Jim saw the flooring underneath had rotted due to over watering of the previous owners plants and fixed it all. He is meticulous. We bought close to 30 boxes and he inspected each board for defects. It turns out four boxes had defects. We were able to exchange them and finish the job. If you want perfection, call this guy. He was fastidious and his workmanship was impressive. He is so knowledgeable about flooring he PRECISELY matched the existing entrance way with the type of wood we needed. This guy knows floors! And the best thing was he was teaching his son the trade, so it's a family operation. I would have to say we would use him again in a heartbeat. Now my husband can say "I gotta a guy for that".

They were so very detailed and clean with their install process and it was perfect! For the quality of the floors to the install process the price was more than fair!! Now we're getting caught for long stretches just staring at the gorgeous floor. It's our favorite space in the house now. I have to really stress that W&W Hardwood Flooring did an absolutely stunning job! I typically try to do everything myself because: 1. I'm frugal (aka cheap). 2. I'm a repeat customer, so this is my second review of Modern Quality Flooring…read more Danny met me at our new condo in Oak Park right after our closing, and gave us several great options for our new bedroom floors. He took extra effort to give me 4 different estimates for each of the options. While he was measuring the rooms, he also pointed out an electrical outlet issue that I hadn't seen! His team did a fantastic job throughout! They neatly and efficiently removed all the old nasty carpeting, installed the soundproofing layer, the engineered oak flooring, and all the baseboards and thresholds. They were so patient and considerate while I had 2 electricians working on the same day (not exactly ideal, but couldn't be avoided). The most impressive thing to me was their attention to detail and quality work. Even the baseboards were neatly cut to fit around the old radiator covers perfectly. They also do kitchens and other jobs, and I plan to call Danny again for future work.

My fiancé and I tried to refinish our floors ourselves, but after 2 days we quickly realized we needed a professional. We reached out to 4 different companies. Every other company was condescending and poked fun at us for trying to do it ourselves. Danny came out immediately for a consultation, explained the entire process, and emailed me a quote the next day. From start to finish he was kind, soft spoken, took the time to explain every detail and the reasoning behind their process. We immediately wanted to move forward with Modern Quality Flooring. We confirmed with him on a Monday, his team of 3 started Tuesday and were done by Thursday. I am truly blown away at the efficiency and quality of work, such an incredible value and well worth every penny. They replaced some boards due to urine stains from previous owner and you could not even tell where they replaced the boards. They filled in nail spots and areas where the wood boards wouldn't reach our new, thinner base trim. Danny sanded an area to put down 2 stains to show me how the wood would take the stain. It was so great to see a sample of the stain on my actual floors, so there was no guessing in how the finish would turn out. Danny and his team were so kind, respectful, and patient throughout the entire process. If you are questioning getting your floors refinished, look no further. Don't waste any time, just go with Danny and Modern Quality Flooring. I promise you won't be disappointed!!
