I had a great time talking with the finance specialist and we shared medical experience stories. Dr. Barrett was very professional and thorough. They used a new treatment on 5 of my teeth where it was needed to prevent and reverse cavities that were forming. That treatment isn't covered by my insurance yet, (FedBCBS) but it might be in the next year. My husband's appointment is next so I am hoping his experience goes well also.

They left my broken tooth hanging without even explaining they could have bonded the tooth to the other teeth so it wouldn't detach before some sort of dental work could be done to fix the problem.I went to another dentist the same day not only did he bond the tooth to the others, the treatment plan was less than half what Patel quoted me. Do not go here. They could care less and are only in It for the $$$$$$. Oh and by the way when I asked Dr Patel about my hanging tooth and what I should do I the meantime, he was like "oh well".

We proceeded with her braces and had a great experience during the first six months. Then Hurricane Michael hit and her office along with a large portion of the panhandle was devastated. Her new temporary office was moved from in town to PCB and within a few months of the storm the follow up visits resumed. Initially the once friendly tone was noticeably absent but we chalked it up to the hardships everyone was dealing with from the post hurricane challenges. My wife commented how the office became increasingly rude on later visits and she wasn't going to deal with Dr. K and her staff. I decided to follow up and attend the next visit to witness the change for myself. We arrived 10 minutes before the appointment and my daughter went in to let the receptionist know she was there for her checkup. She was told to wait in the car and to come in when her appointment time occurred. We waited a few minutes in the car and she went to the glass door only to discover it was locked. After knocking on the door Dr. K opened the door told her something and then closed the door, locked it and turned off the lobby lights. After speaking with my daughter I called the office number several times to talk with Dr. K and ask her why she was being rude to my daughter saying she was late and next time to be on time if she expected to see her. Not only did I not get in touch with Dr. K that day but for the next month she was unavailable along with her office manager. We ended up finding a new Orthodonist and did the remaining year plus visit with the new dentist. To our surprise the entire insurance reimbursements had been filed and received well before the job was complete including a substantial amount out of pocket before the job was complete. To add insult to injury we paid out of pocket for her retainers she didn't need for more than a year but had to be paid immediately (Yelp u guessed it...no retainers and no refund). We never received a return call from her or her office manager and zero refund for services not rendered. Our new dentist was a delightful experience, so great we started seeing parents/kids from our previous Orthodonist that apparently made a switch as well (for reasons unknown). I don't know if some personal event occurred that change a once caring and enjoyable climate to something entirely different but something definitely changed. This is my personal experience based on my actual use of Dr. K's services. Hindsight comes at a cost but had we used another highly recommended Orthodonist in town I could have avoided paying double for my daughter's braces. Based solely on my personal experience, save your money and avoid the abuse by using an Orthodonist with current highly rated reviews.

I was also severely misquoted on pricing and was surprised by a $600 bill in the mail to which i found out was actually $1300 because a bitewing x-ray was not submitted to my insurance. The receptionist is also very combative. The dentist Dr. Li and the hygienist are very pleasant though, I just wish they would have worked with me.
