Pretty huge IKEA branch. The food is affordable and cheap, but mediocre. The meatballs on the other hand, is the star here. They have vegan and vegetarian options too. Tip: free tea or coffee for people with a membership card. Good customer service. Loads of options for home goods and their options keep on change. But I will be honest, not a fan of their kitchen supplies. Bought plates that kept on breaking for no reason. Prices at IKEA are going up, but they always have that one or two items that are extremely cheap and a catch. They also have some discounts and a room ful of great deals near the cashier for buying it as is, usually flawed or/and unboxed.

Well well well. Could you pick a better place to hang out whilst mildly hungover? Yes. You most certainly could. Isn't there something more pleasurable you could be doing on a Sunday? Yes. There most certainly is. But here's the thing. I just moved in a new place. i need new stuff. I don't have time to go wandering around town looking for laundry baskets and wardrobes and coat hooks. It's all in one place, simples, job's a good un. Now this trip on Sunday was my IKEA-cherry-poppin trip. So the obvious choice was to go straight for the meatballs. I'm not gonna lie. Most likely never going to get them again. If you're hungry, go for it, you get about twenty of the little fellas, all swimming in a kinda grey-brown type of sauce over a mountain of mashed potato. If you're not hungry, or are any way hungover, I suggest steering well clear. Now for the shop itself. It does what it says on the tin. They have literally every single thing you could ever possibly want in a house. I wouldn't be surprised if you asked one of the staff where their caterpillar sized cushions are and you were pointed in the correct direction. They have it laid out so that if you follow the flow and the direction of the arrows, you will get to see everything the place has to offer. There are however, downsides to this. Firstly, if you're just "popping in" to "grab something really quickly", forget it! It ain't gonna happen friend. Similarly, if you're only there to grab one thing and one thing only, it ain't gonna happen. I went in for said wardrobe, came out with a heart shaped light, a coat hook that looks like a dog's behind, and a lint-brush, amongst other 'bargain items' Self restraint (and padded fight gear) are what's called for here. Once ye have these, you're sweet!

Hell yes! IKEA... What a superstore! But when you got to an IKEA store, you get exactly what you expect, it does exactly what it says on the tin! Amazing / unbelievable amount of homeware, furniture as well as home accessories, this place is a mecca whenever you wanna put a fresh look to your house or just stock up on basics if you move/rent. I love the IKEA style, always contemporary and modern they have awesome instore displays which give you plenty of home inspiration for whether a small or large space, bedroom or kitchen. Also, king of storage... The options and ideas available here are second to none. This place is set up great, plenty of packing so no matter how busy... I've always been able to bag a parking space. They have great loading spaces however the only downside, if you purchase goods and need delivery, the process is very painful. You queue (often long queues) to purchase and pay, then you have to take your trolley and join another queue for the home delivery, also the more you send doesn't seem to make the delivery any cheaper, in fact the price gets more expensive which if I was to be kitting out a new house top to bottom, I think it would be cheaper to rent a van!

I am just in the door from a shopping trip and all five and a half hours were spent in the one shop, the mighty IKEA. It's like a big blue monster eating you up and digesting you for a few hours until its ready to eject you with a whole load of stuff you didnt have when you arrived. After three hours i was getting texts from my worried boyfriend at home, we only live in a small apartment and its not like im rolling in money or anything and i had been in there for a very long time. IKEA is just heaven for me, lots of home stuff, gorgeous colours glowing at you from every shelf, dreamy beds and fancy chairs and glorious lamps meet you at every corner. It makes you want to run out and buy a house so you can make an IKEA house, now of course i would not do that but still! The food is good too, all i can say is, dime cake. Unfortunately they did not have any in the little supermarket after the checkouts, so disappointing! One negative i will say is, the IKEA family card, dont bother it wont get you a penny off anything, for example after i had spent a fortune in the main store i did a mini shop in the food place, all my items were scanned through and the lady announced "17.80 please" and then i pipped up and said that i had a family card, ready for my discount! she dutifully swiped it through the machine and then i waited in anticipation, she then announced "17.80 please" not even a measly cent!

