Very clean place. People were super friendly and attentive. Parking is good enough but might have to walk a bit if it is crowded. My food was tasty. I came here for the red, white, and blueberry pancakes for the first time. I really like it. They came with bacon, eggs and hash browns. Yummy!! They have refillable coffee for those who need the caffeine. They also have a variety of syrups for your stacks! Glad I went here for the first time. I will go again in the future. read more

Before working today, I decided to take my son for breakfast and he happens to pick this place. When we got there, we got seated right away, which is amazing. The place looked really clean and orderly. Wait staff took our orders right away. We ordered 2 breakfast samplers, hot chocolate, and milk shake-which are shockingly priced at $55 including tax and no tip included yet. Isn't it ridiculous?! I'm sorry to say, but food was horrible!!! Bacon didn't taste like bacon and hash brown tasted weird. I was so disappointed, I only had a few bites of my pancakes. Just right after we ate, our tummy was hurting. We had to use the restroom twice!!! Overall, everything was great except for the food. I guess food quality has gone down. First time at this IHOP location in West Hills. This eatery seems like it's new or newly renovated. Plenty of parking available. Inside there are plenty of booths along with tables and chairs for dining. The eatery is also well lit inside which is really nice. Thank you Elyse for the great customer service. We didn't wait too long for our food. Our meals were freshly cooked and made. It was still steaming hot when delivered to our table. The Strawberry Cheesecake Waffle Combo was good. It was plentiful. Strawberries were all fresh and sweet. The New Happy Face Pancake was delicious with just the right amount of chocolate chips inside the pancakes. The Buttermilk Crispy Chicken and Fries were ok. The shredded beef was a bit dry, but the other components helped boost the flavor-- Poblano peppers, red bell peppers, onions. The description says the hollandaise sauce has Poblano in it as well, but it tasted like regular hollandaise to me. But overall it definitely has a nice bit of a kick! The potatoes, however, were a bit of a letdown-- they weren't very crispy or seasoned. The hash browns on another plate were the same way. Service was friendly but a bit slow-- our table waited a while to place our order, and another table seated after us got their food first. We also didn't get a water refill until we had basically finished our meal. Not a huge deal though, since we weren't in a rush. Overall, the food had some high points, and I'd come back to try more, especially on a less busy day. read more

So sad I even have to write this one star review. I came here for breakfast with my daughter and mother and was seated immediately. Fast forward to 10 minutes and not a single soul came by. Service is great but my husband and I picked up a pancake order this morning and discovered pieces of plastic in them. We got one stack of chocolate chip and another stack of buttermilk pancakes. There was a large black plastic piece embedded in the chocolate chip pancake and little green plastic pieces in the buttermilk. I was seated to have breakfast I waited for over 20 minutes and never had my order taken. I asked to talk to the manager she did I her investigation and returned and told me she only had two servers. My server said She was helping a customer and getting drinks for another For the time I was waiting. I observed my server come the table next to mine and asked if they were ok, she walked past my table never taking my order. I don't know if race had anything to do with this but I am a person of color and it sure makes me think this way. The manager offered to take my order but I declined and left. Had such a great experience at this IHOP! The place was super clean and had a nice, welcoming vibe. You can tell the staff actually cares about keeping it that way. Our server, Mercedes was amazing! She was super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out just right. It really makes a difference when someone genuinely enjoys what they do. The food came out fresh and hot. I ordered the poblano omelette! Make sure to order if you like spicy plates! Everything tasted great, and even though it got a little busy, service didn't miss a beat. I also saw the manager walk by to check on tables and was really friendly, which says a lot about how well the place is run. Overall, definitely one of the better IHOPs I've been to. If that's the only thing I order and I have ordered it on other holidays you can't pick and choose when you offer it . Only giving this place 4 stars because the food was actually good the server SAMANTHA was an amazing person and server. I recommend the sirloin tips meal cause it was actually really really bomb. As far as the ambiance, it was actually terrible, super crowded very loud, and if your looking to have a relaxing meal for two chances are the seat you will get will be very unpleasant due to space and the chairs are actually really uncomfortable. HOWEVER, server Samantha went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and found a solution. Another older server with white hair was actually extremely rude and disrespectful and disgustingly passive aggressive because we sat in her area, thankfully the manager and Samantha were wonderful and had great customer service. read more

