Delicious food. Whenever I'm in the area, I make it a point to stop in and grab a bite to eat. Highly recommended.

This place is great! With homey environment and fresh Russian/Ukrainian food. They don't do much to promote but I wish they did.

The hot food is pretty good and they'll make fresh russian style Napoleon for you, just give them 24 hours notice.

The Bad Wife - The return policy on the plants

This is a brilliant little grocery with all the essentials and quite a bit of Asian variety…read moreavailable too, along with a small produce selection. There's a lot packed in there! It's a good choice for coffee, snacks, but also fennel, vegan food, kimchi, or eucalyptus cuttings (and, like many small grocery stores, some things are better deals than others). Importantly for the neighborhood, Bad Wife also sell live plants and flowers at very reasonable prices. In the spring and summer, they'll often have flowering plants available. I've always had great interactions with the staff here, and am a fan of the place.

Earlier today, I purchased several plants. In the evening, I returned to the store to return those…read moreitems, for a refund. I no longer wanted those plants. Mrs. Lee refused to accept the return. She referred to a sign that read, plants are not returnable. That particular sign was displayed at at the back of the plant section, on a high shelf. Interestingly enough, at the cash register, there is a sign that states, "Refund policy provided within 2 days receipt." It is mandatory for stores to visibly display their return policy at the cash register. 'The Bad Wife' failed to do so. Mrs. Lee's attitude was rude and dismissive despite being told return policies must be clearly visible by the cash register.

The fresh produce here is much more fresh than at neighboring grocery stores - it tastes better,…read morelasts longer, and generally there is an organic and non-organic options to whatever produce you want to buy. They also have a much larger variety of fresh and packaged produce than neighboring grocery stores. They have loads of gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, BPA free, organic etc products too. The meats here are fresher and they are generally always well stocked with whatever I need. They ALSO have loads of ready made meals - pizza, pastas, fresh salads, soups, sushi, a mini patisserie, bakery (including cakes, bagels of diff flavors, fresh pretzels etc), cheese bar (with every kind of cheese you can think of, both local and imported from around the world). They offer a wide range of organic juices and international lunch foods to pack and go. The shop is always immaculate and the products are never dusty/expired. The customer service here is amazing - employees are super nice and extremely attentive, and even when DoorDash screwed up my order, they went out of their way to repack it and use one of their own guys to deliver it to me so I wouldn't have to deal with the frustration of Whenever there is a hard to find product that comes to mind, I know FGM is going to carry it. Is it more expensive? Yes. But that's because the produce is fresher, tastes better, is healthier, and there is a huge variety of local products coming from smaller farms and smaller companies (which equals a higher price).

This place is very expensive for just about everything. That's why it's always empty even in this…read morewealthier neighborhood. Feels like Chelsea prices. They have great ready to take meals though and great hot bar and cold bar. Good cafe. Even seating to eat. Great drink selections. Good butcher. If you can afford to shop here, it's splendid. Their produce and fruit prices are wild though. They have great local products like bread and oatmeal and beverages which I really respect and like supporting.