What can I say I just love Ikea! Make sure you've time on your hands!! Excellent value. Amazing homeware. Great value food. This place brings out the interior designer in you. I flew up today for some bits I needed so thought I'd leave a review for those who haven't been before. If not... You're missing out and in for a treat!. I skipped the top floor which is like a walk around house and display for larger peices. They have different sections Ie, bedding, sofas, kitchen, etc But some of it the whole room is on show and dressed you nearly feel like you're walking around someone's house -youd only wish to live in! I flew straight to the food.. I needed a bite as I'd missed lunch. I got Salmon fillet with pea and chips and hollindase sauce for a whole €6.50.... I know. Pricey-not! It was tasty and filled me up. Couldn't argue for that price. Plus you get free tea or coffee if you have an Ikea family card :) Onto the shopping. Downstairs is the 'shop' bit. You've every section for the home you could think of. Even material which is why I popped in. I got a lovely floral fabric on sale €3 a meter. Great buy. My favourite sections are lighting, bedding and candles and we'll everything really. If you need storage and organization Ikea is bound to sort you out with a stylish good value set up with a modern twist! I'm yet to try the breakfast but it's only a couple of Euro... Where else would you get it! Oh and they've a free creche to drop the kids off for some adult time :)

It may be small, but like Mr Kipling's cakes, it's exceedingly good. Lots of Swedish groceries, with an emphasis on tarts, frozen goods and chocolate, this is more of an area than a shop but I like it just the same. I was there for the famous meatballs, which you can get a big frozen bag of for €5.25. When I came to the head of the queue, the girl behind the till told me that they had a special on - for €4.95, I could get my meatballs, plus two packets of frozen mashed potato, two packets of cheese sauce and a jar of ligonberry jam. No, I have no idea what ligonberries are, but I was very glad to take them, and I went away to eat like a Swede.

There's been a lot of buzz about the new Ikea store in Dublin. All my friends have been talking about finding a lift to Ikea so they can outfit their apartments with Swedish furniture and cheap accessories. Located off the M50 Motorway and Ballymun Road, it can be a bit of a hassle to get to. But it's worth it, in my opinion. So, the Dublin shop sells out of a lot of the merchandise in the catalogue, but you can still get some great buys like a beautiful wood mirror for 20 Euro or a plant for 2 Euro. And then there's all those storage units: straw baskets for the wardrobe and the bathroom and a rack to arrange your scarves. Perfect! The Ikea experience can last a whole day. It takes a long time to walk through the showroom, find what you like, jot down the numbers of your item and finally get it in the warehouse. And once you get home, you still have to assemble the whole thing. Ugh, all this work doesn't sound so fun. One more thing, if you come here during weekday afternoons, you don't have to pay for parking. Anytime after 4pm and you'll spend a lot of money on the meter.

