Selling hot dogs topped with Mac & Cheese

$1.50 ikea hot dog topped with MAC & cheese?!?! Better than a Costco $1.50 hot dog? Well my sons say yes but do I? NOPE!

Your last chance to grab something before you go. Mainly some frozen items and cookies/candy, but they do have hotdogs as well. That said, just go back upstairs and get you some meatballs! The ambiance is hectic, and I feel like the line/waiting area is kinda disorganized, but whatever. Again, go back upstairs and get a proper meal. :P

Great pit stop after you shop! IKEA has a food court and a kid play area. Lots of room to sit and eat or you can take to go. There are also frozen items to buy for home cooking. Soda fountain and desserts available too! Lots of good deals weekly. Check them out.

For all the food I got for the price I got, $18 for three plates of food I can't complain. But I'd say 10 years ago in my opinion this place was a delicious place to have lunch. It tastes the same as it did 10-15 years ago, maybe it's because as we get older our taste palate gets more refined and obviously everything I ate here is processed. But no matter what I'd still come back for nostalgic reasons

The four chicken strips, was approximately $16. They looked healthy and good all the prices are excellent, but I think that the chicken strips were a little pricey for IKEA. - this is in comparison to the other items offered price-wise. There seem to have been a special needs school field trip or work experience outing today, that were enjoying their lunch, at the café. Sidenote; I couldn't find salad dressing, but apparently it was with the other condiment pumps. Additionally, if you want a to go bag, there aren't any, but they will give you a small food foldable box. We actually went here at 8 AM in the morning for breakfast, but they don't open till 10 AM. Also, some of the patrons, probably should've used the restroom facilities prior. Our family changed our seating location twice. - due to this.

One thing about me is that I love IKEA meatballs. If you ever get lost in IKEA, then you might stumble across their bistro or cafe-- or you can just follow the signs lol. The food is good, not great but not bad. It's a furniture store though, so there's nothing more to expect. Their meatballs are a quick and easy meal when you're balling on a budget. Let's be so real, it's kinda like an elevated microwave dinner. The service is also simple and easy.

I like coming here and trying out their hot dishes. This cafe is located upstairs but their showroom areas. This time I saw a few that I ah ent tried before and that's their smoke salmon salad (delicious) and their butter cod plate with mashed potatoes and peas. Both are quite tasty. There's always a long line so you have to be patient in getting your food. I like how they have mini trays and mini carts for you to carry your food to your table. Large dining area and good places for kids to play as well. One less star because they also put some cookies and wafers at this cafe but when I went to ask how much it was at the register, the staff didn't know as it couldn't ring up. She told me to go downstairs to buy it. What if my kids wanted to eat it now? I hope the fix this problem fast.

i love coming to ikea for an easy dinner whenever i'm in the area. the restaurant is easy to find on the second floor. there's many options to choose from but i enjoy the meatball meal. they also have desserts and other options to choose from. there is plenty of seating but it can get pretty busy during rush hour. the tables are pretty clean. service is standard, nothing amazing. although the cashier was very nice on the day i went.

Ikea Costa Mesa is great for furniture and variety, but the food service and checkout process really need improvement. The food court was painfully slow, only one person working, and the line was insane. It took forever just to grab a meal. The same issue happens at checkout, not enough cashiers, and the self-checkout line moves at a snail's pace. It's frustrating when everything else about the store is so well organized. Hope they add more staff to make the experience smoother!

I stopped by to meet some people at IKEA and also to check the furniture prices. I saw that they have a bistro here, so I decided to grab a hot dog and a cup of hot coffee. Everything you see in the photo cost me 3 dollars. I recommend it to everyone. Thank you

Convenient to order at the kiosk and receive your food fairly quickly. I can never just go to ikea without grabbing an ice cream cone. This time I tried their hot dog with toppings and it was surprisingly very satisfying! If you're an IKEA family member, you could get a free cup of coffee too. Simple but YUMS.

The store is okay, prices have increased of course but decent selection of new items. My complaint is that I went down to the Cafe for some snacks and I am disgusted by the filthy floors, covered in spills, dirty footprints, dirty chairs, filthy tables, just GROSS!!! So they have self checkouts to save money on employees, so no employees to actually mop the filth all over the place!! Do you think it is this way in Sweden, I Highly doubt that. Come on IKEA, pick up the pace!!!

    Kay D.

Always nice service and decent food, I love their meatballs. Only thing is for to go food they have like no real utensils and if your in a rush there's no way to just get food and walk out the door your gonna be walking for a minute.

Time for an update! We go to IKEA at least once a year, but I don't think we've ever gone more than…read moretwice a year. However, we always have lunch here when we do. The Swedish meatballs are the reason way. The seasoning, the gravy, the texture, the flavor, all great things about the Swedish Meatballs. Everything else on the menu is like an upscale employee cafe. I miss the red potatoes and they are now mashed. Peas are peas. I had the mac and cheese this time instead of peas, and it was OK. The garlic toast reminded me a Sizzler. Their fountain drinks are their house brand, but the diet cola wasn't bad. They do sell cans of a few Pepsi products if you're not adventurous. I had the Meatball special this time and my dining partner had the salmon for the first time. My meal was as expected. The salmon wasn't bad, just wasn't "oh wow" great. He also had a salad which was good. Besides almost everything being self-serve, the other odd thing was the size of the napkins. I know it's weird thing to complain about, but they are so small, you need one for each leg if you want to fully cover your lap. The kicker this time was the price. $40 for 2 people! Granted, salmon isn't cheap, and we did get a strawberry filled cake for desert that we split, but dang, it's getting pricey. Still, I'm going to always stop by and get my meatballs. And you can buy them frozen to take home, but for some reason, they never taste the same at home.

They also have a great spaghetti deal with meatballs that's totally worth it -- generous portions and amazing taste. I love the drink selection as well. Frankly, when walking into this store I wanted to buy half of the items I saw...and still might! After a lot of hemming and hawing we picked out a new table, chairs and bookcase. They were set to be delivered in about a week, but after a few days at home doing some head scratching and more measuring we decided to axe the table and go with another we initially thought wouldn't fit. We worked with Santos who was very patient and helpful in changing our order (at no cost...there IS a 14 day return policy). Items were delivered and installed today in about 45 minutes. Just need the chairs to get here in a couple weeks and we're good to go. That is, until I go back and plunk down some green for that living room chair I spent a lot of time in whilst the wife worked with Santos. Maybe I'm just a sucker for Scandinavian furniture but I really love this store.

So I asked what happens if there's any issues, shouldn't we be able to see it first before paying the remaining balance? Turns out we can't for whatever reason. So far it's not so great, but we'll move on. We show up to pay for the remaining balance, get all the paperwork squared away and.... they give us a postit to contact someone on gmail set up delivery. BRO LIKE WHAT?! We literally bought over $10k worth of furniture and you want us to set up delivery ourselves, after forcing us to come and pay for things we can't even see ahead of time? Good thing furniture isn't bought frequently cause I aint ever coming back here, let alone recommending this place to anyone. What's the point of employees and a showroom if you just make the customer do everything themselves anyway... sheesh.
