I ordered the traubleskuchen, which is a traditional cake along with iced coffee. That cake was amazing! I've never had it before so I was really happy to discover something new. It's got currants and meringue and a layer of cake. I loved it! I also bought a box of truffles to take with me and my boyfriend and I enjoyed them very much. If tables outside are free I recommend it as it's great to watch the little town buzz by.

Found just around the corner from Bäckerei Höfler in Füssen, Bäckerei Brunners offers several…read moreregional delicacies inside a large space, and for those visiting the city a location along pedestrian-only streets at the center of town proves highly convenient save for a lack of nearby parking. Called a "natural" Bakery by staff with limited English skills, everything made on-site and much of the Grain organic, Bäckerei Brunners is owned by Franz and Gislane Brunner, both second-generation Bakers and the products themselves attesting to both time as well as technique. Cozy but spacious, the sort of space where groups can gather but not disturb those who wish to work or read, fans of Bavarian Pretzels would be wise to check out Brunner's version with browned skin overlying fluffy insides, and for those who favor something sweet yet savory the Cheese and Sesame "Quarktasche" is a brilliant combination amidst Pastry braids. Additionally offering several Cakes starting at 07h30, traditional Beesting most noteworthy thanks to Yeast, Vanilla and Toasted Almonds shellacked by Honey, Apple Strudel also fares well at just 3.30€ for a substantial slice while Sacher Torte was unfortunately a little dry and presumably left over from the previous day given the fact that only half a Cake was left mere minutes after opening.

The queue went quickly and the staff were very friendly, so don't be deterred by the line as there is usually one. Across our 4 day trip our group tried a few of the flavours. The coffee, after eight (mint chocolate) and hazelnut were our favourites. We missed out on a few flavours as we went later in the day every time. The black forest and snickers inspired one (I can't remember the name) were also both very nice. They also had a Dubai chocolate flavour if that's your thing, although we didn't try it. I found the walnut gelato a little bland - it would be great with some little dark chocolate pieces or even a drizzle of hot chocolate sauce. They are cash only at the gelato counter so go prepared. We got apple pie in their sit down restaurant one afternoon and were able to pay with card for that. It was really good! Their dessert menu is wild, with spaghetti inspired dishes that reminded us of Buddy the elf! Definitely worth a visit!