This place has caused a serious amount of controversy ever since the public got wind it was coming to Dublin in 2009. I don't know why - I've been dying for it to come for years. But people were worried about traffic etc but now it's here, I don't see what all the fuss was about! I went this week and there was no traffic or no trouble, but there was a fair amount of people - just a big blue and yellow shop in the middle of nowhere selling lots of stuff for your house! It basically has two floors - a showroom with lots of bedrooms, offices and kitchens all done up, and then a big warehouse type place with everything from glasses to bins, to baking trays, to mats and frames. Oh and they sell food too - Lidl/Aldi type stuff - and there is a restaurant and a little fast food place too. And all for really cheap! I have to admit I was a little disappointed with the place - it had been hyped up in the press so much that it was never going to be what I expected. Unfortunately I don't have a house to do up - if I did I'd be heading straight for Ikea. Hopefully it won't be still as busy then!!!
Eeps this Ikea is crazy, especially the battle for parking - lots of a**holes exist and you'll see crappily double parked cars everywhere...but then again it does serve ALL of Dublin area. Now if you want a review of the food - I love the frozen breakfast sausages. I love the pepparkakor (ginger thins that are like pebernodder). There's a pick and choose candy station, and other nordic goodies (picked herring, smoke salmon, meatballs, etc). During the holidays you can purchase Christmas trees near the garage area, which is a nice touch. read more
This is a review of the restaurant and not flat-pack world. Cafeteria style set-up moves the punters efficiently past the dainties before arriving at the hot meal counter. Rather cutely they have multi - storey trolleys to carry up to three trays. Great for dad to do his hunter - gatherer thing while mum pacifies the brats in the surprisingly large and airy dining area. The regular breakfast is huge for €3.95 but with toast and coffee extra. Still excellent value and freshly cooked. I've had a lot worse in swanky hotels. It's a caff. A good one that sets one up well for the sofa horrors awaiting. Downhill from here I fear. read more
Anytime I come here I always think of that Simpsons episode where Bart and Milhouse get locked in a shopping centre overnight. Oh if only somebody'd lock me in IKEA with no consequences! Such a simple idea, so brilliantly laid out, designed, and I think it has really made an impact in Ireland. Long gone are the days of running to six or seven different shops picking up random bits and pieces to assemble a room or home you've just moved into, and still after all that, there's always without fail, that something that you will inevitably forget. It's grand, the Swedish have sorted it, while making everybody's DIY skills go from lazy to above average! It's difficult to describe a furniture store I guess. Although I think it would prefer to be perceived as an "experience" rather than a store. Need furniture? Go! Don't need furniture? Go anyway! You'll end up buying something, if not a painting for the hallway, then a lightbulb. If all lightbulbs are working, an 85c hot dog perhaps? No? Ah well, come for the furniture, stay for the experience. Just bring the following list of items; 1. (non-treasure) Map, 2. Snacks, 3. Basket or Trolly of some sorts. Happy assembling folks! read more

Fun in the Big Blue Box! I love the furniture, the layout and the ideas i get by walking around!! The size of the place, it is so big that you nearly need a energy booster just to get around the 2 floors....the kids love it, the little houses within the store are a big favourite for theirs!! If you don't go for the furniture, go for the experience read more
3 star basically because the staffing levels around the area are not good now im a good shopper in these places looling for things i pay attention to the directions and kno where to go. I cant count how many times ive been in there and seen old couples literally baffeled and hav no idea what to do where to go and no syaff around to guide them. Ikea is huge and u can eadilt get turned around and lost. The floor staff in the products area where u get ur items are great however in the display area theres no onr and its very hard to find ur way around if ur not good at paying attention to directions ive a feeling that old couple i seen are still there. The stock is good wood is sturdy prices are great and very easy to assemble if u follow the instructions. Check out can be tricky sumtimes if u dont realise how big an item is flat packed . But it is olea cheap good furniture for any living space for the masses avoid goin thursday evenings or saturdays as its jammers read more

I must say, while I am not a big fan of the chaos of IKEA, I am a big big fan of the stuff you can buy there! I think IKEA really does do fairly good quality products at fairly reasonable prices! Mind you, it really all does add up. I don't mind the flat pack either, once you can get it all in the car to take home! :) read more
IKEA - the place in Dublin I most love to hate. It's really not a visit I ever look forward to but there is a lot to be said for the place. Where else can you spend only a few euro and get so much ? It's also a great place to get ideas especially when like me you live in a tiny space. Great to wander around the rooms and see what you could do with your little home space. The second reason to visit of course is the food. The restaurant is so cheap especially for breakfast at only €2.50 and most amazing of all a bacon roll for €1.50. The drinks have free refills and there are really lovely deserts too - only problem is which to choose. If you manage to resist the food on the way in they will probably catch you on the way out with the hot dogs and ice cream - just try and visit IKEA without eating anything ... I dare you !! read more

