Every time I visit IKEA I start to subconsciously plan my visit to their cafeteria. Not only is this cafeteria cheap but they serve great food!! Now don't get me wrong it's not Michelin star good but when you can buy a satisfying bite with the change in your pocket it's a good thing! On this occasion I had one of their vegetation hotdogs which cost less than a pound! The hotdog tastes better than the normal Linda McCartney Iv had in the past. The bun is warm and soft and you can add crispy onions which I recommend! You finish the dog off with some mustard or ketchup or both! You can buy the signature mustard in the food store also! Fantastic value and great taste!! Drinks, doughnuts, ice cream and pastries are also available! If you do visit IKEA don't just rush through, find a second to visit the cafeteria or visit the fast food outlet near the tills!

I'm writing a review about Ikea's food rather than the furniture. I like how the food court is arranged here in B'ham. They also have many options you can choose from. To be honest, the food tastes very good and the place is so quiet! It's the perfect place for families, couples and friends to visit. I like that you have to clean after yourself when done eating. What I like the most is the price! I got a soft drink, a hot drink, an apple tart, meat balls as a main course, mashed potatoes, chicken pie, and soup only for 10£!!!
I love their meatballs with chips n cranberry. I have gone there just to eat lol but I always end up looking around the store snd buying something I didn't really need lol Great if you need some inspiration to brighten up your home. But back to the cafe. I was pleasantly surprised when I had dessert OMG! I love the tart I had, very nutty, wished I could remember what it was called cos I think they sell them in the food store bit. I did get a photo and trust me ....it was delicious! read more
Who loves a trip to IKEA? THIS GAL! I am going to work on the idea that you haven't ever been to IKEA before and give you the full roundup of the fun that awaits you on your first trip... 1) Parking. Parking at IKEA is a nightmare, especially if you go on a weekend. As a top tip; get there for opening. You should be able to find a space relatively easily and don't have to play the "round and around" the car park game. 2) Confusion. Don't get confused! Yes, a lot of stuff is pre-laid out into rooms as little slices of an ideal home, but you can still get the goods which are on displayu... that just comes later! 3) Bags. I would thoroughly recommend taking yourself some large bags from home if you want to avoid buying their gigantic "builders sand" style carriers. If you are purchasing furniture (which is another battle we will come on to), it comes in a box which you can pop straight into your car. If you are buying bigs and pieces, take a bag or two with you. 4) Small Items/linen/kitchen goods. Right... Don't panic about not finding what you want when you are walking around the room layouts... Everything becomes clear when you get to the marketplace. These areas are split into bedroom, storage, kitchen, bathroom and other areas, so if you're looking for something from a particular room layout you can find it here. 5) Furniture (the biggie). After the marketplace is the warehouse. This can be really daunting but the staff will be happy to point you in the right direction if you have noted down the name of the item you want. Be warned, some of the boxes will be very heavy (remember to bend with your knees). Last but not least... Food! There is a cafe and fast food stand in this IKEA store where you can buy everything from cute Swedish cakes to hotdogs (for a bargain £1). If you have an IKEA family card, you can claim a free coffee and tea in the week too! In summary... A first trip to IKEA can be stressful, but the staff are helpful and the prices are great for the product choice. Take a good look around as you never know what you might find (it's impossible to do the whole store in less than an hour) and don't forget that you can visit their little food shop at the end! This stocks a great range of Cider, frozen food, snacks and cakes! read more
I've not been to ikea for years, I used to love it, and I was scared that it was all nostalgia, and I'd hate myself and understand why so many couples argue here. Easy parking, a quick walk, and watching a bewildered man get stuck in the automatic doors before he'd even got in, and I was happy. I'd mainly agreed to drive the mother down in my last week off before my new job because she isn't too fond of navigating down there, and needed things for work- but knowing I have a new flat to furnish (and not enough space or money to fill it with the ridiculous hardwood antiques, drinks globes and vintage velvet wingbacks that I truly desire) we're going for a scandinavian look in the lounge, partly fuelled by our glorious trip to norway, partly by ikea is cheap. Laid out well, with packets of biscuits and aim bars scattered about to tempt you. There's a real range of costs in here, so it's fit for most budgets (sofa beds are a little steep considering their ugliness, but that is preference, I guess!) and you can kit out any room from here. They currently have some lovely textiles and garden/growing-in-your-kitchen type things, and some frightening prints too for good measure. The queue at the tills is never great, but if you fill your face with cake in the cafe, it makes things a little easier. read more

