There were ZERO campsites available anywhere in the Catskills or Adirondacks. After looking for hours, I came across Tin Teepee website. They held their last tent site for me until I got there. The owners and employees were very friendly and accomodating. I had my two dogs with me, which can be an issue at private campgrounds. There was plenty of safe places to walk them. The staff let us know where we could go hiking and swimming too. It's mostly an RV park, but I would go back.

With the help of other family members, they are there to help you with anything and arrange wonderful events thruout the season. Intimate, yet private tents that are more like cabins (lights, ceiling fans, heaters, and a front porch with rocking chairs) dot the hillside above the rustic central meeting place, which is anchored by a huge fire pit that burns continuously throughout the season. I haven't even gotten to the food! A professional chef, at home creating in any cuisine, sets a bountiful and delicious table. I had never been glamping before. You're in the woods, in an awesome area surrounded by a great stream being waited on hand and foot. David was an awesome host the entire weekend, a friend and I drove up from NYC and were greeted with awesome local foods (sausages and cheese), produce, and a bottle of wine, we spent the night in a permanent tent structure that was pre-stocked with plenty of firewood (this was back in Oct). The host was an awesome chef, great to chat with, and was totally fine with giving us space when we needed. Additionally we packed a few food packs and went into the Caves of adirondacks. We definitely plan on coming back.

Today, we rented a canoe from the Rancho Pines Campground office. It was a very quick walk to the…read moreoffice which is also a little store with things you may need while camping. You can rent mountain bikes, canoes, pedal carts, and inner tubes for little money. The nice owner was happy to explain that you should paddle up river as there you will find two little islands and the end of the northern portion of rapids. We grabbed four life jackets and two paddles. Short walk down the hill, picked up our canoe, and walked a little further down the hill to the launching area. It was an absolute beautiful canoe ride north with little resistance against the current. When we reached the two little islands, the kids and us ventured around and swam. We saw lots of birds, fish, and even turtles. We paddled to the rapids and walked around the rocks. So many trout and other fish. Water was a tad cold. It was such a great time. Paddle easily back with the current. Dragged the canoe back up the hill and returned the life jackets and paddles. The owner asked how our trip was and happy to hear the details. Next, we had a fire to cook our hotdogs and corn on the cob. Ate and read our books is the best weather ever. Then, we immediately jumped into the swimming pool for some more water fun. Everyone around here is so kind and happy. Highly recommend this for single, couple, and family camping fun. Peace and quiet with a little relaxing adventure thrown in.

Office help very nice. Sites are wooded & large, bathrooms were clean. The roads are unpaved but good condition. The only negative was traffic noise from 87 through the woods. Close to LG Village. When I booked out vacation for the 4th of July, I selected our dates of arrival n departure, the website clearly has a big blue button that says availability ends on july 9 2025, if I speak English correctly that means it's available only until the 9. I clicked on the big blue button takes me to the middle of the next page where it says book now, I clicked book now and the very next page just asks for your payment information, what I did not know was that the website changed the dates to 07/06 instead of check in 07/04 like I entered, I received the confirmation email with the wrong date so I called them immediately and Mary who answered the phone said sorry too bad no refunds on holidays! I tried to explain to her and she wasn't caring one bit about it, gaslighting me to the best of her ability. She then said well I can change the site for it I ended up having to pay more money for an RV site cuz was the only thing available besides a plain site without W&E like I had already paid for. Then I went to look some of the reviews and I saw a picture and the RV site is gravel, she never mentioned that to me I asked her how am I going to put a tent on top of gravel??' Again their response is that that's none of their problem they already took my money if I want to come good if not good, they do not care! I made a complaint with BBB for the way that they have been conducting business and misleading and cheating on people! Save yourself the headache and book your trip else where! * by the way the video was done today about 2 weeks after all this happened. To this day they are still taking bookings for dates that aren't available and switching it over without showing the customers!! Be aware!

Yes some of the buildings are in need of repair (the building in Barbara C's pictures), but they are being worked on. This facility is run by a husband and wife and they are doing a fabulous job to keep up with all of the repairs and keep the facility looking nice. To Barbara C, Rome wasn't built in a day and repairs to buildings aren't fixed in a day as well. Also, you have bathroom facilities in your camper so why didn't you use those? The playground equipment is not in disrepair it is in good shape and the children I saw playing on it seemed like they were having a great time. As for the game room, did you happen to see the "New" game room? Obviously not, as you would have seen that it is very nice. As far as hearing the Northway, hello you're camping right next to it so you're going to hear the traffic. As I said before my weekend was very nice, and I would recommend this campground to anyone that was looking for a nice small family place to camp.

If you play horseshoes country haven has professional pits, Beautiful Pavillion where summer time campground parties are put on by the owners. Baseball/softball field to use, Giant swimming pool that is heated. Playground for the kids is always full of happy children, And a mini golf course that is just great. The owners sell and deliver firewood to your lot. Just a Great all around place to stay all season.