Ikea - the place to go when you need some new decoration ideas and the best reason to go there even if you are not moving is helping a friend - thank good I have a car and I am able to carry all of the stuff :) it is way to addictive! Colours is Ikea - you can find all kinda matches and make your life even more colourful! Just yesterday I bought pink, green, rainbow cushions I don't wanted and I actually a large standing mirror - it was cheap so I bought it :) Big of a PLUS POINT is that ikea is also reachable from City centre by direct bus, bit of a downside that it is only open until 8pm - 9pm would be better! read more

First time visit. I was very impressed. I'm not furniture expect. Have been in few Woodie's DIY only, but this IKEA packs a punch. It has everything from A to Z. There's a pathway built, so when you walk in, you go through it and meet specific furniture for specific areas, like bathroom, living room, kids furniture etc. So cool. I even found free rulers made out of paper and some pencils for you to write measurements down. Furniture is one thing, but they also gave some fast food on site, so you won't be starving. Free Wi-Fi provided with annoying sign up page. read more

You've no doubt heard about IKEA's long and strenuous journey to furnish the Irish middle classes, so I won't bore you with the details. The long and short of it is, it's here. Let's rejoice, spend an hour and a half stuck in traffic on the M50, a further three hours in the place, and cap it all off with a final five hours of finger-splintering, palm-blistering assembly of a six euro coffee table. But honestly, did you expect anything less from IKEA? We all knew it's self assembly goods, we all knew we'd be stuck in traffic and we all knew we'd spend hours in the place. But the fact of the matter is that IKEA is really good value. That's why we wanted it. Irish people love a bargain. Remember when Aldi first arrived in Ireland? The proletariat lost their shit altogether. And as foretold, we're doing the same for hunks of Swedish plastic. You're kind of herded through the aisles of homewear in IKEA. Everything is ordered by room, which seems logical, but if you only want to buy a rug, you'll have to go through kitchen, bathroom, media storage and bedroom before you get to textiles. The whole system is a bit of a pain, but it makes it a haven for serial browsers such as myself. The restaurant is fairly crappy to be honest, but again, cheap. My mate spent nearly half an hour queuing for a bowl of soup, while I was on my third cup of €1 coffee (free refills!) by the time he sat down to his salty carrot and coriander. If you're going be prepared, you'll probably be stuck in traffic and you will queue, but it's worth your while. I picked up some great stuff at great prices, but don't expect to be going back for a few months. Also, if you have kids, bring 'em. They will have the worlds best game of hide and seek here. read more

I like Ikea but more for the waling around and getting ideas. I like to buy the little things like mugs etc. I hate the actual flatpacks though- I had to put together furniture from here before and its no fun at all. I do fins the room layouts clever and I like the various ideas for small rooms. The kitchens are nice and while some of the sofas dont look like they will last a long time, they are an affordable option. I do think the cafe is a big draw too as its so cheap. Its always very busy and I think some people drive to Ikea for the food and not the fittings. read more

