Most told me to walk away from my homes, all my 7 figures of debt, and start over with a chapter 7. I couldn't do that. my homes were income producing rentals. I needed that income. When I finally decided on my attorney (Shout out to Dave Crosby), he dove into my case and found out I had so much debt, I couldn't even file for chapter 7 personal bankruptcy. I had to file business bankruptcy. So he referred me to a great Business Bankruptcy attorney. Todd Wright. He took great care of me and set me up with a 5 year plan in a Chapter 11. Two years into my plan, he called me to inform me that he had to retire for medical reasons. He said his partner, would take care of me, as all I needed to do was to be discharged at the end of my 5 year plan. So I wished him well as we became friends through my difficult case. His partner, focused on family law. Not bankruptcy. And half way through my plan, I kept seeing that I was late on my mortgages. But I had record of paying them every month. His partner could not figure out why and wasn't able to dive into my case to get to the bottom of it. He too had some health issues that hindered my case. 5 years go by, then 7, then 10. I'm still in Bankruptcy. I hadn't spoken to the attorney in over two years. He disappears. I call the bar association. They told me he closed his office! He's now working downtown at the DA's office! I call. We exchange niceties. I asked what happened. Ultimately he let me down but again, he focused on family law, not business bankruptcy. So Now i have to hire another attorney. Again, I speak with everyone. No one wanted to take on a Chapter 11 with issues. Or they flat out said it was out of their expertise. The rest I couldn't trust. Through the years, I've become friends with a few fantastic attorneys here in town. Gregg Koeppe, and Dave Crosby. Great men. Both suggested I speak with a Corey Beck. I call. We speak. I tell him my story. He listened. He invites me in for a consultation. At this point I'd like to address a review left by a "Mr. Gay America". Corey IS soft spoken. The smartest people are. He asked a few questions, and let me go on about my case. Taking everything in, listening intently, only breaking eye contact when I saw the wheels spinning in his head over my case. He said, again, in an almost nonchalant manner, that he would take my case and get to the bottom of it. He gained my trust. I think his quiet demeaner is mistaken for weakness. When on the contrary, it serves him well in court. Calm, steadfast, and intelligent. When people like Corey speak, they listen. Because he listens more than he speaks. Those are the people who are the most intelligent. I should take lessons from the man. I talk too much. Look at this review. But I digress. Corey jumps into my case. My paperwork was no less than two feet high. No exaggeration. 10 years of paperwork. And in that paperwork there were mistakes no one could figure out or identify. Corey did. He contacted all the attorneys of all my creditors. He took them on. All of them. All by himself. And these are big corporations with the toughest lawyers money can buy. He went to war for me. He took everyone to task. From the multitude of attorneys all the way to the trustees office. As soon as he fixed one issue, another one surfaced. Problem after problem, he tackled each and every one of them. And he never quit on me. I spent Over Two years with this man who took a Chapter 11, someone else started, with problems in it no one could identify. In the end, he won. Which meant I won. After almost 13 years in Bankruptcy prison, I am out, and moving on with my life. Because of this soft spoken attorney who took on my case and turned into a lion as he went to battle for me. I can't express my gratitude for how much he's done for me. But when you read this Corey, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. And after all is said and done.
