PBLs take a kid's natural curiosity in a subject and show them how to combine ALL their school subjects (STEM, Social Studies, Language Arts, Hebrew, art and music) to present what they've learned. The kids learn how to present starting in kindergarten-- I'll never forget the first time my kid presented their Portfolio, I had no idea this 5 year old was capable of being so prepared, articulate, and confident. My jaw must've dropped a foot. I was just blown away!!! This child comes with some extremely unique, diagnosed developmental and learning challenges that, I've realized in the years since, would likely be too challenging to work with in a public school class three times bigger than his is. At AJA my kids get so much individual support, not just from their teachers but from every adult in the building. Academically, my kids are thriving. The expectations are high, and the teachers have been so talented and creative in their approaches to supporting my kids (not by coincidence-- they are constantly doing new faculty trainings). Our more neurotypical child has thrived and been encouraged to really push herself as well, and as a result has discovered proclivities for math specifically. I've wondered if, in a much larger class, this kiddo might have been kind of lost in the mix as a good-enough B student. Money well spent in my opinion! And then there's what brought us here: the Jewish education. I can see the way the school integrates Jewish values into the kids' daily lives. I see my children actually enjoy participation in Jewish culture and tradition, and apply lessons from our ancient texts to their modern day lives. They know exactly who they are and where they came from. They teach me stuff now!!! It makes a Jewish mother proud.

That school is not good for me because…read moreafter 10 minutes after you have use the restroom or something you have to do like the nurse for example, they can't let you in the freshman cafeteria unless they just open the doors instantly for you. Instead they just let you starve and the worst part about being on campus is that they have the big caged metal doors closed and they can't open them until lunch is over or they just open them 3 minutes after lunch is over. They used to let you have 7 minutes to get to your class, now you only have 5 minutes and if you walk from a class that is far away from your last class and the last bell just rang, they have you get a tardy and if you got 2, you would go to I.S.S.! Because how are you supposed to get to your next class from K Hall to L Hall for example and if you walk your normal speed, they make you get a tardy pass. your 2nd one will be I.S.S.! Also, I need to talk about the buses. The athletic side is okay, but when you leave the main building to get to the buses, they have the little yellow barriers to prevent you from going on the right side of the road when they are on the left side. They are not gonna be on the right side anyways because they never go there except for when they pull over and they have this sign that says "if you go under the barrier, you will get ISS or OSS (out of school suspension). Like it's just a barrier, they don't need to take it so seriously. My bus was the reason why I got home at 6 one day because the bus in the very very front wouldn't move and we had to wait at the school for nearly half an hour on the buses till the first driver moved after those 30 minutes. About the restrooms: The staff says you can't go during the first and the last 15 minutes of class. If it was an emergency, some teachers won't let you go because they have to follow the policy, which is fine, but students need to use the restroom before the 15 minute mark because they can't hold it in for too long, but guess what. They closed off all of the restrooms, even the ones in L Hall. The school's policies are just pretty depressing and unfair to be honest.

My daughter's enrollment was handled extremely poorly. When I began asking about scholarship opportunities, communication essentially stopped from Sara Solomon knowing that I was on a timeline for Tefa vouchers to choose a school. I text messaged her from 9 in the morning till 9 at night five text messages and she did not respond until I said I had the money to pay for the other half of enrollment tuition by that point she probably couldn't get a hold of the director but instead of taking accountability, she completely ignored me after saying she would reach out to director of the school to accept the Tefa voucher. My calls and emails went unanswered, and even after I contacted Barbara, the owner directly, I experienced the same lack of response. I spent a week trying to get information, not knowing if the enrollment was accepted from their end for our voucher That was especially troubling when the situation involved a child's education and future. What disappointed me most was the apparent lack of consideration, transparency, and basic professionalism. Families deserve to be treated with honesty and respect, particularly when they are trying to make important decisions about their child's education. If financial assistance is not available, that can be communicated honestly. Ghosting a family instead is unacceptable. The campus may be aesthetically impressive, but appearances mean very little if the people responsible for serving families do not communicate or demonstrate compassion and integrity. I would strongly encourage prospective families to look beyond the beautiful presentation and ask how the school actually treats families when circumstances become complicated. Based on my experience, I did not feel valued, respected, or treated with the level of decency I would expect from an educational institution entrusted with children's futures. I'm a big believer of karma and how you treat others. What goes around must come back around. This is not the way you treat human beings. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this school based on how my daughter and I were treated.

Nearly all of the teachers have taught at the school for a long period of time. Dr. German has operated the school since the 70's, and has a masterful knowledge of how to work with high school students. Without fail, I found each teacher and advisor to be fully committed to my daughter's education, and meticulous in their assessment of strenghs and weaknesses. More importantly, these teacher had the time to dovetail the curriculum to the needs so carefully determined. I have no doubt that my daughter's success relied upon this very unique approach to education. This small, nurturing environment has afforded my daughter a very enriching high school experience. We have a kinder and 2nd grader and they absolutely love going to school. We vetted every school to find the right fit and feel fortunate to be apart of Trinity. The staff is responsive and kind. The community as a whole has been embracing. Yes Trinity does have a high curriculum standard but we find that to be a positive.