Everyone has their own 'type' of shop they prefer. A small antique shop. An expensive and luxurious furniture shop. Or, a Huge, Well organised, value-for-money furniture store that cannot disappoint. IKEA is definitely the latter of the list. IKEA has everything you could possibly want - or everything you didn't know you could possibly want - beautifully displayed in real-life room settings to give you inspiration and the motivation to see these ideas in your home. Before you visit the store, have a long browse at the IKEA website www.ikea.ie. You'll find everything that they sell at the store, check stock availability and check dimensions and you can even create a shopping list and print it out to bring along to the store. Make sure you join up to IKEA FAMILY, IKEA's loyalty card. With it you can get free tea and coffee in restaurant and other deals around the store. Once you have an idea where to find IKEA, it's a breeze to get to. Take J4 on the M50, and follow signs to Ballymun, then you see it. It's impossible to miss. A huge Blue and yellow box, Your one stop shop for furnishings, just follow sings to turn right for IKEA. Waiting at the traffic lights outside IKEA is kind of intimidating, as you feel that this huge blue monster is going to gobble you up. But once you get inside this big blue monster, your mind is twisted forever. There is loads of free parking at IKEA, the spaces closest to the entrance are reserved for the disabled and families, then the fun starts! When you walk through the doors, it feels great! Take a map, shopping list, tape measure and pencil, and continue on up-stairs. When you get up to markethall level, head up another set of stairs, and you're ready to just scream: "It's Amazing!!". You're now on Showroom & Restaurant level. Here you can eat from IKEA's restaurant. It has a very wide range, from salads, to deserts, to pastries and those famous meatballs, all at a very competitive price. Then set off to the showrooms. Here you get to see all furniture assembled. You get to go in and out of different room settings, even pop up houses, showing you how to use your furniture. Follow the arrows and footpaths through the many departments, through a fresh and light showroom. When you see something you like, write it down on your shopping list, to collect it later. When your finished looking around, you arrive at the stairs/lift to go downstairs to the markethall. The markethall was recently refurbished and is very impressive. Take a yellow bag/trolley. The markethall is the place where you pick up your little accessories and lighting, rugs, frames, candles, plates, pots, linens, curtains etc. (I guarantee you will go over budget!!) At the end of the markethall, you enter the self-serve furniture area, here you take a flatbed trolley to collect the items you wrote on your shopping list. All items are flat packed, so they're easy to bring home and assemble. Once you're ready, head to the checkouts. The staff are really helpful and the process is easy. Once you're finished, you can wrap up your products with complementary brown paper. You can visit the Bistro, for quick bites like hotdogs, or fill your own Ice cream cone for 60c. It's well worth a trip, by yourself or family read more
I suppose you either love or hate IKEA. I love it - as long as I go with a shopping list and stick to it. Otherwise it's far too tempting to get more things seeing how quirky and affordable most products are. And of course seeing them on display in the showroom gives ideas. I sometimes just come here to get a few things and go straight to the marketplace. It's nice that they have shortcuts to get there. Or I just go for some food shopping and then I can even skip the shop completely. It's been at least a year since I was there last and they reorganised some parts of the shop, including the restaurant has new furniture and layout. Maybe it's been there before but inly now I saw that they've a nursing area in the restaurant. I think, that's just brilliant and very thoughtful. read more

Contrary to popular opinion, I really like Ikea's meatballs. While the gravy is disappointing and gloopy, the meatballs themselves are tender, sweet, and tasty. And at under €5, they are very good value, too. Likewise, their fish and chips, and the unpronounceable almond, chocolate, and butterscotch cake get my vote. Oh, and the rest of the store is worth a look too. :-) read more

Shockingly bad. Ivepurchased several products over the years from Ikea but recently the standard of product has droped dramaticlly. I've had call to return two products in the last six months because pf bad quality. Be it missins screws or badly cut wood. If i could award no stars i would. Its not only because of the frustration of getting bad product but the time and travel in returning stuff as well is infuriating. When i asked customer service refused to refund my costs. even if they just paid the toll bridge costs for which i brougjt receipts. Never again read more

Ikea is a great place where you can literally find just about everything you could want or need in setting up your apartment. It is basically laid out show room style on the top floor with actual bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens all set up to display how different things they sell could look in your home. You generally just write down the item number and pick it up in the warehouse area downstairs. Assembly is quite easy, quick and efficiently planned to maximize both cost (lower prices are great) and ease of setup. You should probably make a day of it as there is no "quick Ikea trip". It takes quite awhile to walk through the maze of show rooms and the lower sales floor area as well. I have only ever come for 1-2 things and end up leaving with bags of things. Even if you are convinced that you have everything you could ever want in your apartment, you will find something you need at Ikea. Since you will be there so long, you will probably need to break for a meal. They have a handy, super cheap dining area and the prices are great (1.99 for meatballs and potatoes if I remember right). They also have chicken fingers, salmon, etc. If you join their family club you can also get free tea or coffee during the week. I highly recommend grabbing a frozen yogurt on the way out too. I think it is 50 cents or so (don't recall exactly) but they have a machine where you drop in the token and a cone and it draws out the perfect ice cream/yogurt cone, complete with strawberry or chocolate syrup. The perfect compliment to the end of a long day at Ikea! read more