This Ikea has got better over the years, food is nice. Love to come here with husband during the week for a cup of tea and a look round. I can't give it 5 stars because it is not an easy place to get to if you don't have a car. Back in 2010 you could get a bus from Wednesday to here but that ended years ago. read more

Like it here. The car park is way to small to cope especially on the weekends but you know what you're getting with Ikea. Worth coming if you're into this stuff. Enjoy. read more
Most girls like to have a walk around Ikea...even though they don't need anything! (That's me) It is nice to catch up on decorative ideas and new trends. If you are looking for something specific you know in which department you can find it. If you need help from staff, it can sometimes be difficult to find somebody. But once you have found someone they are helpful and friendly. My tip - The hot dog bar should offer onions & pickles for free. That is the standard in Germany and I was a little bit surprised to pay extra :-D read more

Love, love, love this place. Can spend all day here mooching around. Great for ideas and money saving cheats. Love the food here too save money with the Ikea family card. The breakfasts are of good value and during the week with the family card can have a free hot drink. The kids love the meatball meals and no trip is complete without the ice cream as you leave checkout. read more

I'm about to sound extremely sad, but Ikea's a great place to take the kids. Not on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, granted. I can heartily recommend turning up first thing on a Saturday morning tho. After one particularly rough night of teething and no sleep (and that was just my daughter) we arrived shortly before opening time, looking for a new bed. We had no problems getting round, there were plenty of opportunities for the children to bounce round the beds and 'test' them out. Plus, the children's bedroom section saw a happy 10 minutes playing with the toys. The cafe does a great deal and you can get free refills with your drinks as many times as you can manage. Also, for my food challenged eldest, they do chips with gravy, even at 11am. We bought the bed, and a load of other stuff that we never knew we needed and had two sleeping kids on the way home in the car, and it was still only lunch time. Result. read more

This store is very conveniantly placed just off junc 9 of the M6 in Wednesbury (just outside Walsall). It is packed with wonderful stuff for your home, most at very reasonable prices. The larger items usually need to be built yourself though, which can be a bit tricky at times as the instructions can be a little vague! Ocasionally part of an item is damaged, but they have no problem in replacing or refunding it. I had a light fitting that stopped working altogether after about a year, and with no box or reciept I thought I would chance it and take it backthey where very apologetic and gave me a voucher to the value of the light fitting! There is ample parking for most days of the week, but it does get very busy at Weekends. read more

