chairs, beds are definitely worth looking at if you want a modern/individual styled home. The cafe/restaurant is great and although I wouldn`t normally bother with a store cafe, I`m pleased I did. The sandwiches were good and a good price. The Daim cake I had was great, large slice for £1.50...it puts other places to shame. They state that the reason their prices are cheaper is because you clear your own table...all we had to do was take our trays to the racking..if that`s what it takes to get great prices on great food then I hope all restaurants and cafes of this nature apply the same rules! A good experience and a great place for a few hours wandering. read more