Our mailman occasionally shoves awesome things into our mailbox, like the brand new2010 IKEA catalog. I picked it up and, I have to admit, I started jumping up and down. My boyfriend, who is from Argentina where they lack such vitals as bagels, brunch and salsa, stared quizzically at me, as per usual. So of course I dragged him there ASAP, which was easy because you can take the friggin bus (13/a) there!! Brilliant. IKEA is not your usual furniture store, ohhhh no. The entire place is set up as room vignettes; there is a section for bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, offices, living rooms, and kids spaces. In each area you can see all of IKEA's various offerings in terms of cabinetry, furniture and accessories. Each item has a tag on it with a name and number. You fill out the item details and proceed through the store picking out what you want. When you are done, you head downstairs to the warehouse area where you can buy all sorts of extras, like lighting, dishware, curtains and textiles, even plants! Then you enter another section where you pick up the items you selected upstairs. You might need to grab a trolley because everything comes in flat-pack boxes, meaning they are small but heavy! It also means you have to put them together yourself. This seems daunting, but the instructions are illustrated and pretty easy and I've always had fun putting stuff together. They also have a restaurant, which is super cheap and awesome. I highly recommend the Swedish meatballs, they're spectacular, The only thing people might dislike is that the store has a clear 'path' which you inevitably have to follow. If you forgot to write something down or want to show something to someone, you have to go all the way back through the store to that vignette. I don't mind wandering around this place for hours though, and I have to admit it's really fun to play house in! read more

Love the products but a delivery nightmare. I bought a number of items for an apartment on a Friday evening. Total cost €1,226. I think the products are great value and I found the staff in the store very helpful and pleasant. I didn't know before the order that Ikea delivers the next day, there's no flexibility around the delivery date or time. I was given a delivery slot of between 12-6 on the Saturday. Driver eventually called to say they could delivery at 10pm that night, which I couldn't do. Got a delivery on Sunday at 7.30pm to find that half the items were missing. Got a second delivery on Monday evening at 7.30pm and there were still items missing. There doesn't seem to be any person or team at Ikea taking responsibility for the delivery experience (timeline or having all items delivered). They gave me a refund of the picking service and delivery, €44 in total, after I asked for it. It wasn't enough to make up for 3 days of waiting for deliveries, driving back and forth to the delivery address and all the calls trying to find out what was happening. Either take the items with you in your car or if there are a lot of items, borrow a van if you can. I wouldn't recommend the delivery service. read more

I love Ikea - the sheer enormity of the place is amazing. I'd happily live surrounded by wall to wall Ikea furniture as the design and functionality of their products is second to none. The food in the eatery isn't too bad either! It's about time a value furniture supplier came to Ireland. It's just a pity that there's not a branch in Cork read more
The only reasons I would go to IKEA on a Saturday afternoon are because I'm: 1) insane 2) A glutton for punishment 3) my friend could only lend me his car on that day. So last Saturday I drove to Ballymun with my friend and an annoying GPS to freshen up all my stuff I have at home. I haven't bought anything in years. It was time. Miraculously we found a parking spot near enough to the entrance and prepared ourselves to be wowed with all the inexpensive necessities for my home. First, we took the tour of all the rooms of the house. I only wanted to go to the market area and get bedding and a new toilet seat. I know there's a short-cut but I blinked and missed it so had to suffer screaming children, screaming parents scolding their screaming children, crying children and parents who couldn't' give a crap anymore. Thank goodness for Durex and also the bottle of water and cinnamon roll I bought before continuing. So, finally to my ultimate destination and I managed to get most of what I wanted and coveted in the online catalogue. I think where this trip lost its stars was when my friend, who went and paid ahead of me, was told that her bedding was not allowed to be purchased and when she asked the manager who broke this news to her to get another set, she was refused. Now, you allllllll know that I'm about the customer service, and the staff are friendly enough there. But could you not get one of your yellow-shirted team members to get her another set? No, you lost €55 by not doing anything. Maybe that's just pocket change, but still. Finally, after checking out and just being €8 over budget, the obligatory hot dog/coke combo and quick trip to the Swedish shop for cheap biscuits and samples. No meatballs, despite the letter on the site claiming ignorance. read more

