I had been…read moreconsidering cutting my hair for quite some time, but with curly hair, this is a challenge as many stylists tend to overestimate how much hair to chop off. Katina cut it to the exact length that I wanted and added layers so my curls looked bouncy and full. This was also the first time that I put color in my hair. Katina helped me pick the right color and I was so pleased by the end result. I've received so many compliments since cutting and coloring my hair. I am so obsessed and looking forward to my next trim and touchup session with Katina. Katina is an all-around amazing person. She's always friendly and we have great conversations when I'm sitting in her chair.

I was always nervous to dye my hair because of crazy things I read online about damage and hair…read moreloss but when I came to Katina she was knowledgeable in all the new techniques to keep my hair strong and healthy and give me my desired look at the same time. Fast forward 4 years and she is the ONLY stylist I allow to touch my hair because she knows exactly what I want before I know what I want! She matches my balayage perfectly and it's always masterfully blended- I never have to worry about getting a color that I don't like. It's so important to have a hair stylist that keeps up with new techniques and is willing to go to classes and workshops to perfect their art- that's exactly what Katina does and she's a pro at it. If you're looking for a up to date professional that listens and can give you the perfect look then your search is over because Katina is all of that and more (also be ready for lots of laughs along the way). She also does a ton of other things like threading, makeup (I can personally attest to her bomb makeup skills as well) lashes and more!

Yesterday, I revisited Nyram hair salon after three years and although the pricing is still over…read morethe top I had a pleasant experience. The owner herself did my hair right away when I expressed interest in an high- priced style. I observed many positive management attributes such as positive interactions and greeting returning customers, and shorter wait times etc. Previously, I had concerns related to over pricing. I usually go to Harlem , New York and the pricing is much lower in comparison, for the same hairstyles. When I discussed this with the owner she did not seem to agree that the prices were out of the ordinary boundaries , which is why I made a complaint. I felt that I had to argue my position and I should not have had to do that. I believe in old school values ; Biz owners should respect how the customer feels, whether they agree or not. I like getting g my hair harassed and I should not have to travel far away to get fair prices. While the pricing is still over the top, I didnt mind paying because the treatment I received was of high - quality. However, they need to be more transparent about the pricing , which establishes trust and integrity in the establishments overall business ethics.
