My retainers broke after six or seven months, and when we asked if they could fix mine while my wife got a new pair, they said they couldn't without charging again, which was fine. On the day of her appointment, my wife called to mention there was cement on her teeth from a previous retainer and asked if it could be removed before taking molds. She was told maybe, but the doctor was very busy. Then she was quoted $100 more per retainer--$350 each! When we asked why, they said prices had gone up since I got mine, even though my wife was just quoted $250 a few days prior.