Disappointing shopping experience. Bought a kitchen tap (an expensive one!) When our plumber opened the box there were parts missing. Rang customer service who advised us to return it and check stock levels first to make sure they were still in stock. Stock level showed 5 in stock this morning so we returned the faulty one but were told that there were none left in stock, system hadn't been updated. Just checked their website now (20 minutes later) and stock level has been changed showing none in stock. Very poor, wouldn't encourage you to shop there. read more
I'm feeling better now that I've read Annie and Flash J's reviews. Yes, Ikea has everything and more you need to deck out your house and yes the staff are helpful the restaurant great i.e. when you eventually find it!! For someone like me who has a fear of big department stores at the best of times I found this place scary as hell. Follow the yellow brick road, follow the yellow brick road, don't stray off the path, God horror of horrors by the time I got to an exit I was in a lather of sweat having dumped my bits n'bobs that I didn't need but felt like it was necessary requisite to getting out of this place. This IKEA is at least 1/3 bigger than the one located in Tempe, AZ. I have to say the euro prices are comparable to the dollar prices in the US. I went with a roommate to get a set of tupperware and some tea towels. The prices are incredible, as I only spent 2.59 euro on everything. Perfect for students on a budget. Yes it is manic even now; It reminded me of Christmas shopping. Oh, the check out lady was really friendly! That's definitely a plus. read more

I wouldn't normally feel the need to review Ikea, after all... it's Ikea. We've all been to one at least once, we know what to expect, we go there for a purpose (whether it's meatballs or furniture) but of all the Ikeas in all the countries I've been to, I do have to say this one is actually disappointing. The thing I love so much about Ikea is that you always know what to expect, they have consistency down to a science, but clearly this location is the exception to the rule. It's very, very poorly stocked. I'm pretty shocked because that's the fundamental of any store and you'd think they should be on top of it. Any other Ikea I've been to I haven't had any problems with things being out of stock, or generally messy and unorganized, but that was very much the case here. Being that it is so far out of town (at least from where we are) and a pricey bus/cab ride to boot, it was really annoying to leave without a few essentials on our list. We always go out of our way to go to Ikea when we move, so we don't have to do a lot of running around to three different stores to accomplish what we can in an afternoon at Ikea. We went twice and both times we had an issue with stock... in every sense of the word. I haven't seen empty or disorganized shelves in any other Ikea, even the trays and cutlery in the cafeteria were totally out (so was my chocolate almond cake!!!) and no employee was making an effort to restock during the very busy weekend lunch rush. That said, it's Ikea. When they DO stock what you need, you know what to expect in terms of quality and price, so in the end we will of course be back. Plus, you know... chocolate cake :) read more

Really enjoyed your review Annie L, and I concur 100%. Lost and trapped! Ended up going through a 'staff only' door to end up somewhere even more confusing. I felt very freaked out by that. Why do they make it so hard to escape - surely for fire safety it should be easier to get out? I didn't even go around the store (that would have killed me), I left that to the rest of the family to 'enjoy' that experience. I people-watched in the vacuum of space, ...er I mean the cafe. I will only ever go back there if someone pays me an extraordinary amount of money! read more
Really? When I moved to Ireland for a year I went to IKEA, because in my experience, the IKEAs in Denmark, Germany, Austria and Swiss had a good service, cheap prices and most of their products in stock. But when I went there most of the products where not in the shelves or in stock and those people, who worked there were quite unfriendly and not at all eager to help me (I remember the department for bedroom garments...) read more

