When we first moved to Switzerland IKEA was like a second home. It was the most affordable place to find decent furniture in the area. It is conveniently located near the train station, and if you want they have mobility cars (van size) that you can rent for free (or discount) for up to an hour if you have a IKEA family card. How is IKEA different from the US? The only difference was that they allow dogs in the store! I couldn't believe it when I first saw it. So we brought our pup with us when searching for furniture, she even got up on the couches with us to test it out. I thought for sure someone would yell at us, but nope, no one said anything. I saw other dogs with their owners doing the same thing. They also have people working here (just check the different flag on their name tag) who speak English to help you order items. You can also order items online and pick them up at the store directly. It is very helpful to first check online to see if the store has the item you are looking for first, so you don't waste your time to go all the way out there only to find they are out of stock. This place is VERY busy on the weekends as well. Especially towards the end of the month when most people get their pay check. read more
