They were not busy as all so I'm not sure what was going on. It was a cute spot on the main street of Mittenwald so I stopped mostly out of convenience. There are several other cafes in the area so I maybe should have stopped at one of them instead for a quicker visit. The hot chocolate was tasty though and nice Mittenwald views.

Nachdem die Familie den landwirtschaftlichen Betrieb verlegt hatte, baute Josef Heiß jr. einen Teil des Erdgeschosses zu einem gastronomischen Betrieb um. Im Jahr 2004 war es dann soweit und das Cafe Baur begrüßte seine ersten Gäste. Obwohl ursprünglich als Cafe gedacht, entwickelte es sich im Laufe der Zeit zu einem kleinen Bistro-Restaurant mit immer gerne wiederkehrenden Gästen. Die nachfolgenden Pächter haben diese junge Tradition liebevoll weitergeführt und das Bistro Cafe Baur freute sich über seine Beliebtheit bei Gästen von nah und fern.