I love ikea!! But my only downfall is that I end up getting more things than I ever plan to get lol. I went in first thing in the morning to avoid it beening so mental had to wait to get down stairs as that part doesn't open till 10 would live to see the place open earlyer for people who don't like crowds. But I was talking a lovely employee in the children's department she was amazing never got her name tho. I will be back again it's my first choice for anything for the home read more
Ikea is great. I won't review the place too death as I'm sure it's quite a standard spot! I will warn that it is family shopping hell with children everywhere pushing trolley's into things on the weekend. Get there early to avoid the madness! read more

When I moved into my new home the dated and decrepit furniture was causing me a lot of anxiety. I went to IKEA to replace that furniture with simple but well made pieces (a standing shelf unit and a bookcase). It's always a pleasure to go, even though it's an hour and a half walk from my house (I don't drive and hate Dublin Bus). It's almost impossible to not find what you came in to look for. The only downside is that the delivery cost is absolutely horrible. €35 to deliver the two items to Ashtown is disgraceful. That's the only reason that this is only a four star review. Other than that, I love IKEA. read more

I was a big fan of Ikea and ordered a new kitchen incl appliances from them in June 2018 into a brand new space. Initially all seemed good, the kitchen designer had good ideas, the installers came out for a pre inspection identified 2 building requirements which the builders did. Then the problems started, deliveries arriving incomplete, and key things like wiring for the hob, need for extra sockets, cover up of vent which should have been moved not identified. New lino was torn & had to get them back to seal behind sink and fix shelf not working properly. It took 2 months of constant phone calls before fixed and promised refund of €150 which has still not arrived on Jan 1st! Avoid unless you know a lot about kitchens and have plenty of time on your hands to keep chasing them. On the plus side the kitchen does look well. read more
I love spending the day in IKEA! Such a magical place! I love it when you enter the store and you see rooms or offices arrangements. Then you see how everything is so cheap, your basket begins to fill and fill. Staff can be helpful but I like it here because it's self service! And at the end of it all you can buy some treats after cash point! I get so excited every time I'm going here! read more
Flat-pack shelves, flat-pack meatballs, flat-packed hot dogs. Ikea has it all. Like it or loathe it, everyone should experience it at least once, ideally on a quiet weekday when it is not absolutely mental. It truly has everything and the prices are very good. read more

have been there 3 times in december due moving in a new house. On 2 of 3 receipts they have scanned items twice where i had only one in my basket, it seems this sort of fraudulent overcharging is common there as the customer service was swift in replying to this and promising refund. This refund has not been received in after more than 2 weeks now so i am suspicious they had the intent to defraud and the arrogance to not refund as most irish are lazy enough to follow up on such matters. Not that it would matter from there and considering the moralistic aptitude of these piefaces smalltime fraudsters but there is other issues: - The online warehousing status is incorrect, mostly notable on items that have a high discount and may draw buyers in for this exact item. I have prepared a shopping list and neither the discounted chair cushion nor the discounted wardrobe set have been available any more when i came into the shop, as for the cushion it was sold out ä day ago"according the shop clerk i have asked about it. - Many items that are particular cheap or with low margin are not stocked at all, most notably the Cork tables and dining sets as well as wardrobe series that are avaiable in german and spanish Ikea franchises. This is a ripoff franchisee, even worse than most irish-run stores otherwise and not to be confused witha store refelcting the values i saw in Ikea when buying in non-irish run franchises fo this brand. Some may call it disgracefull and a shame, i agree ojn the shame partin full and mostly on the disgrace - part. recommandation: Avoid, Dunnes has better value for your Euro and where they have nothing to sell better mailorder what you want from one of the many internet sales places in the UK. read more

I like ikea but not now. This is the first time i heard of Email closed. Been waiting for am item to come back in stock now told no it is discontinued so why is it still online even found it under new items. Social distancing is bad ,families shopping where kids let play in wardrobes and furniture where people are trying to look at. Que for a while people joining other people in the que . read more

It was terrible, the food tasted bland and waiting for the cashier took twenty minutes, and finding everything was hard.