I come to IHOP on Mondays and Saturdays and often have the same server, Mercedes. She is amazing when it comes to her service. She really knows what hospitality means and always checks in to make sure everything is going well. Her service is outstanding from start to finish. She makes sure my wife and kids are taken care of, too. My favorite entrée is the steak with tres leches pancakes, and the kids love the Jr. French toast sticks. I go to this local location quite frequently. Mainly because the servers are so good and so friendly and the is OK too. I went there yesterday. Tried to substitute turkey sausage for pork sausage and was told that restaurant no longer allows any substitutions at all. Gave this place another try after terrible service a few months back and things are just as bad if not worse. Bad customer service, subpar food quality and racial undertones felt as more attention given to others.. and rude, incomplete non-prioritized lack of service given to us and another party who arrived well before others and they were served first! Very different from the business when it first began in this neighborhood which served in a business appropriate manner. The entry doors, walls, and interior floors, ceiling, and tables were dirty and clearly would not pass a health inspection! And, upon exit, rodent pellets were viewed near the front entrance/exit by myself and my party, we NEVER would have entered if we saw this upon entering!! Corporate contacted as the management who has been notified by many via my research does not care nor, opt to make the changes needed to service all in this community, not just customers based on their personal preference. Research had also discovered that many previous positive reviews were falsely created by those directly connected to employees and management of this location to maintain it's operations here even under these terrible conditions. This location of IHOP will not last from what I understand and plans are in the works for a major change thankfully that is long overdue. read more

This review is a long time coming. This restaurant has the worst customer service and the slowest servers. Even if the restaurant is less than half full the service just lags and lags. How long does it take to bring us our check and wrap everything up? Just because we are finished eating doesn't mean that we are all done we still need our check, our to go boxes and refills. To top this off now they are rudely telling customers of their new policy about absolutely no substitutions. So if you want to eat eggs and hashbrowns be prepared to have them eat force meat onto you even if you are vegan or vegetarian. Not all of us can consume meat and there is absolutely nothing on your menu that comes close to just a plain tray of eggs and hash browns. Ridiculous new policies, ridiculous skyrocketing prices and tie that in with the rude slow customer service? Who runs this place? I will be contacting corporate to report this location. We've been here a few times a year since my last review, and every time has been excellent. Some other IHOPs will make mistakes with your order, give you cold food, etc., but never here. It seems like there are 20-30 people working there, all of them hustling about to give us a good experience and tasty chow. And they're all so genuinely friendly. I say this because I've lived long enough to know when someone is forcing friendliness as part of their job. Also, we have seen some of the same employees there for years, meaning it's a good place to work and they're happy. I just had the best experience here. My wife and I came for breakfast because I'm a veteran and they offered a very nice Veterans Day freebie. First of all, I wasn't expecting much from the food, because in my experience IHOP food is no better than average. But my Red White and Blueberry combo was far better than average (though the hash browns could have been crispier), the coffee was tasty (and I love that they leave an insulated carafe on the table, so if you like a lot coffee you don't have to keep an eye out for a waitperson all the time), and my wife's pumpkin spice pancakes were delicious. Although the restaurant was very crowded, doubtless because it was a holiday, service was friendly and efficient and the waitstaff folks were cheery and friendly. And our booth was across the aisle from a family -- dad, mom, boys 14 and 8, and a very sweet 3-month-old baby as an icebreaker -- with whom we chatted throughout our respective breakfasts. And at the end the dad, in acknowledgment of my veteran's baseball cap, said it would be an honor to pick up our check and would not take no for an answer. My go-to breakfast spot in that part of the Valley is Nat's, on Ventura Blvd. near Fallbrook. But given the very pleasant surprise we experienced at this IHOP, we will definitely be back. read more

I came to the IHOP in West Hills, CA today to celebrate my daughter's 17th birthday with a party of about 20 people, and it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had. To start, our food was served in three separate rounds--each group receiving their meals long after the previous group had already finished eating. By the time the last plates came out, most of our table was done. Unfortunately, my meal never arrived. After waiting a long time, I decided to cancel my order since everyone else was already finished. When the waitress finally brought my plate (well after I had cancelled), she accidentally dropped my Eggs Benedict on me, spilling food on the left side of my abdomen. No apology was offered, and to make matters worse, they initially tried to charge me for the meal I never ate. The item was only removed from the bill after I brought it up. There was also no discount or compensation offered for the poor service or the incident with the dropped food. On top of that, I was still required to pay a 20% gratuity fee, which felt extremely inappropriate given the circumstances. I requested to speak with a manager, but the waitress said the manager refused to come out. I was told the manager would call me within an hour, yet three hours later, I have still not received a call. To make matters worse, the area where the food spilled is burning and irritated, and I am now concerned about the potential reaction from the hot food. This experience was completely unacceptable from start to finish. I truly hope IHOP corporate sees this and reaches out as soon as possible. read more