Now I love to shop like all girls do and I have become well accustomed to Ikea over the years. - How my love for Ikea started? Well my mom has always been obsessed with the shop and our house does look like one big Ikea showroom. Now I have to tell you that it is one particular product that fuelled my love for going to Ikea when I was younger and that was the Dime bars they sell there. Seriously they sell a mini version in a huge bag that me and my sister used to beg my mom to buy us then we would eat them on the car journey home. - How my love for Ikea has continued? We are only a 20 minute drive to our nearest Ikea so it is easy to get to and therefore efficient for us to buy all of our household products. - What is Ikea? In case you did not know, Ikea is a fantastic shop which sells household products and furniture. They originate from Sweden way back in 1943 where it was founded by Ingvar Kamprad. Ikea originally only sold pens, jewellery and wallets and other small items. In 1955 Ikea began top design its own furniture and from then till the present day Ikea has established itself as a cheap alternative to every other household store. In fact its motto is 'affordable solutions for better living'. - The main shop. Now I will actually run down the Ikea shop in more detail bearing in mind that I am describing my experience of the store by me. The Showrooms: The first thing you come to in Ikea is the showrooms. Now in the store by our home you travel up some stairs and come to the living room and dining room section first. Now basically the Ikea showrooms have been made up to look exactly like proper rooms so you will find books, pictures and little finishing touches in each room. This helps so much if you are looking for specific ideas on what to do with a room. You then come to bedrooms, followed by offices and then kitchens to finish off. Each room is individual with varying colours and themes so know matter what age you are or what you like you are bound to find something to suit your tastes. Also mixed in within the showrooms are baskets which will contain special offers. I think on my last visit they were selling mouse mats for 10p. Bargain!!! There is also a section in the showroom with sofas and chairs and I love this section as you can find some great things. The best bargain we got from this section was a red leather rotating chair for £100 and it is now placed in my sisters' room and we all fight for it when we are in there. The other section I love is looking at the desks. My desk was £129 and it is huge and very office like and I love it. If you are sceptical and thinking that the quality of the furniture must not be any good then I will tell you are wrong straight out. All furniture I have bought from Ikea which includes my desk, TV cabinet, bedside table and chest of drawers (all found in the showroom section) have lasted for years and never break. The quality is excellent and I have been more than happy with my purchases. If you see an item in the showroom that you would like to buy then you have to look at the tag that will be attached to it and jot down the following things; - The item number. - The colour. - The price. - Aisle number. This is because all of the larger items are located in the warehouse which in our store is downstairs. Located around the showrooms you will notice will be small Ikea wooden pencils and paper so that you can jot down all of the necessary information. Do not worry about finding your items as there are always members of staff by the warehouse that are willing to help you find what you are after. The restaurant / café: Now this is another highlight of visiting Ikea because the food is gorgeous. The seating area is large so you should always be able to find a table and they house a good selection of hot and cold food and drink. The cold foods consist of sandwiches, cakes and salads while the hot food contains meatballs and fish and chips. Now if you go I will recommend a meal to you which are what I always have when I visit. Meatballs, chips, gravy with cranberry sauce. Now I am not even a big fan of meat but yum, yum and yum. It costs around £2.99 for a small which still gives you around 10 meatballs and it is delicious. There have been times when my mom, my sister and I all drive up to Ikea just so that we can have our tea there. All food is reasonably priced and there is something for everyone. Downstairs: Now I was not sure what to call this section as I suppose it is just the miscellaneous section. Here you can find all of the small household appliances you need. The first thing that I stumble across in my Ikea is kitchen products so here you can find your cutlery, cooking utensils and tea towels etc Now they actually sell things very cheap and on occasions you can spot real bargains. The best bargain we ever had were 10p wine glasses. We bought 50 of them for £5 and that was about 3 years ago and to read more
Ikea has issues to battle with- the size of the store, the price of the products, the sheer amount of products- which mean it's never going to be a boutique experience. But they have lots of systems in place to deal with this and make it a fairly straightforward shopping experience. You work your way through the giant one-way store. Ideally you know what you're looking for. AHA there's the shelves I wanted. Pick up a handily located pencil and piece of paper and jot down the location number. Continue through until you get to the warehouse area, where you load your trolley with the bits and bobs you have written down on your list. The location number tells you the aisle and shelf where you should find them. It doesn't always go to plan- we found some of the location numbers to be incorrect, but they were nearby. The cafe is great, with cheap and cheerful food available. I know it's making you spend more but if I've travelled half an hour to buy shelves and mirrors I want lunch too! I had fish and chips which was fine, and ligonberry juice which is refillable and very nice. The meatballs are very popular. The staff are super efficient at the tills- scan, scan, scan, pay and out you go. The car park is massive and it isn't clear which way you are supposed to drive! The products of course are great. read more
Oh Ikea how I love thee, Parking is a nightmare here to be honest but I do love the affordability of Ikea. I like to wander around and redecorate my home (in my mind) and then let loose in the Marketplace area. The food court is always busy though, my tip is to have one person grab a table whilst the other grabs the refreshments, but the food served is goooooood. A little bit of everything to suit all. Done forget to pop into the food shop right at the end too, lots of Swedish goodies to take home. read more

Yes, it's a nightmare when it's busy, but there's no arguing that you invariably get what you came for, and then some. Cost-effective furniture, accessories and lighting, and then a whole plethora of additions in the warehouse from teatowels to trees if you're planning an overhaul, or just sprucing up, whatever the budget, Ikea will do the job. read more

