Had…read morenever been here, and we found this co-op per the recommendations of a local art gallery owner. Bloomingfoods is a co-op. You pay a membership fee, and the workers there are part of the ownership. Immediately, you are hit with warmth and just that coziness you want in a local grocery store. Whole Foods ambiance but not corporate. There is a deli and a hot/cold foods bar. Produce and plenty of plant-based options to choose from. We definitely enjoyed the experience .

After 14 years as a loyal customer, I canceled my membership at Bloomingfoods today. I won't…read moresupport a business that tolerates bullying and ignores people who speak up against it. Anyone who shops here knows unfriendly, rude cashiers are a long-standing norm. But this goes far beyond that. I witnessed deli employees openly mocking and laughing at a customer for wearing glasses, including using fake voices and calling them "nerdy." It was cruel, public bullying of someone who appeared to have an eye disability. The stuff of Disney schoolyard villains. Truly an insane thing to witness from grown men in work uniform on the clock. Here's the really disturbing thing... Leadership didn't even care. I reported it immediately and followed up many times (phone, email, website form, social) asking for leadership to respond. The marketing manager assured me that leadership was well aware of the incident. Two weeks later, I still haven't gotten a single response. I won't support a business that tolerates bullying and ignores people who speak up against it. Vote with your money and shop at the Bloomington Farm Stop Collective, where you can get local food AND be treated with basic human dignity.

It's a shame that Kroger has become the default chain store in town. They stifle competition as…read moremuch as possible, and are always crazy expensive. While some locations have some improvements, this one is as unpleasant to me as always. The disappointment I was carrying from Menards led me here. In a world where stores were run by competent people with good sense, you could shop on a Saturday morning because morning stockers would have refilled the holes left behind by people who did their shopping Friday night. Maybe this was done. It never seems like it. Sale items I wanted were out of stock. Of course. As I shopped, I lamented the difference in the grocery shopping experience of 10-20 years ago vs today. Today it's agony to actually set foot in there. Speaking of competent people, if they exist in Kroger, they are not designing the layouts for the various sections in the store. My rule of thumb I left on my check in is that if you can't find what you want, look where it shouldn't be. You may find it. That happened to me twice. Once was for a newer type of cat treat. It SHOULD be with the canned cat food. It IS with the regular cat food. The other is deodorant. Have you tried native? If not, do it! It's expensive but worth it. Let me offer a tip, though. Check the men's and women's sections. Native is simply a deodorant for anyone, but Kroger has taken it upon themselves to decide that some scents are for men, and some for women. in a setup where men and women's deodorant are side by side, no one could think to simply place that brand in the middle. And dog biscuits are nearly non existent at several stores. You get a few to choose from. That's it. If I had a positive thing or two to say about this location, it's that the brand selection is actually decent in some areas. They don't just carry the cheap junk, they actually carry stuff worth paying a few extra bucks for. Sadly, this one doesn't have a bakery that I'm aware of, so I can't get the fresh bread I can at the south location. The music was absolutely blaring this morning, which didn't help my experience. Whoever I mentioned this to said that they can't turn it down. Yeah, not sure I believe that. If you don't mind paying a bit more and getting a more eclectic selection, go to Fresh Thyme across the street. If you just need stuff, suck it up and go here. You have no choice!

ABSOLUTELY the WORST place a person can work!!! My wife manages a DG, she regularly works 60-70…read morehours(paid for 45 of course and NEVER gets any time back), it's still not enough. This week she had a person call in for two straight days and had to work both days, all day, 16 hours EACH! Then she gets wrote up cause things aren't done!! Well DUH Einstein! They expect her to drop her store work and go to any store they say and work for free. When she gets back to her store it's a mess cause no one will do anything except her, then SHE gets in trouble. If she has a day scheduled off (which is very RARE) and her DM (Kari) calls to say shes visiting at the last minute, she(Kari) gets mad cause she's not there. She has had to lose planned vacation days, when DG schedules a mandatory meeting with a days notice. She was just told today by this Kari that she has to work 5a to 5p on Thanksgiving!!! There HAS to be something that can be done about this kind of CRAP. I for one, will never buy anything from DG.......EVER! BOYCOTT DG!!! #boycott dg

Ah, Kroger. You've taken a Marsh and Krogerized it…read more All in all, it's not too bad. You dressed it up. You made it pretty. Best of all, you left the aisles wider than standard Kroger aisles. That's a nice change of pace. Standard Kroger aisles barely have enough room for the customers thanks to all of the excessive displays. I've shopped there a couple of times, and it actually wasn't too bad. It wasn't that good, but it wasn't that bad. (This is why I've been waffling between 2 and 3 stars.) I almost dropped it to 2 stars for ---- the deli. UGH! My girlfriend thought she'd be nice and grab some chicken, potato wedges, and mac and cheese to bring home. MISTAKE!!! The mac and cheese was passable. The potato wedges were edible. The chicken. OOOOH the chicken. I'm not sure how to describe it. It was almost like trying to eat some king of putty. It was dry and overcooked. When I call it dry, I don't mean a little dry, I mean dry as in it might have been cooked that morning and sat under a heat lamp all day. WOW. You know what? The more I think about that meal and how terrible it was, the worse that store seems. They just lost a star while I wrote this. It was truly that bad. The saving graces for this store - Marsh wide aisles Friendly staff, which you'll need because the aisles aren't always labeled with everything in them. Nice inside since it was just fixed up for Kroger. I think that's about it. Shopping there isn't awful, but the deli needs to be closed while the staff is taught how to cook.
