I have recently returned myself for evaluation for either a root canal or extractions. I had an emergency that my dentist of 23 years would NOT fit me in for. The temp. crown that dentist put on came off & he would neither call in an antibio or fit me in for an x-ray to determine if I could keep the tooth or have it removed. They had previously referred me to an endodontist, but it would be a month until I could get in. Dr. Scott's front desk staff made me an appt for 2 weeks but kept me on a cancellation list & called me the next day. His front desk staff is FANTASTIC, & DR. Scott is very pleasant & has an amazing knowledge of meds & physiology. I recognized this due to my 35 years in medicine. I highly recommend him.In addition,his cash pricing is very reasonable!

Dr. Heitzmann found an issue that needed surgery to correct and scheduled the surgery but then later his staff told me that he cancelled it. He never talked with me directly about it and instead had his staff contact me to state he had lost "trust" whatever that meant and that I needed to find someone else to do the surgery. He seemed very nervous about the surgery when I met with him so perhaps he didn't trust his skills and ability in fixing the issue. I can only guess since he didn't show me the courtesy of reaching out personally and instead had his staff do it for him, and they provided no further details. I had to go to another doctor and pay for another consultation but luckily I found a highly skilled surgeon in Miramar that was very confident and performed excellent work. I cannot recommend Dr. Heitzmann, as his lack of courtesy and respect for patients is evident. When seeking medical care, choose a surgeon who embodies confidence, compassion, and consideration - qualities that Dr. Heitzmann did not demonstrate.

I had a terribly painful root canal back many years ago when I was in the army. Dr. Ruder did two root canals me that was completely and totally 100% painless. I had to have a RC last year from an assigned endodontist in Destin. That was absolute the most horrendous, torturous procedure I've ever had in my life. Everything from the doctor's bedside manner, the extremely painful injection and worst of all the procedure itself. It just plain damned inhumane. I called the VA and told them of my experience and that before I go back to this dentist I will go to Dr. Ruder and pay for it myself. I can see why his parking lot and waiting room are always empty. To top it off, a year later, I had to have the tooth pulled. The dentist said the tooth was dead. I miss Dr. Ruder, and I know he misses my silly little pranks, jokes and bitching about how much he charges (which is reasonable. I just have to have something smart to say).

The doctor and techs are great, super friendly and kind. The price is competitive. With several orthodontist in town, I'm glad we chose this one! One complaint: while in the clinic that week, I scheduled a cleaning and never had a follow-up. I reached out a second time about dental cleaning and was put "on the list." But I never heard back from the office. All in all, I was pleased with the emergency services but disappointed with the lack of follow-up on my teeth cleaning. It is my understanding the clinic uses "traveling or independently employed" hygienists. Nevertheless, this issue should be corrected if you offer dental cleaning options to patients. - Justin