I'm a big fan of Ikea. It's a big store with a huge selection. A lot of the things you didn't know you needed until you got to the store but its a good place to browse in. Lots to look at, some of the things are very innovative, some practical and the prices are always reasonable. On the downside if you buy something that needs fixing they don't always get it right with supplying the right size nails, screws or wall plugs and it gets so packed at weekends and some evenings that you can't get to see the products on display. It's best to good mid-week, then after you've leisurely browsed/shopped you can have lunch in the restuaurant which has typical Swedish and British food and is really good value. read more

I love Ikea! They sell so much under one roof and it is so cheap! I always come home with a carfull. The only downside is it is so far for me to travel there. It is so worth it though, I have had so much of my furniture from Ikea, its a bargain and the quality is good too.It is all flatpacked aswell so you can take it away the same day, i not they do do a delivery service although it works out expensive if you live quite far like me. There is a restaurant there aswell, the food is really cheap so its ideal for the family! They also have a kids play area where you can leave the kids while you shop. Brilliant! read more

We have been to the wednesbury ikea a few times and we loved it. There is so much choice and for all budgets. The items we have purchased have beeen of good quality and lasted well. One item was a wardrobe at the lower priced end and it is still going strong even after a house move. There is plenty of parking and a restaurant. Will take you a couple of hours to browse round the whole store but well worth it. read more

What else can be said for Ikea canteen food? Today I tried the new chicken meatballs, which should be renamed 'insipid looking blandballs'. I don't know what they have done to the gravy sauce over the past year but it goes from lovely, rich creamyness to brown water then to grainy brown water. Consistancy please! The new salad and fruit bars are a nice addition, along with some other new, hot foods. read more

What can I say? Well, I absolutely LOVE Ikea. Living only 2 streets away from the store, my entire house is practically an Ikea showroom. It's one of the larger stores in the country and have found from experience they generally always have items in stock. The store has a creche facility for younger children where qualified staff can supervise your children for up to an hour. The showroom is carefully laid out, with the main store on the upper floor. There is a method to the madness of the store layout, and if you don't like the 'path' selected for you there are shortcuts for you to miss irrelevant sections. The restaurant is also on this floor. You can either go there for your 1st stop, or later on in your visit. I personally recommend the breakfast, which at time of writing is only 97p, which is available weekdays up to 11am. Down the travelator you hit marketplace, and then onto the warehouse to pick up your larger flat-packed items. The bargain corner and seasonal section are you last stop before hitting the tills. The customer service is always excellent at Ikea, and many times I've needed to return things through change of mind! I've never had any problems with returns or refunds. Excellent selection of furniture, for all budgets. Excellent quality. All I'd say is try to avoid weekends and Bank Holidays otherwise you'll have a distorted view of Ikea! It's not always madness! At 9pm on a weeknight can be VERY serene, sometimes being the only person walking through the store. read more

After travelling a round trip of 30 miles to visit this branch of ikea at Wednesbury. I am sure that I would not recommend this branch to anyone. I am aware of the Sunday trading laws but to keep people bottled up in the area by the restaurant is just downright dangerous. When 11 oclock came people where banging trolleys into people and children alike just to get into the next part of the shop first. When I looked at one of the items I wanted that was on display it said out of stock despite being told online that the store had it in stock. The other item I required I had to order from a member of staff at the service desk which, despite having a queue of about 12 people had no staff in site. I will certainly not waste my time travelling to this store again. read more

Great store, good layout and fantastic quality furniture, Loads off FREE Parking. In general the staff are very helpful and friendly. One word off warning 'make sure you check that all the items you have paid for are brought out from the store room & don't let the staff rush you when your checking items'. I left without a1000mm base cabinet and was told Its all there (cost me a base unit).. However Ikea stuff is fab quality:- The toilets, café and all other areas are clean and accessible for wheelchair users read more

This may seem a strange inclusion but ikea is an interesting store to browse around and has some clever storage solutions. What is not so well known is that the cafeteria is, for good reason, a very busy place. The menu is a bit restricted but the quality and prices are outstanding. We have frequently visited choosing the fish and chips and meat balls main courses. There's a good selection of salads to which you can add a portion of chips. Buy a drink and you get top ups for no extra. It's self service and you are expected to put your used crockery and tray in the racks. They stay open quite late. For a healthy family meal at a bargain price I think ikea would be hard to match. read more
