When you think of the historical milk man of Main Street America...this would be his office. What a…read moregem for locals. Traditional glass milk jars fresh from their dairy cows. You can even purchase one of those metal milk jar carriers to transport the milk home. They sell by the half gallon and for a family of four, I go through 4 jars a week or so. Prices are reasonable and they sell ice cream from a Longacres ice cream shop that has been in business since the 1930s in Barton, PA. When you pull up you see the cows that provided you with the delicious milk! I drive about 20min just for the milk. Won't purchase from anywhere else now that I can taste the difference. Staff seem to be local high school students and are very nice. The ambience is straight from small town America.

This family's dairy farm is one of the nostalgic reasons my family settled in this area (just one of many reasons). I mean, where else can you greet the cows that produce the fresh milk you are about to buy in old fashioned glass bottles? That's right! We buy 4 or 6 at a time and carry them in hard wire baskets, just like in the 1950's! And for about the same price you're paying at the grocery store for milk that's been sitting on a store shelf for who knows how long. In summer, they feature locally grown produce. In autumn they sell local apple cider that's unbelievable! And the holiday egg nog is to die for!! If you're driving to New Hope from Philly or just looking for something fun to do on a Saturday, it's a great trip! The dairy has a dedicated local following, my family included. It's cash or check only but they do have an ATM. Just remember, the Dairy closes on Sunday (like the Bible says, rest on the 7th day).

This is an amazing Amish market. It is 5 minutes from my sister's house. As soon as you walk in you…read moreare greeted with the pleasant smell of fresh pretzels and freshly baked doughnuts! All the food and products are from the Amish people. Everyone is so friendly and the service is fast and efficient. My mom ordered a strawberry milkshake. She said it was one of the best milkshakes she ever had. They put a bunch of fresh strawberries inside and she said it wasn't too sweet but just perfect. My husband ordered a cookies and cream milkshake. He also said it was made really well and was not too sweet. Just a clean creamy cookie flavor. Of course we had to try the doughnuts. I ordered an apple and a chocolate with sprinkles. The apple was really good! It was freshly baked, and the filling was delicious and had a nice cinnamon flavor. The chocolate was also very good! They are big donuts too! 2 for $5. Now to the delicious soft pretzels! They are freshly baked, soft, buttery, and delicious!!! You can also get them in garlic, cinnamon, and sour cream and onion. They have pretzel dogs too. Fresh fudge anyone? They have a large variety of fudge treats. They have fresh meats, jewelry, furniture, and other items for sale as well. I wished we had more time to explore and try more things. They are only open on Thursdays and Saturdays until 3:00 PM.

They have something for pretty much everyone - baked goods (donuts, cakes, pies, bread), cheese, pickles, produce, fresh meat, home furnishings. It's surprising how much they can squeeze into the space they have and not feel like it's crowded. There's also tables, cafeteria style, if you choose to eat there. If you visit their website, they offer coupons (e.g., $1 off brownies, free pretzel w/ purchase of a milkshake, etc.) you can print out. Normally, it is only open Thursday through Saturday. During certain holidays they do open other days of the week. For Christmas week, they're open Monday through Wednesday since they're closed on December 25th and 26th. For New Year's week, they're open Wednesday since they're closed on Thursday (New Year's Day).
